Dana Rayne! It was very XTM, including the video animated in a similar style. I recently found out it was a cover of an 80s song that reached No.96 here by Starpoint. I guess most mid-00s dance hits were 80s covers so at least this was a reasonably inspired one.

At least unlike the follow-up single, Sunday Morning Call, Oasis didn't relegate Who Feels Love? to be an unlisted bonus track on Time Flies, so we know what the band's least favourite is! I presume they don't look back fondly on this album as nothing was represented on the comeback tour. They could potentially include Gas Panic on the next tour if they are making a lot of changes, although I'd like them to add Go Let It Out, which is underrated.

I've entered too and just went with the first thing I thought of rather than overthinking it. On reflection there's perhaps a few that fit better for the Buzzjack masses for a couple but I'm staying faithful to what popped into my head first.

Voted, very difficult not to dish out more 10s, I was generous enough as it was, what a band! Apart from one song which I dislike and have scored accordingly.

Oh no, well that really is the end of an era. Poor Anna Of The North has never done that well in BJSC with all her entries, and I guess this was a tough draw and a fairly subtle song. All that said, all hail to Hendinia for putting that run together, it will almost certainly never be seen again. An astonishing feat in a competition that is harder than ever to Q from. That streak outlasted five Prime Ministers and Covid. VERY. WELL. DONE. Sad it's over, but happy it happened.

Well done Cody, Cor Lupus never really sounded like a DNQ to me at all. In the end most of the alt/indie in Semi 1 did actually get through after all despite that draw. I had a hunch that could happen as despite there being a lot of pop, not all of the nations sending it usually vote for only pop. I really loved New Lex, it was so unique! Shame to see it go.

Aww, not Aeroche. I thought that was decent and quite likely would have voted for it if I was in Semi 2. Such a competitive one.

FARC was a very big sounding, and good, pop song. I hope Jake votes in the final, not surprised to see it get in with a deduction. Bad luck Klum, shame to see a DNQ run there.

Land of DW is great to see though as it was a tough draw but a great pop song rarely fails.

Going for my favourite song of 2008, that I first heard on MySpace in 2007 and immediately ordered the album from the US. Alone Again was ok. Didn’t it only narrowly miss No.1?

Keep growing Stop The Wedding! Great to see an actually brilliant, and new, song at No.1 for once. Filling the gap nicely in the absence of Chappell Roan this year.
