Great chart! :D I can't believe how long you've been charting some songs! 33 weeks! :o That's pretty much how long your chart has been running for  One thing though, how come 'Run The World (Girls)' is #35 on your 'favourite' chart, and #10 on your hate chart? That just doesn't make sense!

 It may not make any sense but I like the song because of the sample of Pon De Floor, which I also charted, but I don't like it because Beyonce ruined Pon De Floor and could have been more original - so I decided that I sort-of like it but at the same time am annoyed because the song doesn't sound good for a comeback.

Is there such thing as liking and disliking a song? Anyway it's the first time it's happened and it could possibly happen again. I think Beyonce will move off the hate chart when it grows on me next week :D

Thanks for all the comments. My chart is proving to be popular :cheer:

  3. I'm not sure if Replay will get forgotten. I hope it does, because I hate it, but it was SO big at the time. As someone else said, that woman in the music video was probably partly responsible for the song's success.

This. The song was incredibly popular at the time. Maybe adults will forget it (most of them probably didn't know it in the first place though ), but I'd imagine most people in my school still remember it vividly.

I remember when it was released it had massive first-week sales too. It was really hyped up.

She does look great though

    http://hw-static.worldstarhiphop.com/pics/images/tp/308jnso.jpg

Anyway this isn't Celeb Crushes so to get back on topic, I will say that it's 'massive first week sales' were around 100-110k, which is good for a January single (not as good as Grenade)

  4. Flo Rida is the worst artist. Ever.

For me (and the UK) he is very hit and miss. I got Now 78 today and listened to "Who Dat Girl" and I couldn't say it was good. Flo's verses are so average, and Akon's chorus isn't that great (he used to be good but I don't really like new songs with him in it) - the only exciting bit of the song is when Akon says "she ain't a rockstar but she got boobies", yep that means it's not a very exciting song at all, it may grown on me but probs not. The production of the song is nothing like his three big hits and Flo can do so much better.

"Low", "Right Round" and "Club Can't Handle Me" are in my favourite songs of the years they were released in, especially the first two. Amazing songs all of them and it proves that Flo doesn't need an average singer like Akon to do his chorus for him as he sings 'just about' all of the song in his great songs (I say just about because T-Pain plays a small part in "Low", Ke$ha in "Right Round" and an uncredited female singer in CCHM)

    And Broken Arrow .

Broken Arrow was THE end of her career, I don't think she'll ever come back big. It's just a shame she ended on such a rubbish song imo, she was just desperate for more album sales before she faded out of the public eye. Cry Me Out should have been top ten, it is better than Gravity and Turn It Up imo, and I think it sold well for a number 12 single (I read somewhere it outsold Boys and Girls, or got close)

  6. on the iyaz talk: Pyramid (Surprisingly decent)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Solo>Replay> So big (all were vile :puke:)

Iyaz is sort of a two hit wonder- both said 'hits' though will soon be forgotten

"Solo" is already forgotten lol, but Replay will soon follow, it's like getting no airplay at all now so it won't go down a classic. I dislike all Iyaz's songs except Replay, well I liked Solo at the time but it's so forgettable so I don't like it now

  7. But yeah, he is like nowhere. I do wonder why Replay was such a big hit tbh. It's an appalling song imo, not to mention really generic and ordinary, and was released by an artist that nobody really knew beforehand. I wouldn't be half-surprised if Apple donated some money to help promote the song in this case. :kink: Seriously though, I hated this song. It wasn't even catchy or anything. The only bit I remember was when he said something about a symphony and then some strings played for a few seconds or something. You know a song is dreadful if that's the most interesting bit! :drama: Sorry if anybody likes Replay btw.

I guess part of this depends on whether you'd consider Solo to be a "big hit" though (it was certainly a better song). And I think Pyramid (aka No Air, Part II) and So Big (aka Solo, Part II) were in the chart at the same time, so he was moderately relevent for a few weeks back then.

If you asked 100 people to name an Iyaz song, most would say "Replay". I wouldn't call Solo a "big hit", it was very front loaded you can tell from the chart run (3-10-20-27-37-39-43-53-58-71-92-x). You could say he was moderately relevant but it was a shame that he couldn't make another big hit, maybe because the UK agrees with me when I say all of Iyaz's songs aren't very good except "Replay" which is great.

And lots of songs get released "by an artist that nobody really knew beforehand" and are big hits, yes it was catchy and generic but good at the same time. I think Iyaz isn't that successful anymore because he can't make a good song

I am no fan of Alicia Keys, her songs are just boring and ESOM[PII]BD was so overplayed and it got boring - great thing they didn't release Rihanna's solo version of LTWYL (and made it album only) - S&M wouldn't have done as well as it did if they did. Alicia's best solo song for me is Fallin', and even that isn't great. TSWABH shouldn't have been top ten, I don't like it much and didn't really like it at the time

Iyaz is definitely a 'one massive hit and no other big hits' artist - his new song 'Rule The World' got released on 19 April with zero hype and it's doing nothing on iTunes. I only found out he had a new single today when I got an 'iTunes reminder'. Who would have guessed he would be this unpopular this time last year?

    - yes i know it's off-topic but what the hey. To be on topic I will point out that Beyonce is number 6 :P

  11. danielG's Top 50 week 35 [25/04/11]

    :ne: 5  9 :left: 2  31 :re: 3

:) Hi, this is my 35th week of chartz, this week Lady GaGa becomes the first female artist to debut at number one, and the fourth female number one with no males at all, the others being Whip My Hair, S&M and Born This Way, BTW just missed out on a number one debut as my chart was out on the day of its release. Jeremih and 50 Cent make a massive jump to this weeks number 3 on the week that it leaves the official top 40, only behind former number one LMFAO and this week's GaGa. J-Lo and Wiz Khalifa make up the rest of the top five. Nicki Minaj misses out on a top ten spot with "Girls Fall Like Dominoes", and an old song "Fast Car" is this weeks number 12 due to it getting popular this week and me listing to it a few times. Another old song, "Pon De Floor" by Major Lazer debuts on this chart because the song is heavily sampled in Beyonce's (poor, imo) comeback single "Run The World (Girls)". She becomes the first artist to have a song on the top 50 and the hate chart, but where is she? Where does Tinie Tempah enter with his new song remixed by Yes and used in a Lucozade advert, "Simply Unstoppable"? And where does Britney re-enter to? Find out in this weeks edition.

    The HATE Chart

The HATE chart is made up of ten songs I currently dislike. Currently most hated is Sammy King's Penny Arcade which is a Rangers FC single, last year it wasn't so bad when they used Tina Turner because that song is good but this is awful. Starboy Nathan makes an entry with his Diamonds, a boring song which sounds similar to My Name, a song that reached top ten in my personal charts but is very forgettable. Glee also make an entry with Gwyneth Paltrow (her again) singing a country song. Rebecca Black is still doing things in the top 10 as well as Glee (Sing) and Bruno Mars, his new song doesn't appear here as from what I've heard it sounds more like Billionaire than it does JTWYA/Grenade which is a good thing. Beyonce becomes the first artist to have a song both chart in the main chart and the hate chart at the same time, her ruining of Pon De Floor entering at 10.

    danielG's Top 50 week 35 [25/04/11]

I recall reading about five or six years ago that Agnetha had the most recognisable voices in Pop according to a survey- I can believe that- perhaps it's the warm motherly tones but this (along with "Chiquitita" which I like considerably more) seem to be appealing to kids directly, an angle that steps et al certainly took up when re-imagining ABBA all those years later.

You could put the record down to the festive season and the xmas market but it seems to me that someone that the undeniable writing power of Andersson/ Ulvaeus could have done something better than this.......

That I agree with, I loved Steps as a young kid - now there are only a few of their songs that are good. I also loved 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA which now I would only rate 5/10 - so overrated

  15. 2 (1) Chris Brown & Benny Benassi - Beautiful People (1-2)

3 (4) Snoop Dogg vs David Guetta - Sweat (13-7-4-3)

4 (new) Lady GaGa - Judas Take a guess of where this will debut on my chart, I really love it! GaGa just needs to climb in the charts now

5 (3) Jennifer Lopez feat Pitbull - On The Floor (17-12-7-2-1-1-3-5)

    6 (2) Katy Perry - E.T. (18-8-7-4-5-8-8-7-5-2-2-6)

    8 (6) LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (19-4-4-6-8)

10 (new) Tracy Chapman - Fast car This will enter my next chart, nice tune and she can sing

    11 (5) Ke$ha - Blow (14-9-6-5-5-11)

    13 (8) Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath (13-12-11-2-1-2-6-8-13)

14 (16) Cee Lo Green - Bright Lights Bigger City (20-16-16-16-14)

    15 (7) Katy B - Broken Record (13-13-3-3-7-15)

    16 (13) Nero - Guilt (17-14-13-16)

17 (15) Britney Spears - Till The World Ends (6-11-15-18-15-15-17)

    18 (11) Adele - Someone like you (3-1-1-2-5-5-8-8-11-18)

I haven't heard your number one, but I think I'll like it. Great chart!

A bit late on this but what the hell! I'm not a big fan of Beyonce. Ones with a cross through them I have never heard, which is most of Beyonce's flops except Ego which I found on an MTV channel, the song's OK but my favourite has to be Single Ladies because it's the only big up-tempo one from this album and Halo which is a great ballad.

    4/10 Sweet Dreams

    6/10 Halo

7.5/10 Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

0/10 Why Don't You Love Me?

    0/10 Broken-Hearted Girl

    0/10 Videophone

    4/10 Ego

    2/10 If I Were A Boy

    0/10 Diva

This is a 90s number twos rate using every song that hit number 2 but failed to go to number 1 in the 1990s. What will happen is there will be 10 rounds, the first being 1990, then 1991 etc. up to round 10 which will be 1999. The top 4 from each round will go straight to the final, and 5th to 7th placed will go in a "wildcard" round.

The top ten songs from the "wildcard" round will be put into the final round to make a top 50 of the decade. After the final the next rate will be 00s number 2s

How you rate the songs; exactly the same as last time, you do not rate every song that hit number two, you just rate your ten favourites and your least favourite. You give +15 points to your favourite song, and the rest are as follows; This is to hopefully stop ties from happening inside the top 3.

    +15 Favourite Song

    +12 2nd Favourite Song

    +10 3rd Favourite Song

    +08 4th Favourite

    +06 5th Favourite

    +05 6th Favourite

    +04 7th Favourite

    +03 8th Favourite

    +02 9th Favourite

    +01 10th Favourite

-02 Least Favourite, or Most Hated depending on what way you look at it

These are the songs you need to rate from. You have 2 days for every round to rate. This means the deadline is Sunday morning and hopefully the final round will be up by then.

VOTE from the wildcard list (the list in green) There are 30 wildcards and 10 will go through to the final.

#6, brilliant! Hopefully top 3 next week.

Tinie still at #14. Hopefully he can climb a bit more soon.

    Jessie up to #24 :D

The Script up to another new peak of #36 as well, good week for British/Irish artists.

I wonder if Dynamite can make a full year on the BBH100? :o

A year for Dynamite would be amazing for a British artist - has it ever been done before? Tinie really needs WITS to go top ten in US, he's had two misses in the UK and it'll be sad if it only peaks at 11/12 in US. With the big lead on iTunes for ADELE she should be number 3 behind Judas/E.T./S&M (two of the three) next week

  19. Beyoncé's new single 'Run the World (Girls)' available to buy on US iTunes here. It's much better than the demo. :music:

The preview of it sounds better with more of the Pon de Floor sample but couldn't Beyonce have done something original instead of ruining PDF??? It doesn't come close to her best but it'll grow on me on time (btw Baby Boy ft Sean Paul is my fave from her, much better than the overrated Crazy In Love)

  20. Maybe I won't be alone in 2 months time when we're comparing their chart runs ... :)

Judas is only starting to build up it's chart run, it is too Early to call it a Flop and when it gets promotion it will climb back up the charts , can't wait for Easter when the Video comes out :D
