So it's more similar to the GRAMMYs and not the BBMAs? Nominees and winners voted by the people in the industry?

Does anyone know the exact criteria of how Intl. Female artist has been chosen over the years? I would have expected Lady Gaga to be nominated over most of these nominees considering Chromatica's success and how huge Rain On Me was in the UK.
  7. Yeah John Legend and his family are big Ariana fans, him and his wife are always playing her songs for their child.
  8. Yessssss I knew it. Very well deserved, she was the most streamed woman on Spotify UK last year, ntm two huge #1 smashes and a #1 album. Hopefully she wins and accepts in person, we deserve a performance at the Brits

  11. Praying that this snippet is part of the song because it's amazing imo @1374075434053238784
  12. I didn't even know who Ariana was back then. "The Way" was a big hit in the US but didn't make much noise internationally.
  13. I actually get why that would be the case for you. "thank u, next" is my favorite album of hers because it's immaculate as a whole body of work. It's very much more than just a sum of its track list. Interestingly enough, if we take a track by track look at the other projects, I have several songs all above every track of "thank u, next".
  14. What are the chances of Ariana attending the upcoming BRIT awards? I think it would be the perfect opportunity considering how she's one of the front runners for international female artist with huge success of Rain On Me and positions in the UK. It's also a good chance for her to perform "pov" now that we know it's the third single. That song would be amazing in an acoustic setting.
  15. I wonder what kind of numbers positions needs to pull this week to get reset. I guess the residual Christmas streams from the 25th will make it harder than last year. A reset would mean a rebound to the top considering it's #1 on Apple and Spotify atm.
  16. Hopefully Wham! pulls through. Whoopty is really not my cup of tea
  17. Are last week's sale figures in for these songs yet? I can't seem to find them.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong but this was never marketed as a documentary but as a tour movie. I'm really looking forward to a documentary though.
  19. I still stand by my prediction in the previous thread which was Whoopty. Rooting for a 34+35 steal though.
  20. I mean it's much higher than 34+35 on every major playlist but doing significantly worse in streams. Afterglow is also #1 on all the important playlists but not yielding expected results. This is exactly why it's wrong to say playlists "dictate" the charts. Sure playlists do serve as some sort of promotion but the only reason they have such a correlation with the charts is because Spotify normally places the songs with the highest possibility of being a smash on top anyways. That's why almost every major streaming artist gets good placement at first but might get bumped down depending on song performance.
  21. This. For some reason the forum seems to heavily exaggerate the effect of these playlists despite seeing songs like Willow and Afterglow which have good placement but fail to give results. There is a correlation between "hits" playlists with the top charts but it's not a relationship based on causation.
  22. Hard to imagine her promoting anywhere atp
  23. The caption is the same as this tweet  @1021071506032406528
  24. Hope Winter Things wins this. It's my favorite holiday song ^_^
