ugh... looks like LMFAO for a 3rd week, talk about the worst #1 you can have on my birthday week for week ending 30th April.
Talking about birthday number ones, I was really lucky last year to have Flo Rida at the top, I was worrying all week that The Saturdays would get there (I would have worried anyway, but because it's on my b'day it makes it worse)
:yahoo: Anyway LMFAO at number one again is a good thing (for me), who will knock off LMFAO is unknown and unpredictable (there's lots of possiblities) so the chart should be interesting the next few weeks

This is a 90s number twos rate using every song that hit number 2 but failed to go to number 1 in the 1990s. What will happen is there will be 10 rounds, the first being 1990, then 1991 etc. up to round 10 which will be 1999. The top 4 from each round will go straight to the final, and 5th to 7th placed will go in a "wildcard" round. The top ten songs from the "wildcard" round will be put into the final round to make a top 50 of the decade. After the final the next rate will be 00s number 2s
How you rate the songs; exactly the same as last time, you do not rate every song that hit number two, you just rate your ten favourites and your least favourite. You give +15 points to your favourite song, and the rest are as follows; This is to hopefully stop ties from happening inside the top 3.
+15 Favourite Song
+12 2nd Favourite Song
+10 3rd Favourite Song
+08 4th Favourite
+06 5th Favourite
+05 6th Favourite
+04 7th Favourite
+03 8th Favourite
+02 9th Favourite
+01 10th Favourite
-02 Least Favourite, or Most Hated depending on what way you look at it
These are the songs you need to rate from. You have 2 days for every round to rate. This means the deadline is Tuesday morning and hopefully the results will start by then.
VOTE from the final list (the list in pink) There are 50 wildcards and there will only be one winner

atm, I think LMFAO will be number 1 until May 1st when Example releases his new song (although there doesn't seem to be that much hype) of course this isn't taking into account the fact Beyonce's video may give the song a boost, lady gaga may have a BGT/video related boost, Nero pull off a shock or Chris Brown keeps climbing
Example isn't released until June iirc - it's because of 'Unorthodox' and he hasn't been playlisted with his new song yet on R1

I have to agree with most people when they say Me And You is far better than Guilt, but Nero deserve a top ten hit just to help dubstep music get more in the mainstream. It would be great if LMFAO could get a third and fourth week at the top, but with GaGa releasing her video, Beyonce's new single out and Chris Brown climbing up a fourth week looks unlikely but still possible.
It does seem weird that their less mainstream song 'Guilt' has a chance of outpeaking their more commercial and far better 'Me And You', plus Guilt has had much less airplay, and Nero aren't a big name

Interesting fact: Drake's verse on What's My Name? was originally just a remix, but they liked it so much they made it the single version and even included it on the album. Drake's verse really offered a lot to the song tbh, not only for the clever 69 and "ate-something" joke, but simply in the context of the song. Drake's verse describes foreplay, which is why they have it at the beginning of the song, instead of during the bridge (which is the orgasm).
I love Drake's part on WMN - of course Rihanna is great but I probably wouldn't have loved the song as much as I did if Drake wasn't on it. It's original, because in most songs with featured rappers they rap on the middle eight so the singer can't do one him/herself but in WMN you have a rap and a middle eight by Rihanna - both are great parts of the song, cos Rihanna unlike many other singers does a great job at it (the middle eight to the new Britney song is literaly "ohh oh oh oh oh oh ohhoh etc.") Drake deserves some of his own hits, 'Forever' by him and three other artists sadly missed the top 40.

Glad J Lo is back up to 2, hope it climbs back up in the official chart.
Same here, Wretch 32 is such an average rapper, "Traktor" was a better song for me and that is now boring. Hopefully he'll be forgotten this time next year, Example doesn't save the song and the production isn't very good either. "On The Floor" however is one of the best songs of the year :D
-
I do see what you mean, but imo he is alright in this song. He's pointless in songs like On The Floor though, and most of his other songs are awful too
I like Pitbull on "On The Floor", it's songs like DJ Got Us Falling In Love and I Like It where his verses are pointless. Pitbull's own songs aren't as good as they used to be, I really like "I Know You Want Me" and "Hotel Room Service" - except for HRS the original (The Nightcrawlers "Push The Feeling On") is 10000x better :D

What does everyone think Judas' peak will be after the video is released?
I think it will go to number one with massive pop bars, crashing iTunes and selling 200k in a week.
:kink:
Only joking, being serious now it should go back to the top 5 on iTunes and peak at 3/4. The video better be good, it should be released this Sunday as that will create more controversy :D

Great chart! :D I can't believe how long you've been charting some songs! 33 weeks! :o That's pretty much how long your chart has been running for  One thing though, how come 'Run The World (Girls)' is #35 on your 'favourite' chart, and #10 on your hate chart? That just doesn't make sense!:lol: It may not make any sense but I like the song because of the sample of Pon De Floor, which I also charted, but I don't like it because Beyonce ruined Pon De Floor and could have been more original - so I decided that I sort-of like it but at the same time am annoyed because the song doesn't sound good for a comeback.
Is there such thing as liking and disliking a song? Anyway it's the first time it's happened and it could possibly happen again. I think Beyonce will move off the hate chart when it grows on me next week :D
Thanks for all the comments. My chart is proving to be popular :cheer:
-
I'm not sure if Replay will get forgotten. I hope it does, because I hate it, but it was SO big at the time. As someone else said, that woman in the music video was probably partly responsible for the song's success.
This. The song was incredibly popular at the time. Maybe adults will forget it (most of them probably didn't know it in the first place though ), but I'd imagine most people in my school still remember it vividly.
I remember when it was released it had massive first-week sales too. It was really hyped up.
She does look great though

Anyway this isn't Celeb Crushes so to get back on topic, I will say that it's 'massive first week sales' were around 100-110k, which is good for a January single (not as good as Grenade)
iTunes Chart: April 2011 [III]
in UK Charts
'Dirty Talk' is a good song and deserves to be a hit. It was number one in Australia, and non-worldwide songs rarely get number one there (I mean songs that aren't popular in a lot of countires, Australian number ones are usually big American songs)
The big shame this week is that Alexandra Stan is flopping with 'Mr Saxobeat'. It could have easily been a Summer anthem here like Stereo Love but R1 decided to ignore it and playlist the boring Inna who has released the same song for a 4th time (Hot, Amazing, Deja Vu and Sun Is Up do sound really similar)
