  1. My bet is on Whoopty. Rooting for 34+35 though :P
  2. One flaw this compilation has is that it includes the rankings based on the OCC official charts irrespective of whether the songs were on ACR or not. If you want to accurately gauge the trends in popularity, the blue column should be the ranking among Christmas songs based on total units moved. For example AIWFCIY was the most popular Xmas song last year not River.

Three genuinely popular Christmas songs. Not a fishy Amazon exclusive. :( Also these midweek numbers favor Amazon dominant songs because Amazon reports their numbers on time. I'm fairly certain Jess will have dropped some spots come Friday.

Looks like Jess Glynne with the help of Alexa will be denying Santa Tell Me a top 10 peak :(
  5. I barely missed out but thank you Jade for holding this. Also yeah "Winter Things" is my favorite Christmas song and C&C is one of my favorite Ariana projects.
  6. I see a lot of people saying their favorite songs by her haven't gone #1. While that does mostly apply to me as well, my top pick from this list is also one of my favorite songs by her. 7 rings is an absolute banger. Ranked: 1- 7 rings 2- thank u, next 3- positions 4- break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored 5- Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea) 6- Bang Bang (with Jessie J & Nicki Minaj) 7- Rain On Me (with Lady Gaga)
  7. Isn't the true purpose of the chart the latter point though? There are other mediums to promote new music, there's no reason to compromise the integrity of the charts just so charts could be "interesting" or for promotional purposes. To answer OP's question; No ACR is already a mistake to begin with that has caused a rift between true popularity and the charts.

Amazon needs to be investigated. These numbers are nonsensical.
  9. I don't understand this logic. Charts are meant to rank songs by popularity and reflect data. It's not designed for entertainment and to be "exciting".
  10. So those three tracks will be on ACR for one week before being reset due to the Christmas songs falling?
  11. "Christmas Tree Farm" being so low on streams despite placement on the biggest playlists and promotion on radio and MTV shows that this forum gives way too much weight to playlist impact.
  12. Really cute video and song. Full circle moment indeed.
  13. On a side note, I'm pleasantly surprised to see 34+35 rising in streams everywhere. The song has apparently gone viral on TikTok and Snapchat, a re-entry to the top 10 seems possible.
  14. I wouldn't call an almost two year gap "so soon" but I agree with the sentiment. The whole concept of over-saturation is very much a myth that's somehow only ascribed to female popstars. Rappers put out multiple projects a year that do well. As long as the audience enjoys the music the demand is there.

Considering the fact that this update does include the 1st of December Christmas boost from Apple and Amazon I'm inclined to believe that Xmas songs in the top ten will likely drop some spots so it's entirely possible for a 34+35 re-entry in that zone.
  16. 34+35 blowing up was the last thing I was expecting to see this week wow.
  17. What about "Bang Bang"?
  18. If that's what the masses are consuming so be it. The creation of an Xmas or Holiday chart would still not justify banishing Xmas song from the singles chart.

I'm sorry but saying a certain song isn't your favorite is one thing (something we've all gotten used to considering the hissy fit the same several members have every week), but to claim that an artist is undeserving of the top spot is uncalled for when their song has been the genuine #1 (with ACR or not) every week until now. Even worse is to discredit their success by attributing it to a totally unrelated traumatic event years ago.
  20. Thank You
  21. I surely hope so. I want it to get the Xmas #1 too, these Amazon exclusives and charity singles snatching the Xmas #1 then disappearing from the face of the earth really irk me.
  22. Does anyone know the how big the percentage drop of the market is after Christmas? I'm trying to figure out how well a song needs to do to be reset.

Just wanted to drop my ranking for this album. It's my favorite album of hers after ANTi. 1. Te Amo 2. Russian Roulette 3. Hard 4. g4l 5. Rude Boy 6. Stupid In Love 7. Rockstar 101 8. Cold Case Love 9. Fire Bomb 10. Mad House 11. Wait Your Turn 12. The Last Song 13. Photographs
  24. It's a shame that for some reason this has slipped a spot and now ranks 4th among biggest daily gainers for Xmas songs on Spotify. I wonder what caused the Michael Bublé cover of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" to have such a drastic increase compared to "Santa Tell Me".
  25. Thank you Jade <3 Also yes it was surprising that the album didn't make it to the top 10. The UK album rules for counting streams really hurts an album like positions that has only two singles.
