Ooh quite a swift recycle for Man/Woman/Chainsaw, hopefully you can improve on my 13th with them. A very inspired list overall, I don't think I've heard many at all so looking forward to listening.

I do like this track, and loved the follow up Friend or Foe, which flopped here. I guess at least they got one extra hit that avoided them being a one era wonder, the song definitely does sound like early Veronicas so the co-write there makes sense. Gomenasai probably deserved to be a UK hit too.

Very well although with one caveat - I ought to send more pop, which probably makes up a good third of my music listening but probably not a third of my entries. I am sending pop this time though.

Thanks Gezza, has been such a great thread to follow. Such terrible sales that week, I remember listening live and being surprised S Club 7 were still to come when they got top the top two. Shame they couldn't quite go all the way there. Glad Steps managed to avoid missing the top five too with that climb.

Be interesting to see the Three Lions boost. It took England reaching the semis for it to go stratospheric in 2018, but you could argue the shock factor of that happening at the time took it even further; the song was absolutely everywhere then in a way I haven't noticed so far this year. Since that point we've reached two Euros finals so maybe the novelty of getting so deep has worn off a touch. I think it would take England reaching the final for it to go to No.1 again.

Would love to see Paolini win personally. But Osaka was so impressive! That was a tough match up for a round of 16 for Sabalenka as Osaka's 14th seeding doesn't reflect her capability. You never really know what to expect in the women's game at Wimbeldon, the consistency of great consecutive results in this tournament seems almost non-existent in today's era.

Very Love The Way You Lie vibes with the rap/sung chorus here, although I guess that was a hallmark of the turn of the decade charts. Again, it's a track I like but don't love. Emeli's solo version was absolutely inescapable the following year.

Interesting facts about the 120BPM thing @Highway Unicorn ! And nice to hear about your associated memories with the songs @Paddington James . I'm realising that I liked but don't love the majority of 2011 No.1s. The Kesha and Olly songs are both decent but I wouldn't have ranked them any higher. Grenade, again, good, but I preferred Just The Way You Are by quite a distance.

Super impressive performance, especially with England being down to 10 for so much. Getting those two Bellingham goals in before that happened was such a boon. I wasn't able to stay up but put my phone on airplane mode and watched the replay from 7-9 on BBC2 so could avoid spoilers that way. It was a funny reminder how in this day and age spoilers are basically pushed to you left right and centre, as as soon as I turned airplane mode off about five notifications came in from various sources sent early this morning.

Ashlee's song is way better than that Mis-Teeq filler (probably the only one of their top 10 hits I don't care for). Boyfriend is another I bought at the time, I really liked Ashlee's music. The Tide Is High was a very fun cover that I've always been fond of. I liked the extra 'Get The Feeling' section.

Daz Sampson Going for One True Voice, both sides of this single were as exciting as watching paint dry.

You're A Superstar, such good memories, and a hugely uplifting dance track. Interestingly it was released in Canada in 1998, while Steal My Sunshine was released in 1999 in most places including the UK, so neither of the finalists was recorded in the 21st century.

Keeping it short (2.32) and returning to the pop bloc for the first time in a while with a charming song that interpolates Gymnopédie No.1. If it's a DNQ hat-trick then I may as well pack my stuff and go home.

Aww I really liked Perfection, the backing track is really good in that trying to recreate Lola's Theme vibe she was going for in the mid-00s. Over was a good track too, I bought both of these on single. The Louise track is ok, didn't really feel as big as the other songs that debuted in the top ten that week so it did well to get to No.5, partly boosted by that Don't Give Up song for Asda and the Tickled Pink charity (although new lyrics sung to the tune of the Asda Price song was such a corny idea).

Bravo Hits 134 tracklist is also out to compare. This is out 7th August in Germany. Strangely no DARA on here either despite it going to No.1 in Germany, so might have been a licensing thing. It looks better than the last one at least. Expected Bangaranga but never mind. At least it has some No.1s and also Bruno/Alex after they missed the last edition. I do like that they have included the retro songs not previously on a Now (Justin, Chemicals), rather than ignoring retro completely.

Just catching up - glad Dappy is out now, would probably be in my bottom five! Not a fan of his or the track. Three other good to really good songs since I last commented, I especially like Heart Skips A Beat, Olly and Rizzle Kicks worked really well together on this track and it's definitely up there with his best. Louder and Promises are both good but not exceptional for me, guess I'd rank them around the same area. Me & You by Nero was amazing though, and also Gold Dust by DJ Fresh brings back good memories of the time, crazy that neither of those were top ten hits.

Yeah not a great decision. Focus on sorting your issues to get longstanding countries back that mean something to Eurovision, don't look everywhere else to plug gaps in finances and country numbers made by your own terrible decisions. The contest is unrecognisable to me lately from the one I loved for over 20 years.

At least both examples prove it's still possible I suppose.

I bought this new release football compilation in Berlin yesterday (seeing as the latest Bravo Hits isn't out yet and I wanted something new). Usually Europe stick to the Queen Disc 1 track 1 arrangement like the UK, but they are opening disc 2 here unusually, because the Queen of FIFA is opening instead.

Not really keen enough on any of these entries to get too excited about them but Efendi's entries were definitely catchy and Mata Hari deserved higher than 20th. On balance though seeing the rest of the rank is confirmation that Drip Drop and Always are the only two entries of theirs I ever play these days.

I'm more interested in seeing the tracklist for Yearbook Extra 99 than Now 124. I can't imagine what on earth they're going to put on the latter, it's been not two months since the last dreadful volume and nothing much has happened in the charts while a song from Now 122 is still No.1! If they can't find a space for Delta amongst the alsorans then I'm done.
