  1. Eurodab is cool, reminds me of a Scooter track.
  2. Voted x 4 as couldn't decide: Sweden, Germany, Albania, Finland Loved them all for very different reasons with the rest of the pack a lot further behind.
  3. I love Albania, thought it was very classy and hypnotic production.
  4. Love San Marino, although I don't see it doing much. Hopefully Italy televotes give it a good boost.
  5. Yep, the guy in the middle:
  6. It was the theme tune to Italy's selection show Sanremo, weirdly.
  7. I don't mind if France wins in terms of me winning a decent amount of money. But it'll be joining most of the other 20s winners in not exactly being a big fave.
  8. KAJ <3 It will always be my winner of this year, really love it and it popped way more tonight than in the semi, I hope it's still in the mix.
  9. This could be an Ella Henderson hit! Or a Sissal hit, as it was the highest 'foreign' entry on iTunes before the final 🤩
  10. Armenia and Portugal the clear weakest songs for me oops. I thought Switzerland was lovely, but definitely not impactful enough for a high televote score sadly. Hope the juries back it in a big way. Malta is fun, as it always has been.
  11. Obsessed with Baller, such a great dance track and such a fresh sounding entry. Hope it is top half at least for Germany.
  12. Ich Komme was amazing btw, my favourite so far by a mile. Erika <3
  13. I suspect Italy could creep their usual top 10 place. It had some 'older audience and jury member catnip' vibes, with the harmonica authenticity too.
  14. JJ was very good obviously, and in with a shot. I'll never listen to the song as don't like the chorus, but the final 30 seconds is great and the whole thing was impressive looking.
  15. Yes. It was a good vocal and nice that we have a representative who can sing and perform but it reminded me of the Royal Variety Performance? When a cast from a musical turn up to do one of the songs but because it's out of context it feels a bit weird.
  16. Very passionately performed by Melody but Dime from 2003 still feels more contemporary than this.
  17. And that they are, looking at their rankings ha. It's fine, not amazing, not bad for me. Estonia is fun staging, although he is so irritating, but on so early I think to compete for the televote win. Should be top three televote though and a big post-contest hit.
  18. Parts of Kyle's vocal, ouch. This will be long forgotten by the end.
  19. Liz McClarnon on the UK jury. Bound to love the ballads! And the lead singer from Blossoms, might help out Lithuania!
  20. Agreed roughly with Liam's order, and that it looks like going one of four ways. Contenders: France - likely to storm the jury and I guess could get 200 televotes with where it is in the draw Sweden - still quite likely to win the televote, is going to to need to keep up the pace with juries with 150 at the bare minimum Finland - has been the dark horse in the way of it looked like she was coming lower half of the top ten for ages but actually pulled a winner's performance vibe out of the bag. If the jury don't undermark her then she has an outside shot Austria - Maybe a bit too divisive to win and an early draw won't help but if it's 'the chosen one' for the jury and they give it 350 then it could still win, I suspect they might look to France more than this Outsiders: Netherlands - could well come top five in both votes so could end up being a consensus winner Albania - likely to be the winner of Southern Europe and the Balkans who literally have nothing else local to vote for apart from Greece, would love to see this push for top five but not sure it's going to get loads of Western televote support Israel - Never count them and their supporters out, sadly Switzerland - I expect Louane will take the French ballad televotes and this (imo better song) will find itself with about 40 televotes and a very high jury score. In the mix for top five due to juries, but not the win. Estonia - terrible draw could harm its public vote a bit and juries won't love it, but it could be top three in the televote Would be fairly surprised if any of these miss the top ten. The other top 10 spot could be any of about 5 or 6 countries honestly.
  21. I’ve put all of my semi winnings onto Finland. As it’s the performance that really looks like a winner, but not sure the juries will really eat it up and it’s probably not got much chance to overhaul Sweden on the televote, so not sure how it does win exactly.
  22. I really hope it's not a televote zero. I could maybe see Australia lending a point or two if we're lucky. It would be nice to see the song appear in at least one country's top ten, it has charm, especially in the verses and I hate it when good performers get nul points (Embers deserved it, this doesn't). Agreed though that I expected a lot more from the staging, why is the UK team insistent on bringing one big prop that looks naff every time. A grand staircase in a house setting with Bridgerton style decoration (even as a graphic backdrop if not a stage prop) and wearing the costumes from the video would have worked really nicely.
  23. Final ranking: Amazing 01 (01) 🇸🇪 Sweden - Kaj - Bara Bada Bastu (still my favourite and most played song of the year, the novelty sheen from Melodifestivalen has worn off but I still love it so much) 02 (02) 🇩🇪 Germany - Abor & Tynna - Baller (insane studio track, a little bit less great live due to a patchy vocal but still solid...the most contemporary/modern chart sounding entry this contest has seen in many years and great German techno vibes) 03 (03) 🇦🇱 Albania - Shkodra Elektronike – Zjerm (yep, my favourite Albanian entry ever, edging out the 2004 debut after all this time! This is so brilliant and deserves everything) Great 04 (04) 🇫🇮 Finland - Erika Vikman - Ich komme (my favourite performance probably, she's absolutely brilliant - only the song not quite being a 10/10 apart from the last minute is what keeps it out of my top three) 05 (08) 🇨🇭 Switzerland - Zoë Më - Voyage (so beautiful and easily the better and more dynamic French ballad, in any just world this would finish above Maman - a really great host entry) 06 (09) 🇩🇰 Denmark - Sissal - Hallucination (it's kind of Euphoria-lite, in 2013 it probably would have been my favourite, but sometimes down the line Europop sung really well is all you need, it's very nostalgic sounding Scandipop for me) 07 (05) 🇬🇧 United Kingdom - Remember Monday - What The Hell Just Happened (very disjointed kind of track and possibly flattered in my ranking a bit due to being the home entry, but the second verse is one of my favourite parts of any song in the contest) 08 (11) 🇸🇲 San Marino - Gabry Ponte - Tutta L'Italia (quite the immense party banger, so glad to have this in the final, even if the studio is better than the live) Very good 09 (06) 🇲🇹 Malta - Miriana Conte - Serving (still fun but others have grown on me beyond this - Miriana is brilliant though) 10 (12) 🇱🇻 Latvia - Tautumeitas - Bur man laimi (I've always loved their vibe and they got it spot on, great choice from Latvia and I'm delighted they made the final) 11 (13) Luxembourg - Laura Thorn - La Poupée Monte Le Son (great job on this, fantastic staging that elevated it so much, it's a fun, classic Eurovision song too) Good 12 (10) 🇫🇷 France - Louane - Maman (there are parts of this I really love, the pre-chorus is rousing in particular, but I have an issue with the Maman chant chorus, find it a bit underwhelming) 13 (17) 🇳🇱 Netherlands - Claude - C'est La Vie (cheery and fun, kind of Stromae-lite sounding and not a big fave but I wouldn't have anything against it doing well) 14 (14) 🇱🇹 Lithuania - Katarsis - Tavo akys (very atmospheric, good indie track and stands out in the final) 15 (22) 🇪🇪 Estonia - Tommy Cash - Espresso Machiato (finding it hard to hate this, he's unlikeable but it's a massive earworm that's always in my head) 16 (21) 🇬🇷 Greece - Klavdia - Asteromata (really good performance, nice song with power) 17 (25) 🇮🇸 Iceland - Vaeb - Roa (a lot of fun, not something I absolutely love but glad they've made the final) Ok 18 (15) 🇺🇦 Ukraine - Ziferblat - Bird of Pray (studio of this isn't bad at all, I wasn't over fond of the live performance) 19 (16) 🇵🇱 Poland - Justyna Steczkowska - Gaja (she's so great but I don't get a lot out of this track personally) 20 (18) 🇮🇹 Italy - Lucio Corsi - Volevo essere un duro (has a classic rock ballad feel to it but definitely not a classic in Italy's catalogue) 21 (20) 🇦🇹 Austria - JJ - Wasted Love (technically impressive but not my cup of tea at all sadly, last 30 seconds are great though) 22 (26) 🇳🇴 Norway - Kyle Alessandro - Lighter (extremely basic pop for me and filler in the final but well done Norway for making the final after a mid MGP) 23 (31) 🇪🇸 Spain - Melody - Esa Diva (I just get nothing out of this - technically a good pop song and ... melody ...but the hammy kitchen sink oversinging spoils it) 24 (28) 🇦🇲 Armenia - PARG – Survivor (Imagine Dragons leftover, but staged impressively) 25 (30) 🇵🇹 Portugal - NAPA - Deslocado (I find this incredibly dull unfortunately) No 26 (37) 🇮🇱 Israel - Yuval Raphael - New Day Will Rise
  24. I wouldn't even know this was Rihanna apart from the vocal towards the end. The production is like 90s British dance (Underworld/Chemical Brothers) which is an interesting diversion but the song doesn't develop or go anywhere, and is a very odd fit for an animated movie.
