    Analysis

     

    Starting with the DVD chart, Delta’s Visualise re-enters while Daft Punk fall from the top to allow Now 2006 to take the top honours. The album chart has just one new entry this week, but being a high one means that most other albums slide this week, even if the biggest fall is only of 3 places for Missy Higgins and Beth Orton…KT Tunstall’s Eye to the telescope amazingly climbs again and is the sole album to do so while six albums manage to stay where they are including Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Cascada and Shakira!!! The Veronicas start the top 5 with The Secret Life of…falling a place with Daft Punk’s Musique Vol.1 following it down just a notch…Carrie Underwood’s huge former No.1 Some Hearts dips to No.3 letting Now 63 to follow its predecessor Now 62 into a No.2 debut…this means that Nerina Pallot gains a second week at No.1 with the brilliant Fires!!!

     

    The singles chart contains just 3 debuts this week while a number of Eurovision 2006 entrants gain momentum and queue up for future entry just outside the top 20!!! Beatfreakz begin the top 20 with their new entry Somebody’s Watching Me, a cover of the Rockwell hit which featured vocals by Michael Jackson!!! Sunblock debut at No.15 with their cover of Robin Beck’s The First Time which is the follow up to their No.3 hit in my chart, I’ll be ready…Belgian superstar Kate Ryan scores the highest new entry with her poptastic Eurovision song Je T’adore which goes in at No.14!!! Elsewhere outside the top 10, The Veronicas have two long runners slide slightly along with two from Carrie Underwood on the way down...German’s Texas Lightning climb one place while Nerina Pallot’s All Good People shoots up to No.12!!! The top 10 starts with Shakira falling back a few and Infernal moving up to the top 10 with From Paris to Berlin!!! Carrie Underwood’s mega-hit Jesus take the wheel finally leaves the top 5 and The Cardigans climb back up a couple with their new single!!! Delta’s former No.1 falls to No.6 while Sweden’s Carola moves up into the top 5 with Invincible!!! Nerina Pallot’s ballad Idaho shoots up into fourth place while Embrace stay at No.3 with the anthemic Nature’s Law!!! Last week’s No.1 from Gnarls Barkley falls a place which means that last week’s no.2 Everybody’s gone to war climbs up a place to give Nerina Pallot her first ever No.1 and the double album and singles triumph!!!
