There aren't many real artists around anymore, because to be a real artist you have to
- not have been associated with any talent show
- sing without autotune
- not have gone to the BRITS school
- not have been hyped up by Sound of 2011 poll etc.
- be able to play an instrument
- write their own lyrics
I don't like the terms 'real artist' and 'real music' that much, because people don't make it the hard way anymore and they need promotion like this to break through - and not everyone can sing perfectly and play an instrument. Writing lyrics is a hard task for some people as well.

24 - Britney Spears "Piece Of Me" (2008) (+33)
Who wants a piece of Britney? Well, people still did back in 08' when this out-peaked the debut single of number 2 album Blackout, 'Gimme More'. I imagine the peoples of Buzzjack would have been disappointed to see Basshunter beat Britney Spears to the top that week - as it was Brit's last chance of a number one single.

Love your chart :yahoo: Great number one, it's in my top ten this week
-
There's a possibility Kelly leaked the song 'Wash, Rinse, Repeat'. It's a hilarious song aimed at both her label and Ryan Tedder (after the whole 'Halo'/'Already Gone' controversy). (The lyrics are genius!)
 That is an amazing song. I hope her comeback is just as good - it probably won't be but she could become big again.

27 - Take That "The Flood" (2010) (+30)
Take That had the 2nd fastest selling album (first week sales) ever and a sell out tour, so why didn't they get a number one single? The first week they were beaten by Buzzjack favourite Rihanna (who still has some songs coming up on this countdown) and on the second week they were beaten by Buzzjack hate figures JLS. Take That were able to stay at number 2 for a second week thanks to their first performance of TF on The X Factor but JLS performed on the same show. In 'The Flood's chart run it stayed at number 54 for 3 consecutive weeks - not as impressive as RTW's 5 weeks at 83 but still good.

Some shockingly awful ones there (Rona Keating, both James' etc.) but it has started to get better recently with Abba, MJ and Eminem

It bombed horribly in the USA and I suspect it'll do similarly badly here. This era isn't going too well for Guetta so far.
And deservingly so - Guetta is so 2009 and he sadly hasnt moved on - all his new songs sound the same and he isnt going in a good direction. Having said that, he did produce 'Sweat'

Quite a few of these are autoqualifiers...Speaking of the autoqualifiers, Emma Bunton's 2000 song is listed as 'What Yook You So Long?' Wasn't it listed like that last year as well?
Theres a long list of qualifiers so I just picked out the ones I werent so sure about. And i updated it quickly after posting to add some other songs that came to me like 2Pac's Ghetto Gospel, which is one of the best rap songs of that year

Ive looked at my top 50 dance songs and am nominating the appropriate ones - sorry if its already been said
2001
PPK - Resurection
2003
Benny Benassi - Satisfaction
2004
Eric Prydz - Call On Me
Chemical Brothers - Galvanise
The Lovefreekz - Shine
2005
2Pac feat Elton John - Ghetto Gospel (not a dance song but it has to have at least a chance in the qualifying round - very underrated rap song)
2006 - i know i shouldnt have over 3 but this was such a great year
Bodyrox ft luciana - Yeah Yeah
Calvin Harris - Acceptable In The 80s
David Guetta - Love Dont Let Me Go
Fedde le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
Sunblock - I'll Be Ready
2007
Fedde le Grand - The Creeps
Fedde le Grand - Let Me Think About It

29 - Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx "Gold Digger" (2005) (+29)
The Daft Punk sampling 'Stronger' is his biggest hit, but this is not far behind. Kanye missed out number one because of the new girlband sensation... The Pussycat Dolls - which of course featured Nicole S. This was the biggest hit for Jamie Foxx, when he went solo he only made 16.
-
30 - Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys "Empire State Of Mind" (2009) (+28)
Jay-Z's comeback single 'Run This Town' reached number one - but ESOM is much more popular despite missing a week, because of Taio Cruz who would take over the US in 2010. The song features Alicia Keys, who would later release her radio friendly version of the song and make number 4. Jay-Z's version always remains the best, but sadly it will be forgotten over ESOM(PII)BD in the UK.
