Songs that are almost universally liked
I agree. I did not expect that from Joe McElderry. I also love the idea of it being in Italian with the surprise in the end. Really great version.

Impressive Number 2s
I hope it gets #1 at this point.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
Everyone is entitle to an opinion, but when someone states an opinion different than yours, there is no reason to go personal because you don't like it. They are allowed to disagree and put forth their own views. I just stated some facts, and then they can't handle it and gets personal. As you can see from the posts, I have never gotten personal with anyone. They have gotten personal with me first and fair enough for people to get personal back because that person started it first. But moving on. PS: LOL! I didn't know you are a boy Regina!

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
Hope you see a doctor then for that mental retardation, and it works out. As I stated above, Regina was disrespectful to other forum members with this whole "Joe's arse". I didn't even say anything personal until she started this whole thing. What was with that. This forum and particularly this thread is allowed to say things in support of Joe because they like him. What is wrong with that? He is a great artist and a charismatic guy. And that is not delusion if it is a fact. :) You might not like Joe, but this whole thing is unnecessary and just away from the main discussion of the thread. Moving on.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
I didn't mean to be harsh, but Regina started this whole think by saying "up Joe's arse". As you can see, I was just stating some information and didn't get personal. That was unnecessary and uncalled for when I was just putting out my opinion on the matter, and just discussing Joe's album before this whole thing started by Regina.

So Olly must have f**ked you with his hat as well and it is still stuck in your brain. Get over yourself. We are in a JOE thread and just talking about his new album. People are allowed to LIKE him in his OWN thread, and support him. It is called SUPPORT and happy for him. Google that and also "mental retardedness from hats". There might be a cure.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
So you are mentality f**ked up. Good job! And just be aware, you started this unnecessary argument. ;) People are allowed to like Joe in his OWN thread. There is a reason why he won fair and square. Great job Joe! Happy for you, unlike some people who can't be happy for others and negative.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
I did not say that. You said that. Anyway, that is a general accurate statement, and it is usually the case. Adele, Whitney Houston, Michael Buble, and Andrea Bocelli proves that and that is not "bullshit." :D Given what Joe has been through, Joe has major respect, and also with Katherine and Rolando being genuinely impress and supportive. And this big middle finger to Syco and Simon, is respected given how Syco has been awful to Joe (and other artists -- Leona, Shayne, and others) when they deserved more. You are the one that comes here in a thread about Joe's new album and started attacking Joe, not me. So don't start accusing me when I am just right. But Olly must have f**ked you from the arse all the way to the brain with his hat that you are just a negative person, and can't be happy for others anymore. I am not the one who started this whole argument. ;)

What is your point of these ladies? All of them have distinctive voices that carries their performances. Not the other way around. They might use dancers, but they are not hiding anything with their voices. But look at Adele rising above all of them and showing you don't need big production really, but just show off the talent of your voice. And, that is what true talent is about, and will last. Joe (Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, and Jessie J) can agree as his win from X Factor was about his voice. He wasn't media whoring or letting the production carry his performances compared to others. He just went out there, sang and proved to everyone his unique talent. :) Yes, from disrespecting others (Lloyd) to calling girls "dogs" to cancelling a fan gig for a TV show at the last minute where fans could not get a refund, that is such a classy personality. Joe has gotten his #1 already, and more respect from the industry than Olly can strip for. How many #1 singles did Michael Buble get or Andrea Bocelli or Katherine Jenkins? The answer is none, and they are so unsuccessful. Michael Buble, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Adele, and Katherine Jenkins would give up their #1 single (if they have any) if they have a chance to sing for the Queen & Royal Family.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
Joe already proved his talent on X Factor, and it is pretty impressive he was able to sing that song live. It is not an easy song to sing and he had to move around. Well done. Anyway, that is why he left Syco, and moved to Universal. Syco really has been crap and to their other artists (Leona being one and upsetting).

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
No they weren't. As evident of him being Top 3 almost every week as well as #1 for 4 weeks straight. No one was thinking he was boring. ;) Having dancers and big production mean you don't have talent yourself to carry a performance. You have to use props to make yourself look good because you don't have any talent yourself. Joe as well as others (Adele, Florence, Michael Buble, Katherine Jenkins, and Whitney, to name a few) it is not about standing there. ;) He is unique as an artist. He proved that. He has an exceptional tone to his voice as well as having a great personality and exceptional good looks. There is one Joe. :D :) What artist strips for a #1?! Really sad that you have to sell your body for sales. Really classy there. But what do you expect, he calls girls "dogs"; he cancelled a fan gig for a TV show; and he walks away and did not respect Lloyd.

Official announcements has not been made yet, but due to the success of this album, I assume Universal will re-releasing the album with added christmas songs.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
How deluded and uneducated can you be? Universal with Joe proved how badly handled he was by that shite Syco. I mean to be 5 weeks in the Top 5, and now 6 weeks in Top 10 is impressive, and he is doing it with NO airplay, NO singles, no big TV slot, and no big marketing. And it is a competitive season with Will, Example, James, Ed, David, Wretch, Tony, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and others. Joe already proved how he is so much more talented than Olly during X Factor, where it was a level playing field. He didn't used big dancers, and media whoring, but just getting out there and proving how much of a great artist he is. Joe already got a #1 selling single. He is a respected class act with actual, unique talent, and doesn't need to strip to get a #1. This is why he sang for the Queen and royal family TWICE, and featured in a blockbuster movie. Katherine Jenkins, Rolando Villazón, and Andrea Bocelli, are such Z-listers  Good job with that! He did NOT bring this album out during xmas and holiday season like all x Factor acts. He did NOT released it during mothers day like Mary Bryne and other artists. And he is building his own hype because time-and-time again Joe proved himself as a great artist, and will be here for a long time as he matures. And Adele, Florence and the Machines, Ellie Gouldings, Whitney Houston, Michael Buble, Katherine Jenkins much be handled so BADLY by their record label because they covered songs in there albums and so unoriginal. Andrea Bocelli is probably the worst one since he has been releasing covers all his life. Good job again  ! It actually shows how unique and original these artists and Joe are to transform these songs into something of their own and sell well with them. ;) And why don't you actually do some research because as you can see from Joe's fanbase, there is A LOT of younger women AND men. Again, good job. You are really hitting a home-run on these comments.

iTunes Chart: September 2011 (IV)
The song was already popular before Glee came into the picture. Joe performing that song on X Factor made that song already popular given how it charted in the Top 20 from #62 in 1982. Then, given that Joe performed it again with the highest final, it is no surprised it jumped to Top 10. The song was already popular even before Glee came into the picture in January (January 11, 2010 is the exact air date of the 1st episode), but by that time, Journey was already in the Top 10 because of Joe performing it. Ohh... you got it already.
-
iTunes Chart: September 2011 (IV)
That was in January, but the song was already Top 10 by that time because Joe had performed it again for the X Factor final in December. Glee did not start releasing their songs until January when the show aired in the UK. So for Don't Stop Believing, Joe had performed it once in October, and it jumped in the Top 20, then again in December, jumping the song to Top 10, then Glee aired in January and started releasing songs. Funny enough, when that song first aired in the UK in 1982, it only charted as high as #62.

iTunes Chart: September 2011 (IV)
It was actually only X Factor and Joe. Glee did not come into the picture until January 2010 after X Factor, when they first aired in the UK and started releasing their own songs.

I think one of the X Factor single, a charity one, went to #1 within the hour.

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
No it doesn't. It proved that Joe was given shite by Syco. Have you seen Syco's current and previous track records?!! Come on. No one would be blaming that label if they actually did their job, but as proven with how well Universal is doing with Joe, Syco has completely failed him and did not give him any support. That is the problem. Joe was always the winner, current to the industry, and he proved that with actual talent, and not needing to strip for a #1. And this is not the first time that Syco has done this as well. What is going on with Leona is upsetting, how mishandled she is. Then there is Shayne, who Syco basically tried to destroy his career. Syco made the brilliant idea to wait 3 years to release another album, and release a cover as a debut single. Then drop him like a hot potato. It goes on and on. There is a reason why Simon/Syco is not respected in the music industry. Anyway, this album looks to be staying in the Top 5 again this week, as it moves to #4 to. Great job to Joe and giving Syco a big middle finger! :)

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
Joe was coached; not trained. There is no singing "training" program on the show. You understand it takes 8-10 years to be trained as an opera singer. You really have no clue about opera. I don't know what show you are watching, but everyone knows, especially during Steve's year (as Sharon pointed out), there is A LOT of manipulation. You can figure that easily --- think Katie Waissel. Whitney Houston and Celine Dion must be one of the most least talent artists then.
-
Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
And Whitney Houston must be less talented than Olly. LOL! Good job on that! How do you know Joe can't? It is not like Syco gave him any support. Anyway, he is only 20 years old, and planning to in the next album, although it is not like it makes or break an artist like Whitney or Britney. And it's not like co-writing credit means anything.
-
Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
Are you serious? Singing opera is not difficult??!! You must think everyone can magically become an opera singer by just opening their mouth. It looks like you don't know how opera singers work. Also, Joe is not a trained singer. He never did it before, and he is still very young. Steve won because of Simon and the manipulation that year, not because of his voice. G4 should have won. Whitney and Britney Spears never had a problem about not writing songs. ;) Yes, song writing is important, but a singer does not need to have original matter to make a song great like Adele's Make You Feel My Love. Also, have you listened to half the shite in the charts? You described it perfectly "shit songs with terrible lyrics" like Swagger Jagger. There are people out there called songwriters. ;)
-
Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
It is about the song and the production done. Not about the song writer. When I heard Adele sing Make You Feel My Love, I didn't even know it was a cover, and people, in general, could care less as how well it did. Same with Florence. Joe winning X Factor with just his voice and then winning like crazy again in opera, which he has never done in his life, should tell you otherwise. ;)

Joe McElderry - Classic + Classic Christmas
An artist does not need to write songs. The person can be just a singer (Whitney, Katherine, Alex) or maybe do a little songwriting. Doesn't make a difference. Adele, Florence, Whitney and Ellie Goulding have all been famous with their cover songs. It is about having support if the artist wants to, which Syco never gave Joe and Joe wanted to do some songwriting. He is only 20 years old anyways and has a lot of time. Olly has a below average voice. There is nothing to it; my younger cousin can sing better than Olly. Joe's is pretty exceptional with his tone and great control at such a young age.
