A big thank you to all 31 of you that have joined us for this great BOP PARTY, the sixth edition of Bop Idol! We put out an open call out for songs from any genre you like, as long as you can party to it and it was released between 2000 and 2019, and you all really delivered on that front, with the best of pop, dance, indie and so much more from years at each end of the spectrum to enjoy during this party. Ditto, this was a weird choice of cover although I think its release at all might be due to label politics that it happened. Miracle was on Data (Ministry of Sound), while the album and other singles were on AATW, so AATW needed a guaranteed hit follow up to Everytime We Touch but it wasn't up to them to release Miracle, so instead we got this cover (back in the days when covers were considered safe hits) and Data put Miracle out in the spring. I'd have gone for Bad Boy as the follow up to Everytime We Touch instead personally. Then again, Truly Madly Deeply ended up doing really well for them, so what do I know.

Loved Dance Wiv Me and bought it at the time, it was the first Dizzee single I really enjoyed a lot and the start of his imperial phase (loved Bonkers too and subsequently bought the album). I did enjoy Calvin from the word go though as bought the brilliant Acceptable In The 80s. I miss his nerdy and fun early phase a lot. Singin' In The Rain was fun and cool that it got to No.1, Mint Royale used to be an avid chart follower on social media so must have been elated.

Intriguing, submitted guesses but think I'll be a mile off. Also confirmed my song for round two.

I'm also so grateful that A*Teens were placed in the first heat so they could get that amazing comeback story of a No.1 single before the bigger hitters came through. In previous years where all the finalists went on streaming at the same time that never would have happened either so the timing all fell into place for them. As always I'm in awe of how big a deal it is in Sweden - 10 of the current Spotify top 12. But this is shaping up to be a strong year already - I can tell already that Iconic and My System will be among my top songs of this year (loving the Klara song too) and we still have three semis to come with some great names and a lot of promise. I think Melodifestivalen this year more than ever is a bit of solace for me in this chaotic and sad year for Eurovision as a whole and I will be sad when it's over as it continues to bring such joy and so much great pop. I haven't even started to listen to the entries confirmed for Eurovision so far, and unlike other years I'm not going to be devastated if my favourite songs don't make it out of their national finals (at least they can avoid the sh*tshow that is bound to be).

Certainly feels like hers to lose. That is KAJ style public appeal. It’s a great song and the staging is so good.

Fitting that the recipient of my 18 points is hosting <3 A Dalisska contest is very long overdue, to put it lightly.

Agree with this bottom two, both the clear weakest for me. One Day At A Time is such a dirge. Dr Hook has better songs I agree.

Have gone for Vik’s Rawcore with Double Clover a close second. Party Cells sounds fun, not into Long For sadly.

Corrs - a very underrated single that should have been a top five although I was glad to see it go mildly viral last year, it was used on TikTok a lot. The Eminem song is strong but not a fave of mine from him.
