I would say placing in the draw doesn't matter too much. Imo it's worse to have something either very sonically similar or something that otherwise causes mega hype or controversy (good or bad) right next to yours as an overshadowing effect can take place.

I was in half a mind to confirm it but knew I was late into the thread and assumed DaTilt or Addy got it first after seeing it in their charts and didn't want to add to their veto points so decided not to attempt it and just get an immediate PM back anyway that it was taken. So yes, it could have had five (that we know of)! It is a potential winner along with Ane Brun (with the large caveat I haven't heard anything else yet), so I hope we are spared of the DNQ woes this month. It's a smash, well done!

I thought about adding a fourth one too. BUT I am just addicted to Pandora right now and was in a throwback mood and wanted to rejoin the dance bloc for a month.

The 2000 Mix of Fool Again is passable and has a bit more life to it than the album version that was used on all the compilations, as well as many of Westlife’s own hits albums (the 2000 Mix still isn’t on Spotify). The first ever concert I saw they were headlining as a last minute addition at a multi-artist show in Brighton called Music Jam. It was in March 2000 and they performed Fool Again there so it was one of the first songs I ever saw an act perform live so there is a touch of nostalgia there. But Never Be The Same Again is far superior, such a great song and collaboration and a very deserved No.1. Mel obviously knew what she was doing to keep the album selling as each single was getting better than the last! Glad she had the opportunity to execute that campaign and wasn’t swiftly dropped after Goin’ Down tanked after the first week. Some great records here, many of which became classics - Say My Name, Smooth, The Time Is Now. And so much girlband action! See Ya was always good fun and nice to see performances from Precious and B*Witched. The former was robbed of a place in the top ten with their Britney rip-off. The latter is catchy but I guess B*Witched’s 15 minutes were up. Also M2M’s Don’t Say You Love Me, what a song! Joining Lene Marlin to be two Norwegian radio strummers in the top 20 at the same time. Marion Raven and Marit Larsen both had fairly decent solo careers too, Marion guesting on a Meat Loaf top ten in 2006 and Marit having a wonderful European hit in 2009 with If A Song Could Get Me You. Savage Garden and N’n’G were both decent too, the latter a garage classic.

Shania I think although it’s entertaining. I like all of this list.

My bottom song (a dance song) is also still to come. But Under Control I would rank similarly to you if not lower. Nice for Hurts to get a credit on a No.1 but that should have been the epic Wonderful Life, not this near enough nothing of a song.

So this is one of the two songs I remember from the time in 1991 and it would be in my top five I think without looking at the list. Any Dream Will Do is a fantastic composition and imo works nicely in Jason’s hands, dramatic in the right places, the kids choir backing works well and I love the instrumental too. We did a production of it at primary school too so I got to know the song so well. I still listen to it a lot, one of about three Jason songs I actually enjoy (along with Especially For You and When You Come Back To Me).

Pleased Ella made it because Sienna is growing so quickly now so this could be the last week ahead for Choosin' Texas. It does deserve to be a No.1. @Hadji Now 123 has a No.1 single, update those iTunes reviews!

Could this be the first No.5 peaking song that has the number in the title? I know FourFiveSeconds was at No.5 during its run but didn't peak there.

Doubly so if Now 123 finally adds that all important No.1 single I'm not listening live, but presume Radio 1 didn't address the elephant in the room of why a very steady 23 week No.1 single would suddenly dive to No.7?

There is no way, at all, this box cost more than 50 Euros to make. Insane profit margin for them. Some fans have more money than sense.

My favourite single from them in some time. The folky tone of Paddy Kelly's voice really adds to it, and the chorus is very catchy. I don't think they need to pander to the modern short song trend though, a middle eight would have been a nice addition. Ditto with Sweet July, which was a strong single but too short.

I'll pass on the CD as I have the original deluxe but some interesting stuff to dig through on the new digital deluxe. The Freemasons remixes not being on here is criminal though. The Beautiful Liar remix was essential to the era and the Green Light remix deserved a home on an official physical release.

I hate The Stonk, definitely last for me, gah. Glad it's not a compilation mainstay so I don't hear it much although I finally got hold of Now 19 last year and it's on there. Do The Bartman I also only have once, on Smash Hits 1991, interesting that they got the license for it over Now and Hits. I don't really mind the track, it's quite funky in the chorus. As the show was only shown on Sky in 1991 as you mention Jim, I'm surprised it even had enough hype to get to No.1. Then again, I recall still being very aware of the show at this point - we used to have a GameBoy game, Escape From Camp Deadly, which also came out in 1991, so it was obviously making cultural waves very early on.

I like both of those but won't grumble with the positions. Counting Stars I especially like the 'take that money watch it burn' part near the end, but mostly it was so overplayed that I don't check it much now. What About Us is decent, but definitely not an essential Saturdays track for me. Glad they finally got a UK No.1 but I doubt it would even be in my top ten of their songs. They had some stellar album tracks as well as great singles like Higher, Up and Ego that should have peaked higher. I don't really get how it imploded so quickly after this with the ill-advised follow up Gentleman and a couple more singles. You'd have thought getting the No.1 would have been a major boost for them.

I've been streaming Ella today. I did love it about six months ago... not really checked it for ages but it's my favourite of the contenders and it's been one of the year's biggest hits so it's hard to begrudge it topping the chart. I usually love everything Sienna does but have struggled so far to see what's so special about Great Expectation that it should become her biggest hit. Wish it was Pure doing that well.

I Could Be The One would be in my top three, sublime dance song, and singer Noonie Bao's acoustic version is one of the most devastatingly beautiful pieces of music. Avicii was easily my favourite artist of 2013, topping both my end of year singles and album charts (albeit not with this song). The Monster is very meh compared to Love The Way You Lie, which should have been the No.1 hit. Impossible never gets any better meanwhile!
