  1. I went to Sweden earlier in the year and in a secondhand shop got a compilation from 2001, Absolute Music 38. I had the album on in the car a couple of months ago and it was mostly contemporary hits but this was on there too and stopped me in my tracks. It appears to be a 2001 re-recording of an acapella song that originated in the 80s and is now very famous among choirs who agree it is super hard to sing. I love it and I knew I had to send it somewhere. But wasn't sure where it would fit, but this 'weird and wonderful' theme seemed to fit perfectly. Glad some people enjoyed it like I do, it's such an earworm.
  2. This song was another beauty from Ane Brun, nice pick Nine.
  3. 10CC was one of the more memorable entries here, nice one Rollo. Julian's is great and deserves much more.
  4. Bit worried my song blended into the pack and could come last for not being weird. Interested to find out who sent what though. My anon contest prediction record is hopeless but QT, 10CC, Ane Brun, Army of Lovers, HMLTD and My Brightest Diamond I would imagine will do well.
  5. Hard to see what's coming up after the Yearbooks and 12" 80s Series finishes imo, I don't think they'll consider delving into the depths of the 90s and beyond as profitable enough to do 12" and Vaults for them, as much as I'd love to see it. This release looks decent enough. I never get too excited by the 12" mixes although there are some good ones.

Thinking a t-shirt that says: 'I won The Masked Singer... and now I am one'. I had wondered if they'd get the No.1 actually, Kasabian are on a much lower sale than I expected at this stage. Then again, everyone is, has everyone suddenly stopped listening to/buying music recently?

President ought to do something too but I guess the problem with being an anonymous act is that signed products are less of a draw. If only they were fronted by a very popular member of a boyband…
  8. Really good album, I'm very fond of Beautiful Love too. Some really strong production throughout the album, hope it holds up in the top ten. I already liked Upside Down and Just Drive anyway so was hopeful for another strong album.

Ouch, poor Ellie. Better for Natalie Imbruglia, nice to see her still getting hit albums. I bought both of these, and both are good.
  10. Burn is decent enough, it kind of just reminds me of robot Ellie meme though now. I never loved it like I loved Figure 8, which deserved to smash, or even her lovely cover of How Long Will I Love You.
  11. This is a decent album, I wasn't overly enthused by the singles but like to support Ellie anyway and some of the songs on the album are great, I like the ballads, Loser and especially For Your Entertainment, a great pop chorus on that. I bought the CD, and ofc the deluxe release three days later with six new tracks, many of which are strong, is annoying because it makes the original CD feel like half a product to me now. I probably won't buy a physical deluxe if that emerges.
  12. RontBet predicts a runaway win for Aeroche, and second for Ane Brun, followed (but not closely) by Cor Lupus. Neliönoir and The Spodic Empire also bound to be high. I'll try and make more sense of the other contenders probably after the semi results...
  13. Jolene but 9 To 5 is certainly a strong second. Both iconic.
  14. Yes definitely that Inna sound, and also I think it's maybe Good Times by Roll Deep (also from 2010) that I was thinking of with the chord change sequence and synths, specifically the music on that track underneath the rap part that goes ('splash dirty cash...'). Of course, Good Times was a BJSC winner, but this is going to have a catfight with Ane Brun and any other major contenders that emerge.
  15. This has a distinct 2010-2012 sound to it and reminds me so much of something specific that I cannot currently place. Anyway, I strongly thought about confirming it too but didn't try as knew I'd got to the thread too late. It's a smash though, RontBet predicts top five.
  16. Voted! I was so focused on not forgetting the mexican spices that I forgot I hadn't already submitted my votes. I really enjoyed 11 songs and several grew on me through the week so I was sad to leave one out but some very odd and also good stuff here indeed, overall I enjoyed the mix and theme. I wouldn't be surprised if my top two are high in the results, both very strong and sounds like they have wide appeal.
  17. I've got no time for this song at all, probably second last for me in front of The Stonk only. But agreed they had some good tracks in the 80s. And that chart run is something to marvel at for sure. Amazed that no song has had two weeks at No.1 and then departed the top ten as it feels like that could reasonably happen even now, with maybe an instant fanbase hit or viral wave getting something to the top (50-60k), tailing off but still enough to be in front on week two (35k), and then then dropping to say 20k in the third week and departing the top ten. I wonder how close Emma Bunton came to it sales wise in 2001. Not sure what the sales were like for No.8 where she dropped to and No.11 that week.
  18. The one that is last for me doesn't strike me as a big Jester classique, but we will see when it comes up. -- I really liked Happy at the time, but gosh, overplay definitely strikes with this one. Still, a good song is a good song and that chorus is so infectious for me.
  19. Congrats on the AQ and thanks for keeping me company in the 90s Eurodance bloc! Come Into My Life is a classic that was underrated in the UK. It has a similar vibe to this Italo Eurodance song from 1999 that I dearly love too. Weirdly I bought a Spanish compilation album last month that has Come Into My Life (and another of hers as Disc 1, Track 1), I didn't have it on any album before that. Coincidental timing.
  20. Woah-oh woah-oh woah After a triple DNQ, last month HENGE broke our poor run of form with a 4th place finish for Mushroom One. That song was from 2018 and now we are rewinding the clock by another 25 years and heading back to the Eurodance peak of 1993. Our third entry of 2026 from Sweden after DJ Suzy and Esther, we are rather hoping this one is better received than those two were. Pandora was never a megastar but did have one crowning moment with Trust Me, which features an uncredited but prominent rap from K-Slim. The video sees a bunch of men, one painted blue, frantically waving and bopping in front of the diva Pandora who remains still to deliver the iconic chorus that has gone hugely viral on TikTok, used in over 1.7 million posts and with heavy exposure in the animation, anime and My Little Pony communities among others. Trust Me was not a hit in the UK for Pandora (Anneli Magnusson from Västerås), but charted in the top 10 in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway and was also a small hit elsewhere, but it left a legacy in the Eurodance community. Pandora showed up at Melodifestivalen a few times in the 00s, as a competitor in the Eurovision national final, and more recently she performed Trust Me as an interval act last year. In 2025, a new remix, Trust Me 25, with dance act AKRAS, was also released, peaking at No.72 in Sovarasma. Away from Trust Me, Pandora is also known for recording the original (identical) 1999 version of Kylie Minogue's 2000 hit On A Night Like This and in 2007 made the headlines after noticing similarities between another 1999 song of hers, No Regrets, with Scooch's UK Eurovision entry Flying The Flag (For You). Ricardo Delta explains the entry choice: "FSR Rontvia has tried to send some fun and colourful entries this year, like Ya Habibi and Mushroom One, and now the brilliant Trust Me. A 90s staple for many Eurodance fans, it brings back memories of 2 Unlimited, Haddaway and Culture Beat - a memorable period for this genre. Trust Me failed to cross over at the time far outside of the European mainland but has built a bigger profile for itself since, as a viral sensation on TikTok, and even appeared on a UK compilation album a few years ago. We couldn't resist the opportunity to send the legendary Pandora, a throwback to some of the Rontvian entries of old, and we hope people can have a good dance to this one!" Trust Me has been soaring back up the Rontvian charts, where it has already returned to the top three this week as 2026's latest domestic TikTok revival. Original 1993 video Live at Melodifestivalen 2025
  21. Didn't do an awful lot for me on first listen sadly but I hyped myself up too much reading this thread before listening. Miley is fairly hit and miss anyway for my tastes but the last album was good and quite underrated. I still love Flowers too from the album before that.
  22. ^ Wild Orchid/Fergie. Raised an eyebrow of admiration when I saw it.
  23. Sent my answers. A good handful were guesses, some educated and some very much not. One I couldn't even begin to guess so have put down... an answer.
  24. I think I heard it on NMF the day it came out! And thought, 'oh this is nice, guess we'll see it confirmed in 5 milliseconds' 😂
