Bridgit Mendler - Ready Or Not
onp73T-bWzg bA1PAkKD3Q4 The Chorus is clearly based on 2 older Songs. In 1996, The Fugees had a UK No.1 with 'Ready Or Not'. That was based on the 1968 No.41 Hit, by The Delfonics, 'Ready Or Not Here I Come (Gonna Find You)'. So, the Bridgit Mendler Single is not new, as regards the Chorus. I think that it will be a No.1 UK Hit, however.

Comic Relief Hits In The UK
Apparently, One Direction are not just releasing their cover of the Blondie Track, for Comic Relief. It is to be either a 'mash up', or a Double 'A' Side, with a cover of the 1978 Hit, 'Teenage Kicks' - the Undertones song.

Album chart question
In 2008/2009, the 'Mamma Mia!'Soundtrack was an 11 Week No.1 in the Compilation Chart, & the 'Mamma Mia!' Original Cast Album was a No.12 Album, in the Artist, (Main), Album Chart. They were both Charting at the same time - but in different Charts.

Survey : Physical album buying
Physical Albums. I like to see them on my shelf, & to be able to read the sleeve notes etc. I don't feel that it is a 'real' Album, unless I can pick it up, open the case, & take out a CD. I don't like Downloads. I've yet to Download any Singles, or Albums, & I've been on The Internet since February 2001. Of the 26.2 Households in the UK, 5.2 Million do not have Internet access. That's an awful lot of CD & DVD Sales 'lost', if people, (eventually), can only buy them On-Line. However, the 2012 Total, (Households with Internet access), was up 2 Million on 2011, so it depends how many of the 5.2 Million Households decide to have Internet access, as the Year's go by.

The Suedehead Chart Commentary
Yes - 'Gold' does not have the 'Most Chart Weeks', because it was released in September 1992 - over 3.5 Years after the entire Top 100 stopped being used for UK Chart Books etc. So, its 454 Weeks do not contain any No.76 to No.100 Positions. They are all Top 75 Weeks.

Most Platinum singles?
Here are ABBA's Biggest Selling UK Singles:, 1. Dancing Queen - 1,060,000 2. Knowing Me Knowing You - 845,000 3. Super Trouper - 815,000 4. Fernando – 775,000 5. Take A Chance On Me - 705,000 6. The Name Of The Game - 700,000 7. The Winner Takes It All - 620,000 8. Chiquitita - 575,000 9. I Have A Dream - 570,000 10. Waterloo - 510,000 11. Mamma Mia - 505,000 So the Top 7 have all sold enoiugh to go Platinum. The next 4 have sold enough to go Gold. 'Money, Money, Money', & 'One Of Us' also went Gold. ABBA have had 13 UK Gold Singles, via the old criteria - 500,000. Plus, 2 more via the new criteria - 400,000. They are 'Voulez'Vous/Angeleyes', & 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!'. However, neither ABBA, nor Madonna, have ever been given any UK Platinum Singles Awards. When ABBA were together you had to sell 1 Million to get one, & 'Dancing Queen' did not reach it until after 2005. Madonna has 12 UK Gold Singles Awards, to ABBA's 10, but ABBA did pretty well, when you consider that she has released more than twice as many Singles as they did. Well over 60 for her, to 26 for ABBA.

XF Winners Song...
There are a couple of misconceptions in this Thread. 1) Whilst 'He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother' is a 1960's Song, (1969), the Song that Jahmene will release - if he Wins - is actually a 1970's Song. 2) Someone else said, that it would be good to see Jahmene's Song at No.1, as that Song had never been No.1 before. It has - in 1987. Personally, I think that of all the old Songs that Jahmene could have recorded, it would have been good if he'd 'chosen' something that had never been No.1 before. (That goes for those who have covered The Hollies 1969 Song, too) Like far too many people who do Covers, hardly any imagination is shown.

With Robbie Williams, One Direction, & Olly Murs, all doing the Double Top, over 4 Weeks, what does it mean in context? 1) It is the fastest 3 Double Tops ever - by different Acts. 2) The Beatles did it 3 times, within 4 Weeks, in 1963:, 28/11/1963 (1) The Beatles - Please Please Me // She Loves You 05/12/1963 (1) The Beatles - With The Beatles // She Loves You 12/12/1963 (5) The Beatles - With The Beatles // I Want To Hold Your Hand 3) Olly Murs is the 4th Act to manage it in 2012. Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band did it in June, with Sing. 4) 4 Double Tops in a Calendar Year is not that rare. It was done 5 times in 2011 - but, only by 3 Acts. Rihanna did it twice, as did Adele, & Bruno Mars did it once. 5) It was previously done as many as 4 times - by different Acts - in 2008 - Duffy, Madonna, Coldplay, & Kings Of Leon.

Top of the Pops on Thursdays, bbc 4.

007 Chart Commentary - 18th Nov 2012
The Robbie Williams + One Direction 'Double Tops', are the 5th time that it has been achieved in successive Weeks. The Beatles succeeded themselves with Double Tops on 2 occasions - for 3 Weeks in a row, & for 2 Weeks in a row. So, it has been achieved, by different Acts, on 3 occasions. 28/11/1963 (1) The Beatles - Please Please Me // She Loves You 05/12/1963 (1) The Beatles - With The Beatles // She Loves You 12/12/1963 (5) The Beatles - With The Beatles // I Want To Hold Your Hand 16/07/1964 (1) The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones // It's All Over Now 23/07/1964 (3) The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night (OST) // A Hard Day's Night 10/12/1964 (1) The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night (OST) // I Feel Fine 17/12/1964 (4) The Beatles - Beatles For Sale // I Feel Fine 15/01/2011 (1) Rihanna - Loud // What’s My Name? (Featuring Drake) 22/01/2011 (1) Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops & Hooligans // Grenade 17/11/2012 (1) Robbie Williams - Take The Crown // Candy 24/11/2012 (1) One Direction - Take Me Home // Little Things NOTE - I believe that One Direction are the 1st Act to enter at No.1, in both Charts, on the Week that they've achieved it. Usually a Single has gone to No.1 before the Album - so they cannot both enter at No.1 in the same Week. And many Acts did the 'Double Top' with Singles & Albums that climbed to No.1. Either both Records climbed to the Top, or the Single or the Album climbed there.

That first ever chart 60 years ago
BBC Breakfast did a 'piece' about the 1st Chart & current Chart, this morning. They played the 1st Top 10 to several little kids, & the current Top 10 to several much older people. The views of both are interesting to hear. The kids are far less tolerant of 1952 Music, than the adults are of 2012 Music. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20308367
