Oh Santa is the WORST of the original material, but nice to see the album getting some love. It's second only to Wrapped in Red for top Christmas album for me.

I haven’t seen M since Rebel Heart, and the intervening years have not been kind, HOWEVER if she tours I will move heaven and earth to be there. If it is a damage limitation (GH) tour, I hope someone has a word and convinces her that a handful of reinventions is fine, but the bulk should be faithful renditions.

You would like to assume so, but given the general consensus in the midterms seems to be 49% of voters are happy with fascism (as long as it's being used to primarily disadvantage those they feel superior to) and generally denying reality, I wouldn't be feeling TOO HOPEFUL. In terms of what DeSantis has done, the Don't Say Gay bill and generally making Florida a right wing utopia is enough for me to be worried.

DeSantis is much more chilling a prospect than Trump, he’s a getting some (truly awful) stuff done and isn’t just using it as rhetoric. Trump being the candidate seems like the best chance Democrats have of winning in 2024 (assuming Biden runs again) and perhaps with strong coattails could hold the Senate.

Ideally a GOP lead in the house of 1/2 would be far more difficult and damaging to them given they’d have to appease the likes of MTG and Boebert and their specific brand of lunacy to pass ANYTHING. Nancy would probably be able to whip Dems into line enough if they do eke out a win, but probably better to have no expectations of being able to pass anything (and hopefully, therefore, no disappointment). Ultimately when all the dust has settled there’s going to be a LOT of lengthy articles and discussions around redistricting in NY, safe to says Dems would have the House sewn up if they hadn’t botched that so badly.

The obvious 2 songs leaving first. Did You Do It? is unlistenable tripe, but Secret Garden is solid enough. It’s just the calibre of song on the album is pretty high overall.
