  1. Heat 3 is definitely the weakest so far, I'm not particularly loving any of the songs yet. Medina, Saga and Patrick Jean are all decent though, Saga probably my favourite of the heat as it's more of the same from Medina (but not as good as Que Sera for me). Eva is decent pop, I found Emilia a bit dull and Korslagda is my least favourite of the year so far, awful.
  2. Don't waste time browsing chart threads, come to the party to boost your street cred If you're online right now, then BOP PARTY is sure to wow
  3. Cascada again
  4. Yeah, it seems like it was Warner and a few from Ministry of Sound. I do still have the album on my iTunes, so we can see what probably would have been on Now 87.
  5. Thanks Andrew, that would be great if people are up for it. For ease of hosting it, the YouTube playlist is already in the opening post. I will try and get on.
  6. I reserved (and sent) Example four months before Watch The Sun Come Up was even released A lot of people were hoarding cheap/uninspired acts that others wanted to send (while others were understandably up in arms about this practice, but without a veto framework it was the Wild West so people took matters into their own hands to try and keep the contest from turning into the Radio 1 playlist). It was a very dramatic era to be a BJSC mod as you can see with a 39 page thread just to reserve artists. Some people even reserved artists in anticipation of a song leaking! (Jade Ewen's Punching Out was very highly anticipated pre-release). Looking through the thread it also seems to be the era that Silly Boy had leaked but people thought it was Rihanna.
  7. It definitely was, you reserved Girls Can’t Catch in this one!
  8. Didn't they lose the Warner license for one album only? Because Warner put Top Hits out digitally. So Now 87 was unfortunately quite weak due to that.
  9. 10 Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle 07 Sugababes - In The Middle 08 Kylie Minogue - Spinning Around 09 Rachel Stevens - Sweet Dreams My LA Ex 09 Avril Lavigne - Complicated 09 Atomic Kitten - Ladies Night 08 Destiny's Child - Survivor 07 Girls Aloud - Jump 08 P!nk - Get The Party Started 09 Mis-Teeq - Scandalous 08 Jennifer Lopez - Jenny From The Block 08 Holly Valance - Kiss Kiss 08 Lumidee - Never Leave You (Uh Oooh!) 08 Christina Milian - AM To PM 08 Anastacia - I'm Outta Love 11 Delta Goodrem - Born To Try 08 Hilary Duff - So Yesterday 08 Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent 10 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor 10 Amy Studt - Misfit 08 Emma Bunton - Maybe 08 Stacie Orrico - (There's Gotta Be) More To Life 10 t.A.T.u. - All The Things She Said No -1 as I don't think Jump would ever deserve that but it's a cover I never feel the need to listen to. Great album, not one I own although I think the songs are all covered across Now, Hits and Smash Hits albums.
  10. Voted for Believer.
  11. WoW73 has got the party started by arriving first with their vote 🎉 I'd better get my spread (sheet) ready before the other guests arrive.
  12. 01 Nik Kershaw - Gone to Pieces (top for the second round in a row for me, another excellent melody) 02 Guitarricadelafuente & Troye Sivan - midsummer pipe dream (good one, much better than the first round!) 03 David Bowie - Young Americans (a classic, of course) 04 Conan Gray - Killing Me (not as good as Actor but decent) 05 The Weeknd - A Lesser Man (can't recall hearing this before but it was good) 06 Troye Sivan - Strawberries & Cigarettes 07 Eric Saade - Every Minute 08 Shawn Mendes - Lost in Japan (Zedd Remix) 09 Ruel - Not What’s Going On 10 Fred again.. - Berwyn (all that i got is you) 11 George Michael - Freeek! (I always thought this was a bit of a misstep lead single personally) 12 Markus Riva - Forever (didn't do anything for me sadly)
  13. 01 Delta Goodrem - Sitting On Top of the World (wouldn't say it's my favourite Delta song, but it was a joyful and fun lead single and I do prefer it to the rest of this group nevertheless) 02 Michelle Branch - You Set Me Free (nice choice, didn't know this song but it's strong) 03 Kelly Clarkson - Gone (Not in my top five from Breakaway but still solid) 04 LiSA - Gurenge (紅蓮華) (enjoyed this much more than the song in the last round, good job!) 05 Chappell Roan - Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl (Chappell rarely gets it wrong) 06 Toni Braxton - You’re Makin’ Me High (good track) 07 Kesha - Blow (never been too mad on this, it's catchy but I prefer the similar style Till The World Ends remix she featured on) 08 Lily Allen - Who’d Have Known (interesting use of the Shine sample but I did prefer every other single on the album and a few album tracks too) 09 Nelly Furtado & Tiësto - Who Wants to Be Alone (an ok Nelly song but I don't remember any collab she did that I loved outside the Loose era) 10 FKA twigs - Glass & Patron (I didn't get into this too much in Bop Idol or again here) 11 ROSALÍA - DIABLO (this one isn't clicking with me but I really enjoyed her latest album!) 12 Nadia Oh - Taking Over the Dancefloor (not my cup of tea sadly)
  14. Oh yes, still stuck in Bop Party mode and forgot this is done by form. In that case enjoy watching the spreadsheet update live!
  15. Appreciate the heads-up. And good luck to your inbox at 8pm! There is absolutely no chance anything I will go for this month will be in any competition so I feel fairly relaxed. I should probably refrain from checking the usual playlists on Spotify this afternoon so I don't get tempted.
  16. Oh it's interchangeable these days, now the year of Blobby is over.
  17. 01 The Chicks - Not Ready to Make Nice (top marks as I want them to get through to the next round and this is an incredible song) 02 The Corrs - I Never Loved You Anyway (underrated single, 'yeah I'm delighted you're moving away' - very Alanis) 03 Ace of Base - Beautiful Life 04 Florence + the Machine - Queen of Peace (I had also forgotten about how much I like this one) 05 Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama 06 Blondie - Hanging On the Telephone 07 Atomic Kitten - If You Come to Me 08 HAIM - I Know Alone 09 ABBA - Hole in Your Soul 10 The 1975 - Love Me 11 Erasure - So the Story Goes 12 Girlicious - Over You (poor girls, this is ok but for me was a PCD b-side) Strong group, the top six is brilliant.
  18. Always Have, Always Will by Ace of Base was the first single I ever bought myself. Hope that shows up at some point......
  19. Addy - Ace Of Base (90s Europop, has to be) Julian - ABBA (I think others would play the hits but Julian starting with deep cuts makes sense) Herbs - The Chicks (can't see who else would send them) RobBot - Eric Saade (Scandipop stan) Dan - Nelly Furtado (I don't know who else would play a Tiesto song as a Nelly choice!!)
  20. Bright Eyes is lovely but I doubt I would put it much higher myself looking at what's left. Mike Batt is such a talented songwriter though. Cliff would be a few places higher for sure, one of about 10 singles from him that I really enjoy (to go along with the 50 or so that I don't...). He did have some decent tracks in the 70s and in the 80s.
  21. Wow, whoever got those three clues should become a detective. I was miles off.
  22. But without Pieces Of Me we wouldn't have this ultimate 00s moment: Kim-Lian was certainly a surprise addition to that album, I don't even recall the song having a UK push. Natalia 'Verbalicious' Kills in her post Jasper Carrott sitcom era
