  1. I don't think I've ever been disapointed with a BEP single since they their commercial breakthrough with WITL in 2003 :o I love every one of their singles (except Don't Lie which was a non-event imo)

  2. I'd HATE to live in Australia if I had to put with PRA at number 1 for SEVEN weeks :drama: Champagne Showers is growing on me lots though! Oh, and US have a worse top 10 atm - only because it has 2 versions of some awful country rap :puke: It's by Jason Aldean, he had a hit with Kelly Clarkson not long ago which I LOVED but this is awful. Ludacris is on a remix of it too

I would have loved to live in down under this year, where S&M got 5 weeks at number one, BTW got a week, PRA having 7 weeks and also Dirty Talk being number one whereas over here it was a big flop. Unfortunately Grenade still got number one there :(

It's a good thing you don't live in my country, where PRA was number one for EIGHT weeks (btw I'm talking about my made up country, not the UK )

  3. I hope they don't, it's possibly their worst single to date. It's everything popular in the past 12 months thrown into one 'song'.

I guess I Gotta Feeling is to blame for the whole 'club banger' craze we've had since, although admittedly far more recently - it always takes artists/record companies a while to react to the success of a popular sound and for the identikit copies to arrive. But Don't Stop The Party really is a nothing of a song for me, consider the party stopped if I ever hear it on in a club, I'll be tempted to walk out

Why is every BEP song their 'worst single to date'. I actually like the song, although it does go on a bit too long (6 minutes) :drama: The BEPs of course haven't matched their The E.N.D. singles but they've rushed their new album to stay relevant. I'm sure their next album they'll have more time to do and it will be better :D

    Great Chart :D

  5. OK fair enough, there is clearly a 'song' literally there though

do the BEPs have a video out? if not, this could be another top 5 hit for them when video play starts :(

Not the best of their videos, it's just footage, nothing exciting:

  6. ·

    Edited by danielMFAO

Rihanna will probably feature a lot in this competition, actually.

She's got 6 entries in this rate! It would be seven if S&M made at least a week at number 2  I think all these will get through to the finals or wildcards except PDR and RR (we already know 'Unfaithful' and 'SOS' have made it through)

    2005 Rihanna 'Pon De Replay'

    2006 Rihanna 'Unfaithful'

    2006 Rihanna 'SOS'

2008 T.I. feat. Rihanna 'Live Your Life'

    2009 Rihanna 'Russian Roulette'

    2010 Rihanna 'Rude Boy'

2010 Eminem feat. Rihanna 'Love The Way You Lie'

Edit - forgot about 'Love The Way You Lie' probably the most obvious Rihanna number 2 as it was YE number one last year

Edit - taking a look at the 2009's number 2s, Rihanna has a big chance in that actually. I predict these seven to go through

    1. James Morrison & Nelly Furtardo – Broken Strings

    2. Kid Cudi vs Crookers – Day N Nite

    3. Taylor Swift – Love Story

    4. The Saturdays – Just Can’t Get Enough

    5. Noisettes – Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)

    6. La Roux – In For the Kill

    7. Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror

    8. Mr Hudson feat Kanye West – Supernova

    9. Sugababes – Get Sexy

    10. Jay-Z feat Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind

    11. The Saturdays – Forever Is Over

    12. Robbie Williams – Bodies

    13. Westlife – What About Now

    14. Leona Lewis – Happy

    15. Rihanna – Russian Roulette

  7. You'll be surprised to hear as of Eric Blob's votes there is a grand total of ZERO females in the top 6 (Mariah ruining it at number 7), even BJ favourite Rihanna is nowhere to be seen in the wildcards, let alone the final. The BJ stereotype has been broken this round :P
  8. Is it this one then? I can't find the radio edit, but I can find the club remix.

This is a good remix, I heard it on Ready For The Weekend with Scott Mills. SFTTR is at 37 on iTunes, I think it could be another T10 for her, possibly T5 but her album sales are so big that T10 will be an achievement.

I think I have a song by Avicci actually. From Clubland 18, which Sebastien Drums, called My Feelings for You?

If that's the guy, I quite enjoy that song. Although it is quite generic. I doubt that's his best work though.

   I love that song, it reached number 2 in my personal charts. I have it on Clubland 18 and I also bought the club mix when it was released in December last year. I wouldn't call MFFY generic, especially as it missed the UK Top 40 and was a big club hit (of course that's just me assuming, I've never been to a club because of my age ofc :P)

Here's another song by Avicii that did make the top 20, let alone T40. Yes it says Tim Berg, but TB and Avicii are the same person.

:) Hi, this is my 42nd week of chartz, this week Pitbull kills off new competition from Clokx and scores a second week at the number one spot. And for the first time in 10 weeks, LMFAO exit the top 2 and are down to number 3 with mega-hit 'Party Rock Anthem'. Alexandra Stan spends a 7th week in the top 5 with Example finishing the big 5. In the top 10 Snoop continues his climb, swapping with GaGa album track 'Schiesse'. A new entry in the top 20 comes from Ludovico Einaudi - who plays the piano and is set to enter the official T40 thanks to R1 DJ Greg James. DJ Fresh gets a second T20 hit this week and there are new entries from Nicola Roberts, Coldplay and more.

  13. But surely that assumes that people will suddenly start liking a song *just* because it's on their front page? ISTM people either like a song, or they don't, with the chart position being very much a secondary consideration.

Besides, it doesn't seem to work for OAOS songs that reach the iT top 10, e.g. Coldplay - it doesn't stop them from dropping steadily...

No, but being on the front page of iTunes gets your song noticed, so if for example Dev gets T10 and on the front page - people will go on the front page, see Dev's name and think 'oh, she's that girl from Like A G6, I gotta check this new song out' and buy it, or see the words 'Tinie Tempah remix' and think 'I love TT, I betta check out dat song'

And what comes up must come down, so of course Coldplay are going to drop, especially as they are a fanbase act.

This was a mega-hit with an amazing video around the world in 2004. I started watching the charts around that time and this song defines that year. It is a classic and definately wins the best dance song prize of 2004.

This is my favourite Chemical Bros song by far, it's got a great beat with excellent rapping - it's one of the best songs of 05' and it's very underrated compared to some of their other songs

This is a 21st century number twos rate using every song that hit number 2 in the 2000s and 2010s. What will happen is there will be 11 rounds, round 1 being 2000, then 2001 etc. up to round 10 which will be 2009. Round 11 will be 2010 and 2011 combined as there are not enough songs from 2011 to have its own round. The top 4 from each round will go straight to the final, and 5th to 7th placed will go in a "wildcard" round. But, to spice things up we will not go in order of the years. Now you know why this isn't round one (I haven't missed it out, but will go back to it later)

The top ten songs from the "wildcard" round will be put into the final round to make a top 54 of the decade. You will vote from 54, but four unlucky songs will miss out on making the top 50 in the results thread. This will be the last rate of the ultimate 'series'.

How you rate the songs; exactly the same as last time, you do not rate every song that hit number two, you just rate your ten favourites and your least favourite. You give +15 points to your favourite song, and the rest are as follows; This is to hopefully stop ties from happening inside the top 3.

    +15 Favourite Song

    +12 2nd Favourite Song

    +10 3rd Favourite Song

    +08 4th Favourite

    +06 5th Favourite

    +05 6th Favourite

    +04 7th Favourite

    +03 8th Favourite

    +02 9th Favourite

    +01 10th Favourite

-02 Least Favourite, or Most Hated depending on what way you look at it

These are the songs you need to rate from. You have 2 days for every round to rate. This means the deadline is Friday morning and hopefully the next round will be up by then.

    47. Pitbull feat Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer - Give Me Everything (24) (CR-53-53-50-50-36-23-19-24-47) Sad to see this fall so fast. It's a great tune and my current number one

    70. Vato Gonzalez feat Foreign Beggars - Badman Riddim (70) (CR-74-70-70)

    72. LMFAO feat Natalia Kills - Champagne Showers (72) (CR-72-72)

    Nice chart! :D

  19. Some of the songs that I think MIGHT be on it:

Lady Gaga - Born This Way

    Rihanna - S&M

Britney Spears - Till The World Ends

Adele - Rolling In The Deep

    Adele - Someone Like You

    LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem

Not so sure on TTWE as it missed T20 but is a possibility , and btw RITD was on the last Now! compilation. Im hoping Now! put on some new tracks and don't throw on a load of good songs that I already have and other old songs that no one cares about anymore.

  20. 13 - The Lovefreekz "Shine"

    UK - 6-16-24-32-50-63-x (6 weeks)

Another song with a large sample, this time it samples ELO. This version is a great house/dance song and the video is great, I started rollerblading around that time so that video was probably inspiration (but it wasn't the reason I started rollerblading ofc). It is the 2nd best song called 'Shine' that I know of, Take That's song of the same obviously being first.

    14 - Beatfreakz "Somebody's Watching Me"

    UK - 21-3-4-5-11-17-28-24-23-27-30-35-47-56-71-x (15 weeks)

The video is a spoof of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', but the song itself samples Rockwell's song of the same name. It is imo one of the best 80s samples, but there is more to come.

15 - The Ian Carey Project "Get Shaky"

    UK - 10-9-10-11-18-19-24-26-30-29-35-43-58-69-74-x-77-x (16 weeks)

This was a massive hit down under, spending 2 weeks at number 2 on the Australian charts. It took a while for us to catch on, but luckily we did - because it's a great tune, even if the lyrics are cheesy.
