By my calculations, 'ABBA Gold', went over 6,600,000 UK Sales, a few Months ago. The B.P.I. are late, in giving it a 22nd UK Platinum Award...

No 1 on both the Singles and Albums chart, simultaneously
On Friday, Tylor Swift will achieve the UK 'Double Top' for the 3rd time. That is for the UK Charts of W/E 2nd May. I get 28 Acts that have achieved it more than once. Taylor is the 16th Act to manage it more than twice. Of the Rolling Stones 14 UK No.1 Albums, 'Hackney Diamonds' is only the 3rd to return to No.1 in the same 'Chart Run'. The first of the 3 went to No.1 on 3 occasions. It is also their 1st Album to do so since 'Sticky Fingers' in 1971. Their return to No.1 'Chart Runs' are: A).. 'Rolling Stones No.2' -- (1965) -- 1-1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1 B).. Queen's Greatest Hits 1st album to top 7 million UK sales
Regarding the UK Sales of 'Greatest Hits' (One). The OCC only added in 'Enhanced Sales', from 'The Platinum Collection', (560,000), and the 1994 Double Queen CD, (66,000), in 2006. It was done when The OCC compiled the UK's 'All Time' Top 100 Best Selling Albums, that Year. So, the 1981 Album got 626,000 'Enhance Sales' added to it. As did 'Greatest Hits II', (1991). The 1999 Compilation, 'Greatest Hits III', got 560,000 'Enhanced Sales' added in. After that 2006 Top 100 was compiled, The OCC ceased adding Sales, from the 2000 Triple CD, and the 1994 Double CD, to the 3 Queen 'Hits' Albums. I know this, because I made Friends with The OCC Guy, who organised the 2006 Top 100. He did not compile it, but he got some UK 'Chart Experts' to do so. I still know him, and he assures me that there were Zero 'Enhanced Sales' added in after 2006. It was not an on-going process. Alan Jones confirmed the 'Enhanced Sales' for Queen, in 'Music Week', in September 2009. The 1981 Queen 'Hits' Albums has really sold 7,000,000 - 626,000, as a 'Stand-A-Lone' Album. The OCC are careful not to mention its 'Enhanced Sales', when reporting on its UK Total. In fact, 2 of its 23 UK Platinum Disks, are really from 2 other Queen Compilations. 'ABBA Gold' is on about 6,110,000 UK Sales. The 1st Queen 'Hits' Album is really a few 100,000 in front of it. Not the massive almost 900,000, in front, that the 'Enhanced' 626,000 Sales give it. I realize that many 'Chart Fans', (and Queen Fans), will disagree with me. But, I know that a lot of 'Chart Fans' do agree with me, as I've discussed it with them. It is a matter of what is right or wrong. We each have our own perspectives.

What is the longest gap between #1's for an artist?
On Friday, Kate will also have the UK's most Years between a 1st and 2nd No.1 Single. Tom Jones only had 1 Year and 9 Months between his 1st, (March 1965), and 2nd, (December 1966), UK No.1 Singles.

ED SHEERAN -- ONLY THE 4th ACT TO SPEND A YEAR ON TOP OF EITHER UK CHART Last Week, Ed Sheeran spent his 52nd Week on top of the UK Singles Chart. He is only the 3rd Act to achieve it. He was the 4th Act, to reach a Year on top of, either the UK Singles Chart, or the UK Album Chart. Two of the 4 Acts, have managed it on top of both Charts. The same 4 Acts, are also, the UK's 'Most Weeks On Chart' Artists. ABBA had been in 3rd place, since late 1979, until Ed Sheeran over-took them a few Weeks ago. A).. Next week number 1
Apparently ABBA plan to Release a Christmas Single, this Year. Christmas Themed I mean. It is their 1st ever Christmas Song. 'Happy New Year' is only about 1 Day. So, they may well have a shot at the UK, (and elsewhere), Christmas No.1 Single. I believe that the Christmas Song is called 'Little Things'. It would also give a Sales 'boost' to their New Album.

The UK Number 1 Album on the 12th November
ABBA don't actually have to reach No.1 in November. There will be their first Christmas Themed Song, ('Little Things', I think it is called). That will give the Album a new 'Boost' in late December. Several ABBA Albums returned to No.1, in the UK - 'Greatest Hits', 'Arrival', 'Greatest Hits Vol.2', and 'Gold', (4 times!). So, even if ABBA's 'Voyage' Album is not No.1 in November, there'll be later Months, that it can get there. After all, neither Ed nor Adele, are at No.1 forever...

ABBA - Voyage
Apparently, there is to be some kind of ABBA 'Event', at several Global Cities, on Thursday 2nd September. It lasts from about 5pm, (some say 6pm), to 1 Minute to Midnight. In the 1st Minute of Friday 3rd September, we will get some New ABBA Music. It is to be either 1 Song, or 2 Songs. ABBA have Recorded more than 2 New Songs. We will get the rest at a later Date. Altogether, there are either 5 New Songs, or 8 - or even a New Album. We will see. If you want to get Emails - with on-going information, about ABBA's Plans, here is the ABBA Voyage Site: https://abbavoyage.com/?s=07&fbclid=IwA...T12uA-6dODg-_7k You can see what The Venue will look like, (for The ABBAtars Shows, in London), in this Article, from yesterday's 'The Sun'. The Venue looks like it could be a Building in 'Star Trek'! It seats 3000 People, and there will be 8 Shows a Week. Presumably Saturday, will be the Day with 2 Shows. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/15977...-show-comeback/

The OCC Website
I've just done The OCC Survey. 1). They clearly plan to change some things. Either in their 'Rules', or on their Site. (Maybe both). Be it sooner or later. 2). It looks like, they have been losing money. Probably, (somehow), due to COVID19. 3). Some of the Questions are about cash. They ask, if Chart Fans, would be willing to Pay, to access their Site. 4). They List several things, and ask which of them would encourage Chart Fans, to pay for OCC Site Access. 5). Things like a faster Site, more Interviews, more Competitions - even 'A New Site', is given as an option. 6). They ask a lot of Questions, about how familiar, Chart Fans are with their Logos, and Chart Dates etc. 7). I got the impression, that The OCC has lost a lot of money, and they are trying, to find out, what we 'Chart Fans', will be willing to pay for. So that the OCC can rake in more money. They also suggested a Chart Forum - to go on their Site. 8). They even plan, (hope), to Sell OCC and Chart, Merchandise! They showed several Photos of it. I forget if there was a Price next to it. One of them, is a small replica, of those Number 1 Trophy's, that they give to the Artists, who get to No.1! 9). Each Question, gives you the chance, to choose something of your own. I told them, that I'd like their Site, to be more accurate.

The STATE of the album chart~
When 'The Pandemic' started, and we had the 1st UK 'Lockdown', I wanted to cheer myself up. So, I started to buy loads of 'Greatest Hits' CD's, by my favourite 'Heritage' Artists. It was like 'Comfort Eating' - by using Music instead! I bought a great many CD's, that I already had - by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, The Drifters, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Elton John, The Carpenters, ELO, Queen, ABBA, Madonna, REM, and so on. Obviously, a great many other UK People, also re-bought 'Heritage Music'. It was a Psychological reaction to 'The Pandemic'. Which is why lots of 'Hits' Albums etc. started 'flooding' the Top 100 again. (I never 'Stream' Music. I like Physical CD's). I also 're-bought' Compilations of: 1950's, 1960's, 1970's and 1980's Hits. Plus - Girl Group Hits, Motown Hits, and Phil Spector Hits etc. I try to like a lot of 'Modern' Artists, but I only like a few of them, such as Ed Sheeran, or Adele. I like Eminem too. I realise that he's not 'Modern'. Oasis and Kylie Minogue too. I have noticed, that a lot of 'Modern' Artists, are unable to stay in the Top 10, of the Album Chart, for. very long. Even if they enter at No.1, or any other Positions, in the Top 5. It's as if they cannot sustain Album Sales, for very long. None of which will change, if 'Greatest Hits' Albums, are 'banished' to their own Chart. That would not make a lot of 'Modern' Acts, suddenly start selling more Albums. It would also completely stop, a lot of Chart Fans, from paying much attention, to the Album Chart, as it would mainly be full of Acts, that have Zero interest to us. Just as the Singles Chart already bores us, for the same reason. Hopefully, The OCC will carry on, allowing 'Hits' Albums into the Album Chart - if they want to keep 'Older' Music Fans, in the least interested.

Could the Site have been 'Hacked'? I can't find any of the Artist Pages, as well as the various Charts not being there. Has the Site been wiped clean? Either by an Hacker, or by The OCC's own Technology going wrong? I know very little about such things.

SOLO FEMALES – 2 UK No.1 STUDIO ALBUMS IN A CALENDAR YEAR (W/E 28th July 1956 to W/E 24th December 2020) (Weeks at No.1 in Brackets) Taylor Swift is only the 2nd strictly Solo Female to have 2 UK No.1 Studio Albums inside a Calendar Year. NOTE -- However, Taylor is the 1st Female to achieve it with 2 Studio Albums, that were both released in that same Year. (No Females in Groups have achieved that either). 1).. RIHANNA W/E 8th January 2011 -- Loud (3) W/E 3rd December 2011 -- Talk That Talk (1) 2).. TAYLOR SWIFT W/E 6th August 2020 -- Folklore (3) W/E 24th December 2020 -- Evermore (1) THE 2 SOLO FEMALES WHO DID NOT QUITE ACHIEVE IT A).. GLORIA ESTEFAN W/E 25th March 1989 -- Anything For You (1) -- (This was with Miami Sound Machine) W/E 5th August 1989 -- Cuts Both Ways (6) -- (She was only Solo on this one) B).. AMY WINEHOUSE -- @@@ W/E 6th August 2011 -- Back To Black (3) W/E 17th December 2011 -- Lioness : Hidden Treasures (1) -- (A Compilation Album) @@@ = Amy Winehouse is only the 3rd Solo Female to achieve 2 different UK No.1 Albums in a Calendar Year – of any type – Studio and/or Compilation. NOTE -- If take a look at Females in Male/Female Groups, then only Blondie & ABBA, have had 2 Studio Albums, in a Calendar Year. But, in both of those cases, the 1st of those No.1’s, were released in the previous Year. Blondie did it with ‘Parallel Lines’ and ‘Eat To The Beat’, in 1979. ABBA achieved it with ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘The Visitors’, in 1981. If we look at entirely Female Groups, then the Spice Girls achieved it in 1997. ‘Spice’ was No.1, (3 times), that Year and ‘Spiceworld’ was No.1, (twice), that Year. ‘Spice’ was released in 1996. ABBA had also had 2 UK No.1 Albums, in 1979, (‘Voulez Vous’ and ‘Greatest Hits Vol.2’), and in 1980, (‘Greatest Hits Vol.2’ and ‘Super Trouper’), but – as you can see – that was with 1 Studio Album and 1 Compilation Album. If we count Film Soundtracks, then Shirley Jones, was on both ‘Oklahoma!’ and ‘Carousel’, in 1956…

So - Mariah's Christmas Song finally reaches No.1 in the UK Singles Chart. It is its 104th Week inside the Top 100. 2 Years, in other words. Its 88th Top 75 Week. Its 70th Top 40 Week. Its 48th Week in the Top 20. Its 26th Top 10 Week and its 17th Top 5 Week. Incredibly, it is the only 1, of her 19 USA No.1 Singles, to also be a UK No.1. It - finally - reached No.1 in the USA, in December 2019. Her previous 2 UK No.1 Singles were not No.1's in the USA. Her 1994 UK No.1 - 'Without You' - was a Cover of a 1972 Nilsson No.1, which was a Cover of a 1970 Badfinger Album Track. Mariah's version was a USA No.3 Hit. Her UK No.1, in 2000, with Westlife, was a Cover of a 1984 Phil Collins No.2 Hit - 'Against All Odds'. The Mariah & Westlife Cover, was not even given a USA Release... I've worked out the 7 UK Hit Singles, to take the most Years, to reach No.1. From the Week that they first entered the UK Singles Chart... YTD UK Albums : Sales estimates - week 49
Some Albums carry on selling around 100,000 - or more - every Year. Even though they are Decades old. If 'Greatest Hits' by Queen, can retain its place, in the Year End Top 10, it will be only the 2nd time that it has been in the UK's Annual Top 10 Best Selling Albums. 'Officially' it was 2nd for 1981. However, the New Book - the 1981 'Music Chronicle' - adds in the Sales, for the final Week of 1981 and the Queen 'Greatest Hits' Album moves up from 2nd to 1st place. Despite their gigantic UK Album Sales, (2nd only to The Beatles, I believe), Queen never had the UK's Annual Best Selling Album more than once...
