Yes, no French Act has ever had a No.1 Album, in the UK. One of those, who've had a No.2 Album is Richard Clayderman, who had his UK No.2 Album in 1982. It was his very first UK Hit Album - Introducing Richard Clayderman Red Hot Chili Peppers have their 4th UK No.1 Album, with I'm With You. Since the UK Album Chart began, (July 1956), surprisingly few USA Groups have had 3, (or more), No.1 Albums. There are only 7 USA Groups, who have achieved it:, USA GROUPS WITH THE MOST UK No.1 ALBUMS - 3 OR MORE 1) REM - 8 (3 of them consecutive) 2) BON JOVI - 5 (All 5 consecutive - Plus, 6 No.2 Albums - 4 consecutive) 3) RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - 4 (The last 3 consecutive) 4)=DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREMES - 3 *** 4)=THE KILLERS - 3 (2 consecutive) 4)=KINGS OF LEON - 3 (2 consecutive) 4)=FOO FIGHTERS - 3 (2 consecutive) *** = As regards Diana Ross & The Supremes - Their 2nd No.1, (1969), was a collaboration with The Temptations. The Supremes are the only Females in this List. 1) THE CARPENTERS - If you count a Duo as a Group, The Carpenters are an 8th USA Group to have had as many as 3 UK No.1 Albums. They've had 3 - 2 of them consecutive. 2) BLONDIE - They had 2 UK No.1 Albums - both in 1979 - Parallel Lines, & Eat To The Beat. One of the Group was a British guy, at the time. 3) BEACH BOYS - Despite having had more UK Hit Albums than any other USA Group, the Beach Boys have only had 2 UK No.1 Albums - both 'Hits' Compilations. (One in 1976, & one in 1983). 4) SIMON & GARFUNKEL - If you regard them as a Group. They have spent more time at No.1, than any other USA 'Group', in the UK Album Chart - 40 Weeks. But, they've only had 2 No.1 Albums. Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970) - 33 Weeks, & Bookends (1968) - 7 Weeks. (Greatest Hits (1972), spent 59 Weeks in the Top 10, but it reached No.2. For 3 Weeks). 5) FLEETWOOD MAC & THE POLICE - Those 2 Groups have had 4, & 6 UK No.1 Albums, respectively, but they are really UK/USA Groups. 3 of Fleetwood Mac are British - Mick Fleetwood, Christiine McVie, & John McVie. 2 of The Police are British - Sting, & Andy Summers. So, neither are wholly USA Groups. 6) BLACK EYED PEAS - Despite 5 UK No.1 Singles, the Black Eyed Peas have never had a No.1 Album. Elephunk, (2003), Peaked at No.3, Monkey Business, (2005), got to No.4, The E.N.D, (2009), reached No.3, & The Beginning, (2010), was a No.8 Hit Album. Technically, they are not a wholly USA Group, anyhow. One of the Men in the Group - Apl.De.Ap., (Allan Pineda Lindo, Jr.), was born in Asia - The Philippines.

Bre - Sorry, I got it wrong when I said that it was 'last Week', that 'When We Were Young' Peaked at No.88. 'Hold Up A Light' does count as a Take That Single. It was released as one, in December 2009. But, only as a Download, in the UK. It Peaked at No.123 - probably because so many people already had it on 'The Circus' Album. So, if 'When We Were Young' gets no higher than No.88, it will be their 2nd smallest UK Hit Single, not their 1st. And, it is their 29th UK Single - not their 28th.

I can find no Winners of either Opportunity Knocks, or New Faces, who had more than 1 UK No.1 Album - Neil Reid, Peters & Lee, & Showaddywaddy. Max Boyce was unsuccessful on Opportunity Knocks, but he had 1 No.1 Album, too. ABBA Won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, & Celine Dion Won the 1988 Contest. They've had 9 & 5 UK No.1 Albums, respectively. However, the Contest looks for a Song - not the Act who Sing it. Technically, the ESC is a Song Contest - rather than a Talent Contest. (It is not a UK Contest, anyhow - but Pan European).

I think I'm right in saying that Will Young is the only UK Talent Show Winner, to have as many as 3 No.1 Albums? Leona Lewis has has had 3, but, technically, the 2nd was the same Album as the first. In 2007 she was No.1 with Spirit, & in 2008, it was with Spirit Deluxe. Oddly, her '3rd' No.1 Album was Echo, (2009), & Will Young's 3rd is Echoes. Last Week, When We Were Young, by Take That was at No.88. This Week, it is no longer in the Top 100. It is their 28th UK Single. Unless it reaches at least No.81, it will become their smallest Hit Single, ever in the UK. Their very first Single - Do What You Like - was a No.82 Hit, in 1991. (In 2009, The Garden only got to No.97, but, it was an Album Track, in the UK, & not an actual Single). Had 21, by Adele, managed a 31st Top 2 Week, she'd have equalled the Solo Artist Top 2 Weeks, in a row, Run of G.I. Blues, by Elvis Presley. His Album was in the Top 2 for 31 consecutive Weeks, from W/E 17th December 1960 to W/E 15th July 1961. (22 at No.1, & 9 at No.2). However, his Album entered at No.4, (W/E 10th December 1960), so his 31 Top 2 Weeks were not its 31 first Chart Weeks, but its Weeks 2 to 32.

No-one is saying that 21 has spent more consecutive Weeks in the Top 2, than any other Album. What her Album has achieved, is to be the only/first Album to spend as long as its 1st 30 Chart Weeks in the Top 2. The South Pacific Soundtrack Album managed an incredible 119 consecutive Top 2 Weeks, from November 1958 to February 1961. 107 of them at No.1, & 12 at No.2. (70 of them were consecutive No.1 Weeks - including being No.1 for all of 1959). But, it took 28 Chart Weeks to start that 119 Weeks Top 2 Run. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 6) I also checked which Album entered at No.1, & then remained there the longest - in its 1st Chart Weeks. It was My Fair Lady - Original Broadway Cast. It entered at No.1, on W/E 10th May 1958, & remained there for 19 Weeks. It then spent 2 Weeks at No.1 - giving it 21 Top 2 Weeks, with its initial Chart Weeks. Chart Trivia - Jagger
It does not matter that 'Swagger Jagger' is not name-checking Mick Jagger directly. It is still Mick Jagger's surname. So, there will be 2 Singles in the Chart that mention Mick Jagger's second name. That is an indisputable fact. A coincidence does not have to mean that 2 exact things happen - at the same time - that are rare. A coincidence can mean that 2 unrelated things LOOK similar, & are also rare. Which is what we get with this 'Jagger' matter.....A rare coincidence.

Bre - I don't know. It is not my decision. It is The OCC's, & UK Chart Book Compilers, decision. I recall that the 1981 to 1989 Top 100's used to be published - in 'Sounds' I think it was. Only the Top 75 appears in print, ('Music Week'), now. I was once told - by The OCC - that IF 'Music Week' ever started using the Top 100's, then The OCC etc. would use the Top 100's, for Chart Stats, & Facts & Feats etc. ('Sounds' closed down in April 1991). AMY WINEHOUSE/ADELE With Amy Winehouse remaining at No.1 for a 3rd Week, & her 'Frank' Album in 4th place - plus, Adele being No.2, ('21'), & No.5, ('19).... It's only the 9th Chart, since the Album Chart began - 28th July 1956 - that 2 Acts have 2 Top 5 Albums, at the same time. It is also the 3rd Chart in a row that it has happened in. The first time ever that it has occured in 3 consecutive Charts, & only the 2nd time that it has happened for more than 1 successive Chart. (16th & 23rd December 1961 saw the George Mitchell Minstrels, & Elvis Presley, have 2 Top 5 Albums each, in successive Charts).

No one is saying that the Top 100 Singles & Albums Charts are not 'Official'. They are just not used for UK Chart Books. Only the Top 75 is used. Nor does 'Music Week' use the Top 100's - only the Top 75's. Also - Almost all UK Charts Facts & Feats, & 'All Time' Statistics, are based on the Top 75. So that my own Lists match those in UK Chart Books, I only use the Top 75, too.

It is 3 Albums. The 'Frank/Back To Black' 'Set' is the same Albums as those at 1 & 5, but, the Double 'Set' itself still counts as an Album in its own right. Just as the 3 CD 'Set' 'The Platinum Collection' was a Queen Album. The fact that it consisted of their 3 'Hits' Albums is of no consequence. Amy Winehouse has 3 Hits/Entries in the current UK Album Chart. So, she joins the other 13 Acts who have had 3, (or more), Top 10 Albums at the same time.

The only other Females to achieve it were the ones in the George Mitchell Minstrels. UK Million Sellers
Yes, it is far easier to buy Music, now. In the past many people never went into Music Stores, but now they can buy Tracks without even leaving the house. They can also buy them whatever the weather - in the past, if there was snow or ice outside, or heavy rain, people would only go out to buy food, etc., rather than bother to get to HMV etc., to buy CD's. On top of this, we have Downloads being available 24/7, 365 Days a Year, & so Tracks can keep on selling - no longer only being able to sell, if the Stores had copies of them in stock. Because 'Born This Way', (Lady GaGa), has returned to No.1, in the Album Chart, I have compiled this Chart Trivia, on the Acts who have returned to No.1, with their 1st 2 UK No.1 Albums. LUCIANO PAVAROTTI - I've NOT counted him, as whilst 'The Essential Pavarotti', was a 2 'Run' No.1, (1990), his 2nd No.1 Album, was 'In Concert', (also a 2 'Run' No.1, in 1990), but that was also with Jose Carreras, & Placido Domingo. (NOTE - I'm NOT counting 'The Fame Monster' as Lady Gaga's 2nd Studio Album, as The OCC regard it as the same Album as 'The Fame'. Nor do I count the 2010 'The Remix' Album as her 2nd Album, as that was just Remixes of her 'The Fame' Album). As soon as I heard 'Americano', I knew that Lady GaGa had been 'influenced' by the spoken intro. of the 1954 UK No.1/USA No.10 Hit, 'Mambo Italiano', by Rosemary Clooney. (See YouTube). Sure enough, she's now said that she did 'borrow' from that 1950's Song. I think that the last 40 seconds of it sounds like The Dooleys, but others would probably say ABBA, as The Dooleys were not so well known Globally. I also think that it would be a big Hit for her. She needs one. So far, she's rushed out 4 Tracks off 'Born This Way', & not only have none of them made No.1, but only one of them has reached the UK Top 5 - 'Born This Way' - No.3.

Osama Bin Laden Dead
I've looked at this matter from all angles. Something does not add up. They know very well that many said Hitler escaped in 1945, because only the Soviets had his body, & they would not let others examine it. Now - May 2011 - we are expected to believe that the USA killed Bin Laden, & buried his body at sea - when they know perfectly well, that this, (lack of independent evidence), will cause millions to doubt that they really killed him. But, they 'buried' him at sea anyhow! They say it was to stop his grave becoming a 'Shrine' for fanatical Muslims. In fact, it is forbidden for Muslims to worship people via shrines. As the USA knows full well. I hear - over & over - that Bin Laden died in 2001. The CIA made us think that he was still alive, (fake tapes), in order for the 'War On Terror' to carry on. That's why the USA could not let the body be independently examined - it would be found out that they had not killed Bin Laden at all. We get the 'buried at sea' garbage instead. The people who Govern this World have long learned that so many people are either too lazy, or too thick, to think for themselves, so they tell us any lie to start Wars, carry on Wars, bring in tougher Laws, & so on. Anyone who questions the lies is called a 'Conspiracy Theorist' or 'a Nutter', by the gullible Millions who fall for any tripe that their Governments feed them. As one can see by those morons who have been dancing with joy outside the White House. What now, I wonder? At this rate the USA, will soon have World War 3. All they need is a huge 'attack' on the USA again, as an excuse to invade more Countries. (Where will the next 'attack' on the USA be claimed to come from? Iran? Pakistan? Syria? ALL of them? We are taken for mugs!). Still, if idiots fall for what liars in Government feed to them, then maybe Humanity is too dumb to carry on, anyhow. Maybe we have got the Leaders we deserve, & maybe it is better if our Planet ends up like 'The Planet Of The Apes', with our 'Civilisation' reduced to dust, & some other species taking over. I am just saddened at how gullible so many people are. The people who create, & feed us the lies, must think we are all insects. Sadly - many Humans seem to be. Gullible, stupid, moronic, fools, who are easy to manipulate. They may as well be Ants..... We will reap what we sow.....
