My sister got me Sophie Ellis-Bextor as I was out of the country for RSD ❤️ That’s really all I wanted. I was vaguely interested by Loreen/Ólafur Arnalds but only for completist purposes, the music from this project is not massively appealing to me so while I did see it in Bengans in Stockholm, I decided to leave it.

Huge congrats and commiserations to Wardy, Jay and ElectroBoy, you did these artists very proud and that Conan song was yet another great discovery (second in my vote which was a surprise to me when I love all of its competition). Certainly am intrigued to see if the winner will really take it all or if Kelly or Lily can find a song to beat the unbeatable.

If I rise, we rise together To celebrate the beautiful Live at Union Chapel version of Frances' 2016 single Don't Worry About Me being released on Spotify after all these years, we have decided to finally send it to BJSC. Singer/songwriter Sophie Frances Cooke, from Newbury in England, released this beautiful piano ballad a decade ago, at which point it topped the Rontvian charts and was No.4 in our end of year chart, however we didn't send it at the time to BJSC partly because the song had reached the Radio 1 B-list and had been expected to chart, but didn't, although it made the top 15 in the Flanders part of Belgium. Frances subsequently had notable success as a songwriter for others, with writing credits for artists including Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, Grace Davies, Holly Humberstone, Maisie Peters and Elton John. Ricardo Delta reveals more: "Don't Worry About Me is so stunning but various things stopped us sending it at the time. It's no less beautiful exactly a decade on and with the version we absolutely adore now on Spotify we have been hammering it again recently, and the song has returned for another outing in the Rontvian top three. The live version starts off acapella, with Frances commanding the full attention of her audience, before the beautiful but hopeful piece builds, paired with a gorgeous vocal delivery from Frances. This is a bit of an old skool style Rontvian entry – it's been some time since we've sent a piano ballad (Freya Ridings is now eight long years ago) – but we're very proud to finally add this song, and Frances, to our canon.

Take That was actually my third thought on who to use here if I hadn't got Delta or The Corrs, but then I realised they have an artist forum. I love a lot of Mark's stuff too. -- I feel like all five acts are still in with a shot, maybe Scissor Sisters behind the chances of the other four, but I hope Lily can progress because Smile is one of my favourite songs ever, such a refreshing debut and style at the time and brings back such good memories of the amazing summer 2006 for me. So much hope in the air! Bit worried for her though, gah. But fully backing Conan and his mentor both to progress here and even to win this competition overall for converting so many new fans (getting this far with so few people knowing the songs is such an achievement!). I hope there is one killer song left in the bag in case he gets to the second part of the final.

Voted... Just when you look at the list and assume your vote is iron clad, Conan comes along with yet another blinder! Four of these songs are 10/10 for me, nightmare.
