Predict: Matt Cardle When We Collide opening and total sales
Ah, 'tis true. Unfortunately Aiden Grimshaw didn't win. I liked the fact Matt tried to go with an "I'm going to make real music approach", but in the end, 'When We Collide' pretty much a wet fish that doesn't have a patch on the original, which wasn't Biffy Clyro's best song anyway.

Record Of The Year [Group E]
If you imagine the first three songs on my list as "Quite Amazing Indeed", and then shove in a gigantic chasm that makes the stretch of the Grand Canyon look like the width of a strand of hair, that's just about how far away 'Baby' is from 'All Night Long', with Justin whining like a pig striving for air as Ludacris gives his testicles a good tug. Somewhere within the gaping hole of this giant chasmic abyss resides the loathesome Willow Smith, her "I just raided Claire's Accessories" fashion sense, and the entire collective force of The Black Eyed Peas, who've brought along Cher Lloyd for entertainment. Alexis Jordan is on her way up the better side of the cliff only to fall back down every time I hear the name Deadmau5. Eliza Doolittle has become a complete non-entity in the world of reality and flopped herself everywhere she can, as long as it's nowhere near the General Public's mind or eye. Mike Posner suffers the same fate for committing the ultimate pop crimes of being a "One Hit Wonder" and "Generally Not Being As Good At Trash-Pop As Ke$ha". And at the end of all that, it does leave you wondering what happened to Flo Rida. Well, he's currently occupied trying to get work with Susan Boyle, because she's just about the only person in music who he somehow hasn't collaborated with. 1) Alexandra Burke (NOT) ft. Pitbull - 'All Night Long' 2) Ellie Goulding - 'Starry Eyed' 3) Bruno Mars - 'Just The Way You Are' BIG CHASM 4) Flo Rida ft. David Guetta - 'Club Can't Handle Me' 5) Alexis Jordan - 'Happiness' 6) Eliza Doolittle - 'Pack Up' This is where things turn nasty: 7) Mike Posner - 'Cooler Than Me' 8) Black Eyed Peas - 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' 9) Justin Bieber ft. Ludacris - 'Baby' 10) Willow Smith - 'Whip My Hair' Hmm...

X-Factor Chart Thread (II)
So Simon can look good and prove his show iss big and manipulative of the UK Singles Chart, even though Willow's been at #1-#2 on the midweeks since Teusday? Of course, the general public won't know this. Mind you, that is The Daily Mail...

Take That Progress to 1m sales
Yes, yes, this is all very exciting and amazing and all the rest of it but, where does that leave Take That for the second single? It'll, most likely, barely reach the Top 15. Just look at the gap between the first two singles from 'The Circus': 'Greatest Day' hit #1, but the infinitely better 'Up All Night' stalled at #14.

Willow Smith - Whip My Hair
World's most shameful iTunes Top 2 in history? I think so.

New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 6 December
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has changed the title of her album back to it's 2009 work-in-progress title. 'Make A Scene'.

Adele vs Kesha
I'm hoping Adele for #1, but I can see Ke$ha just pipping her. Adele will probably land at #2 and do something like 'Teenage Dream' and stay near the tops of the chart for a while, but not actually hitting #1.
-
Who do you think will be the first new #1 track of 2011
'Grenade' should get it, purely because it's the only song in that list that's any good AND has a decent shot at #1. Unfortunately, White Lies' new song 'Bigger Than Us' isn't up to much but it would be brilliant if they could swing a #1 (quite a challenge, me thinks). Annoyingly, Cheryl's 'The Flood' could nab it from Bruno which would be both greatly disappointing and very expected. Her Majesty & The Wolves have no chance, neither does Adele (the song is flawless, but it's three weeks after the first week of 2011, and even if the new releases before then don't sell as much as the X Factor winner, the winner's sales will decline anyway, paving a quickie #1 from Cheryl most likely). So I choose 'Grenade'. This is of course, not taking into account the possibility that we could all be singing "A B-B-Bird, Bird, Bird" come Christmas Day. :nocheer:

iTunes Chart: December 2010 (I)
Tbh, Joe McElderry needs to get his ass in gear and start climbing. If only he hadn't released 'Ambitions' as the lead single. 'Wide Awake' is actually a solid pop album, albeit with far too much auto-tune.

Record Of The Year [Group D]
'On A Mission' wasn't exactly the portal to a fruitful follow-up for Miss. Cilmi now, was it? In fact, it may have gone Top 10, but it dropped like a stone afterwards.
-
iTunes Chart: December 2010 (I)
I can assure you Willow did not write that song.

Record Of The Year [Group D]
1) Gabriella Cilmi - 'On A Mission' 2) Diana Vickers - 'Once' 3) K'naan - 'Wavin' Flag' 4) Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg - 'California Gurls' 5) Taio Cruz - 'Dynamite' 6) Aggro Santos ft. Kimberly Wyatt - 'Candy' 7) Tinie Tempah ft. Labrinth - 'Frisky' 8) Alexandra Burke - 'Start Without You' 9) Owl City - 'Fireflies' 10) Usher ft. Pitbull - 'DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love' There's actually only two good songs in this category... Where's 'Fire With Fire'? 'Crossfire'? 'Witchcraft'? Y'know, the Actually Quite Good songs.

new coldplay xmas single
When a band is influenced by three or more band/previous artists, that is not ripping off. It's called "What normally happens in music". 'Viva la Vida'. How can you call that ripping of of U2/Lennon/McCartney/Simple Minds? If you can manage that then I challenge you to try and call it generic, unoriginal, uninspired or contrived. I don't see how using a full string orchestra, a church bell, and a timpani to make their music doesn't make them creative. None of those aforementioned bands ever discussed a historical concept like the French Revolution in their lyrics. The only Coldplay song I've heard that echoes the real sound of U2 is 'Lovers In Japan', which is just about the best Coldplay song there is in my opinion, so whether or not they seem heavily influenced by U2 on it doesn't bother me; it's still brilliant. I'm no fan of Coldplay, but credit where credit is due and all that. U2 have been better than Coldplay, but recent album efforts from both bands suggest U2 are losing their edge (no pun intended), and Coldplay are progressing and improving exponentially. 'Christmas Lights' however, is a bit on the naff side.

HURTS - All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day
It's such a shame this isn't chart eligible... How on Earth are they going to get it into the public mainstream now? Radio 1 certainly won't do anything for it.
-
2011 - Your Predictions?
Definitely. :L In my defence, 'Any Which Way' was only C-Listed (or so Radio 1 claims, I swear I heard it just once in the four weeks it was playlisted), and 'Higher' isn't released yet is it?
-
2011 - Your Predictions?
HURTS will release 'Devotion' and Radio 1 will playlist it thanks to Kylie. It will go Top 10 thanks to Kylie. It will jump-start their BIG TIME music career thanks to Kylie. They will become a household name thanks to Kylie. Radio 1 will act like they invented and discovered HURTS and will take responsibilty for their newfound success. Basically, I reckon 'Devotion' should get some release action goin' onnn. Of course, there is this to promote and release first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Nno9_Mptc Very exciting.

Olly Murs 'Olly Murs' Debut Album
Christ on a bike that cover is cheap. I'll give it a listen because I review albums and singles and I'll make sure to be unbiased, but his two single so far have received polarised reviews from me.

New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 22 November
I know 'Grenade' is confirmed to be the next single (he confirmed it with Digital Spy) but is there any news of a release date?
-
JLS "Eyes Wide Shut" feat. Tinie Tempah [3rd Single]
Someone get Calvin on the phone. First a woman-beater rips him off, now he's being plagiarised by a bunch of talentless idiots who I doubt could even name the genre of this song.
