  1. Great to see the album at No 2 in the midweeks. Hopefully top 5 at least by the end of the week - if sales are close. I agree Jonmove - quality album!
  2. Love the new album. Every song a winner in my book. I especially love - Over the Rainbow, Solitaire and Dance with my Father. But loving the more classical pieces too. This is definitely the way for Joe to go with his voice. :)
  3. I watched Joe on Popstar to Operastar. He was brilliant. Given that he had never had any opera training in his life before - he coped with difficult arias wonderfully well. I am very much looking forward to this album - the tracklist looks great and from what I have heard so far - Dance with my father and She was beautiful - the songs are going to showcase Joe's voice beautifully. Good luck to him - I hope he gets lots more opportunities in the future. He comes across as a lovely young man and he has a great vocal talent. He deserves to go far. :)

I think Lee will be OK. He seems pretty clear in interviews that Musical Theatre is his first passion. I think it would be fine if he brought out an album of songs from the tv show and a Joseph album and maybe the odd album now and again - a bit like Michael Ball. I have Jason Donovans album from the Joseph musical - but would love to have one from Lee - I love JD's voice but prefer Lee's. :) Fingers crossed for Lee and Gareth that they both make the Top 10 at the weekend. :)

I bought Lee Mead's single today. He really does have a beautiful voice. :cheer: Close Every Door is excellently sung too - each voice quite distinctive. :cheer: The single is a nice one off keepsake for fans of the show and hopefully will make some money for Children in Need. I know Lee is a musical theatre performer and not intending to be a record chart artist but I am hoping he will do an album of songs that he sang on the show and also a sound track album for the new Joseph musical.
  6. Thanks for the link to Gareth singing Drive. Absolutely loved it! :cheer:
  7. Thanks Pearl. And I agree that what it's all about for Lee is landing his first lead role in a musical. The single is a sideline from the show that hopefully will make money for the charity the show supported and it's not about being No 1 or storming the charts. If it sells well children in need will benefit. So I hope it sells well. As for Lee himself - I think he is one of the best talents to come to the fore for quite some time and he comes across as a genuinely nice young man. He has a lovely voice and I'm looking forward to hearing more of it.
  8. Lee was the best singer and stage performer in the competiton IMHO. A great new star found. Good luck to him. I love his version of Any Dream Will Do and hope it sells loads and makes lots of money for the Children in Need Charity.
  9. I hope there is some truth in what Joe Mott is saying. I would love to see Gareth back again. :) I preferred his ballads. His voice seemed best suited to them. To come back and have success he will need a stand out single and a good album - I do worry about where he will fit in with the music scene as it is today. He never did it for me with Sunshine and the other songs like that - is there a market for ballads in the mainstream these days?
