Mon beau flop Français <3 I know it probably looks mad to have changed away from Tove Styrke, but I had to self-veto after recalling that White Light Moment was in another contest that shared about 8 or 9 participants with this, so I didn't feel comfortable with the music discovery aspect not being there (despite this being a No.1 in France, I was confident it was not a widely known track!) I only discovered Nolwenn myself in 2019 but have been really addicted to the track ever since. But it's a grower more than a shower so I wasn't necessarily expecting much.

At a guess, I'd say the Swedish Idol stars Agnes vs Tove for the win, with Diana Vickers ready to pounce. But the results will be very interesting.

Very well done to the three finalists for playing such a good game. The semi-final was better than the final for me but a couple of songs I like a lot here nevertheless. At least Florence is still there to be used next time!

Killers is good, but I've always loved that Nerina cover, beautifully stripped back and emotional. It was very famously used in Normal People, as the video suggests there.

Grace Davies' album is available on CD, just only from her own website, my copy just arrived in the post yesterday! Great album.

Congrats to the four finalists! I voted for three of them! Cheiron is a loss though - that was my favourite.

Grace has got 10 BJSC confirmations already in the bag I fear. I loved this album and ordered the CD from her site. Super Love Me, MDE and Another Night are all quality singles but there are some great album tracks too. Hotel Delilah is quite something.

Yet Alcaraz won the last five of their meetings before yesterday, including the French final five weeks ago. So how is that first statement true? Sinner was great on serve for sure but I have seen Alcaraz serve better, definitely, before. Serve wasn't the only way in which Sinner outclassed Alcaraz for most of the match, the end of set stats showed that he was better on almost every metric in sets 2 to 4.

Definitely Santana. I didn't enjoy the Dolly cover at all.

Has to be poor Pixie. I loved the other singles from the album and did like this one but radio overplayed it at the expense of the other bigger hits.

Sticking with Run.

Stuntmasterz - for me a quite clunky mash-up in a time when mash-up culture was fresh and exciting. Friday Hill is far better. The two non-Kenzie members of Friday Hill went on to form Mojam, a Grammy award-winning songwriting and production duo who worked with Naughty Boy, Professor Green and Emeli Sandé. So Blazin' Squad's existence wasn't all bad.

I was never really into Dirrty despite Stripped being one of my all-time top 10 albums oops. I didn't get round to buying it until I heard Beautiful. Love all of the other choices, that's a great pick for Mary J (again).

Amazing form from Sinner today, stunning quality, as Alcaraz wasn't playing badly for most of it at all. Some of the shots both managed to get in at times were incredible. A deserved win though for Sinner. I can't understand how Dimitrov played so well against someone that has looked so dominant in every other game he's played in this tournament. I guess Sinner just found his game hard to read and/or was having a slight off day.

Shame to see Louise out, she was on a good run, but it's hard to see what song could have been picked next. The only realistic alternatives were a track from a recent album or Lil' Lou (which I love but doubt it would have got much traction either). CHVRCHES did pretty well but not sad to see them out 6th. Great to see PSB through and hope they are dark horses for the winner. You could basically pick almost anything from 1985-1993 from them and it would get through, they were that good. I'm less sure about their chances with post-1993 material although I love so much of it personally.

That was a very sad final to watch, felt very bad for Anisimova - I guess the body crumbles under pressure sometimes. But never thought I’d witness a double bagel in a Wimbledon final ever. I only had one hour free to watch yesterday between 4 and 5 and I didn’t expect to be able to see the entire match. She had been so strong on the run up to the final. Swiatek was so ruthless though, class player, at her best she is way better than Sabalenka for me so I hope she gets back to No.1.
