  1. This announcement will take longer to wait now. They should bring back the Eurovision panel for next year's Sanremo Festival or choose internally like Emma in 2014.
  2. Really!?!??!?!
  3. I agree. Relieved that Stadio turned it down. Disappointed that Dolcenera ranked very low though. Can RAI choose artists only from this year's Sanremo or artists outside the competition? If amongst Sanremo, Giovanni/Deborah, Annalisa, Dolcenera, Francesca or Alessio would be a good fit. Otherwise, Tiziano Ferro would be a nice entry. Some people are suggesting The Kolors, last year's Amici winner.
  4. YAY!!!! Lush Life!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
  5. Interestingly this week, Selena's Same Old Love and Jess Glynne's Don't Be So Hard on Yourself has been certified Gold. Neither have entered the Official NZ Top 40 but they have been hanging around the Heatseekers charts (RMNZ's equivalent of a Bubbling Under chart) for a while now.
  6. I joined Buzzjack on 20 August 2006!!!! UK: Shakira f/Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie (final week at #1 - 5th non-consecutive week at #1) US: Fergie - London Bridge (2nd of 3 weeks at #1) 2006 was one of the years I followed and enjoyed the UK Singles charts very much. Yes, the sales were at their low points but it was still exciting to watch. Hips Don't Lie was number 1. It was then in the Top 3 for three weeks before returning the top spot again for another four weeks, according to the OCC. I also remember this as being the final #1 on TOTP.  I didn't follow Billboard in 2006 so Fergie having a #1 single was new information to me.  I still think if Fergalicious was pushed more, it would have had a chance to do well in the UK (it peaked at #2 in the US).
  7. Ellie Goulding - Delirium Lana - Honeymoon (album) Happy New Year and thanks in advance!!!!  :cheer: :cheer:

  10. #2 with 141k.
  11. I'm a bit surprised that the Diamond award is at 500k. I would have at least thought it would be at 700k so that 10x Platinum would become Diamond like the US. It would be interesting to see if Buble and Adele will get their awards as well as they have sold way past the new threshold, like you said. Ed would have received it since he performed at the ARIAs. I remember when the ARIAs used to have awards for Highest Selling Single/Album for Aussie artists.

  13. Gigantic sales for Adele!!! 1.112m is incredibly amazing!!! As for Focus, as much as I was hoping for a Top 5, I have a feeling it might miss out on even Top 10 entirely and debut at #12. It's falling on iTunes (though it seems to stagnate right now), her Spotify numbers are good but not fantastic and her video views are not growing as fast I thought. After the full week, I have a feeling focus will debut with 112k sales with 18m US streams from YouTube and Audio On-Demand. Having said that, people are liking Focus more now, most likely after her performance at the iHeart stage she did last week.
  14. Adele = 800k in first week sales. 35m US streams from YouTube and On-Demand (Spotify, Deezer) Bieber = #4 with 320k first week sales and 12m streaming from YouTube and On-Demand (Spotify, Deezer) - Airplay might not be enough for higher rank.
  15. #2 with a 70k debut.

    15/20!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:
  17. I'm more excited about Bubbling Under than Hot 100 lately. Billboard has always been stagnant with their Top 20 but this is just wow. It kinda reminds me of the Spanish singles chart back in 2010.
  18. Fantastic for Downtown reaching #1!!! It took a while but glad it finally reached there!!! Sugar has been played more on radio, MTV and Channel V recently, so longevity may be possible. Great for Jess and Sia to grab another Top 10. The numbers for Top 10 sales are looking rather closer in recent weeks. The Top 2 race was tight but the numbers for 3-10 were quite close as well that any of these seven songs would have traded places.
  19. Great to see Lana finally at number 1 somewhere!!!
  20. Good for Troye for reaching #1 on an EP. Interesting to see how the #1 album is divided between states. For example, Troye is at the top in NSW while Iron Maiden is #1 in Victoria. I am hoping Macklemore can achieve #1 for Downtown. It might not quite be next week but the week after is possible. Interesting how Demi's Cool For The Summer didn't do much in Australia, having only peaked at #20. Very much a contrast in NZ, where it entered Top 10 this week at number 9 and is certified Gold. Looks like Taylor FINALLY has some streaming points after all from Apple at 570 points, which should be over 100k streams? I don't know what ARIA's ratio of streaming:sales are now.
  21. It is frustrating for Black Magic not peaking further but it is certified Gold, which is good.

Yaaay for The Hills, Jess Glynne and Will Young reaching silver!!! Didn't realise that Fighter and Sweet Home Alabama took a while to get to the 200k mark!! I also love that Video Games is now Platinum!! Great for Sheezus (finally!!) and Jess' album to reach the Gold threshold!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
  23. Really happy that Selena is Top 2!!! Never expected her to reach that high but I'm glad!!
  24. THAT late? Zara would have long moved on to releasing another single (or two) by then!!!
  25. I'm quite shocked only five streaming providers are listed there. They really need to update their list. Even France's SNEP has more participating streaming companies and they still haven't merged their singles chart (SNEP admitted that they are currently not as experienced and have technical means as OCC/BPI to make the move   )!! Although, I do find it interesting that JB HIFI has a streaming service. Justin will likely get a second week at #1. The rest of the Top 10 are insanely close!! So, I am expecting more moving around next week. I am loving how more Warner songs are making competitive entries and longevities now. It's nice to see.
