    Analysis

     

    Album Chart: 1 New Entry, 3 Non-Movers, 5 Up, 11 Down…Slower than the last few weeks allows 5 albums to move back up the chart…The Pipettes, Carrie Underwood (on her 19th week in the bottom five of the chart), Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado all surge back up the chart adding to their impressive runs. Radio 1 live lounge and Shakira don’t budge…Sandi Thom an the Now No.1’s compilation move to the foot of the top 10 behind the highest new entry at No.8 for All Saints with All Hits…Popjustice moves down a place behind Nelly…MOS: The annual 2005 and Girls Aloud’s Best Of both clock up a 3rd week in the top 5 but fall to the bottom…Kellie Pickler spends a 3rd week at No.3 with Small Town Girl while last week’s No.1 Clubland 10 falls to No.2 and is replaced by All Saints new album Studio 1 which moves up from No.5 to take the top spot!!!

     

    Singles Chart: 3 New Entries, 1 Re-entry, 1 Non-Mover, 8 Up, 7 Down: 2 All Saints album tracks join the top 20 along with a Kellie Pickler track and Lily Allen who rejoins the top 20 with Littlest Things. Shakira, All Saints and Gwen Stefani all have tracks moving up outside the top 10…Kellie Pickler moves into the top 10 with her single Red High Heels while Girls Aloud and Shakira move down a place each after long runs, the latter on its 38th week in the top 20!!! Dance act Mason join the top 10 with Exceeder at No.7 while Kellie Pickler’s autobiographical ballad I Wonder is up to No.6!!! Bodyrox fall to No.5 from No.2 while Take That slide a place to No.4 with Patience…Nelly Furtado becomes only the 2nd act to score a 3rd top 3 hit of 2006 (after Delta) as All Good Things moves up to No.3…Beyonce spends a 6th week in the top 10 with Irreplaceable which surges to a new peak of No.2 which means that for a 5th week in total, Rock Steady is at No.1 for All Saints!!!

    I like nearly the whole top 10 this week...haven't heard the Elena one though although I did love her Eurovision song!!! Irreplaceable is really growing on me...I loved it anyway but I saw Beyonce live on sunday and she did a great performance of that track!!!

    That Kelly Llorenna song that doesn't go like "I will love again, tho my heart is breakin' I will love again, stronger than before"? If so, that song has been a hit in continental Europe by Lara Fabian in 2000.

     

    Cheers NS, You're exactly right...Kelly has covered the Lara Fabian hit...quite a nice version but I would like to hear it without the pitch turned up like on Clubland 10...Still another top 10 hit for Llorenna to add to her list in my chart!!!

    In another exciting chart All Saints look set to be joined in the upper reaches of the chart by Nelly Furtado, Beyonce and Take That but can any of these acts prevent Shaznay and the girls getting a 5th week at the top?

     

    The album chart may see new entries from some greatest hits compilations I won't reveal yet while big climbers are in store for Kellie Pickler and All Saints but can either of these topple Clubland 10 after just one week at the top?

    Having now bought te album and after seeing the girls live on sunday night...I can conclude that this is the best album I've bought in a long time...

     

    Get the DVD edition as there's a great interview with the band talking about the inspirations behind all of the tracks...nice to see they all wrote for this album too although Shaz wrote most of it
