  1. Are you serious? Singing opera is not difficult??!! You must think everyone can magically become an opera singer by just opening their mouth. It looks like you don't know how opera singers work. Also, Joe is not a trained singer. He never did it before, and he is still very young. Steve won because of Simon and the manipulation that year, not because of his voice. G4 should have won. Whitney and Britney Spears never had a problem about not writing songs. ;) Yes, song writing is important, but a singer does not need to have original matter to make a song great like Adele's Make You Feel My Love. Also, have you listened to half the shite in the charts? You described it perfectly "shit songs with terrible lyrics" like Swagger Jagger. There are people out there called songwriters. ;)
  2. It is about the song and the production done. Not about the song writer. When I heard Adele sing Make You Feel My Love, I didn't even know it was a cover, and people, in general, could care less as how well it did. Same with Florence. Joe winning X Factor with just his voice and then winning like crazy again in opera, which he has never done in his life, should tell you otherwise. ;)
  3. An artist does not need to write songs. The person can be just a singer (Whitney, Katherine, Alex) or maybe do a little songwriting. Doesn't make a difference. Adele, Florence, Whitney and Ellie Goulding have all been famous with their cover songs. It is about having support if the artist wants to, which Syco never gave Joe and Joe wanted to do some songwriting. He is only 20 years old anyways and has a lot of time. Olly has a below average voice. There is nothing to it; my younger cousin can sing better than Olly. Joe's is pretty exceptional with his tone and great control at such a young age.
  4. Joe is a lot better, and the one with real talent. Winning that show with over 60%, and another show with 80% are pretty crazy. There really is no talent and nothing really with Olly, and speaks a lot when he took his clothes off for a number 1. What it speaks is that Joe was stuck with a shite label company that doesn't know shite about music. Syco is truly an awful label. It really shows more now with Universal. Syco can try to give him crap and no support, but they can't take away his talent, and why he was always better and the winner in the end. Joe was the real stuff, and he is only 20 years old.
  5. He is gold. He confirmed that on twitter and someone from the official charts has also confirmed it.

Wow! It is doing really well! Happy for him, it is such a great album! :)

It is interesting how this works because it is confusing. But according to BPI, it is "sales to UK retailers", which makes sense why Universal has certified this gold. For record labels, that is what is important, and understand why the BPI certifies it this way because they care about what the label has sold and made money.

What do you mean? The album was just released 10 days ago.

According to someone from the official charts, Joe McElderry's album has been certified gold already, selling over 100K. :o :o I didn't believe this at first, but BPI has a different way of doing certification with sales to UK retailers. And Joe himself tweeted with excitement after hearing it probably from Universal. Well done Joe! Great album. :)
  10. WOW!!!! It is officially #2, and that is where Joe's album was hard to find it in stores --- selling out and trying to get more in stock, and Adele's album being cheap for the first time. This is the first week that Adele album will not be in the Top 2 with Will and Joe taking the top spots. Well deserved and congrats, Joe! I am completely surprised and you have proved how shitty Syco was to you, and how Universal has done great to you.
  11. Joe McElderry - Classic Got lucky by getting the last copy from the store! Yah! :D Also: Calvin Harris - Feel So Close EP
  12. I can't believe this but I really like what he did with "My Heart Will Go On" or "Il Mio Cuore Va". It's so cool hearing it in Italian and English, and the production is ace. His voice is amazing with it. :)

I agree. This album is really moving, but to be honest, it should. It is a fantastic album, and I can't believe how much I like it. Happy for Joe! He is such a great guy. :)
  14. Joe still #2, and increasing the lead from Adele. :o Happy for him! The album is fantastic, and deserves its success!
  15. Quality quality album! His voice is so beautiful and just fantastic! The orchestra is great! I agree with Bluebell with those tracks. Over The Rainbow is just stunning, and could listen to that all day. Did not expect that given I really don't like that song. Also, like To Where You Are, but they are all great. You can get a free download of his music video if you tweet: http://joemcelderryofficial.com/ Looking it up now, at #8 on itunes, with 8 of his tracks in Top 10 classical, with Dance With My Father at #1 actually. Wow, doing really well! :)

Haha! I don't know; I was actually disappointed with the last Harry Potter (definitely not the blockbuster) and can't believe they are breaking this one into two parts. On the other hand, I am really excited for the Narnia one because this book of the series is one of the best if not the best one.

It looks like Joe was chosen to do the title track for the new Narnia movie. Good publicity for him as well as this album with the second single added to his performance. From his website: Joe was approached by Twentieth Century Fox to record the specially written track, ‘There’s a place for us’, written by American songstress Carrie Underwood, which will feature in the film released later in the year. The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, is the latest installment of the Narnia saga. Filmed in digital 3D, the exciting new chapter is set to be the biggest blockbuster of 2010. Joe will also attend The Royal Film Performance and World Premiere of the film in Leicester Square on November 30th and also switch on the Regent Street lights on November 9th So this Tuesday, November 9th, he will be performing this title track and will also be performing his second single "Someone Wake Me Up". Wow, I am happy for Joe. :D

Really surprised how good this song is. Didn't think much of it from the preview, but listening it full, I really really like it and love the production for it. I agree - it should be a single. Maybe for the Bee Gee's movie!

Found this on Someone Wake Me Up performance from his album. This is a great song! This should have been released first. Looks like Joe should be proud of this album. Sounds like a very solid pop album.

Yes, the facts have not depth. Good one. I never said it wasn't, but hey I see him as a popstar from the above mentioned evidence. And if he does end up in the Top 5 what is wrong with that? You are already calling him a flop from one single?!! Why don't you give the kid a break and give him a chance? I really don't understand why you have to hate on him already when he is just starting. Why not just wish him good luck? It's really hard to find some sense of kindness now a days. And I am never disappointed in Joe, not once, because you know what, through all his negative events and what he is facing right now, he has always been strong and tried his best and that's all you can do given the label's mismanagement and marketing support.

Stop making meaningless statment after another. It's not an excuse when it is ALL true. He is a popstar and you have NOT proven and gave a SINGLE evidence that he isn't or should do that. And we wish you good luck Joe in your popstar career.

Wait is Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kayne West, or Michael Buble unsuitable as well to the "modern pop star"? Who is the "modern pop star"? Are those the "modern pop star" because I can tell you I don't think Miley Cyrus is or Taylor is, BUT they have carved an image for themselves that is their own and maybe that is the "modern pop star". And Joe to that effect has right? He has carved his own "modern pop star" through who he is as a person and that should be the right approach (I mean you can't fake an image; you own it). You cannot deny that there is no one like Joe. He has striking good looks, that big smile of his, his shorter size, Geordie accent, a sense of innocence and excitement through his youth, an exceptional voice, charming lovely personality that you know you are talking to the one and only Joe McElderry, and the story about how he became a popstar (a young kid in a northeast town of South Shield accidently discovered his voice and love of performing decided to apply to X Factor and deservingly win the entire show with note-perfect, brilliant performance every week). If you watch the entire series back, Joe really owned that series as his own story to stardom. And the song is not forgettable and you know it is all down to marketing (for example, if the rubbish song of the "the Club is Alive" can make it to number #1 this can) but the label didn't give Joe a fighting chance. And yes it is a business, but my comment is on the lack of support and why, when Joe has proven that he does not deserve that right? He has sold over 700K of the Climb and it became platinum. He is very marketable and signed to Next Models. What point did Joe went against the label or proven he deserved to be treated like this because I haven't heard any.

Joe has really been treated badly by the label / Simon and this single release has shown that. On top of that he has been on this crazy bumpy ride since he won. And to be fair to the kid, he does not deserve it. Compared to Olly with 3 months of marketing, Leona and Alex with about 2 months of marketing, Joe has been given no support by the label with just two weeks of marketing and unfair attack from Heart and Capital because he is releasing his album the same week as the Wanted (the big boss at these station is also the Wanted's manager). And this week, I don't know why he don't have any TV performances when Alex, Leona, and Olly all had it. He is a popstar. It might not be your taste, but he has a great image, very likable, very marketable, and a fantastic voice. He is this young popstar and there is no in the market right now like Joe. He really ticks all the boxes and his performances during the show proved that he has something, has talent (really great voice) and can do this. He works hard, determined to put together the best performance he can give, and charming as well, hearing some of his interviews. I just feel like the kid is always being having to face negativity since his start. Like once he won X Factor, he is attacked and unfair to him, in the middle of this hate campaign. Ratm fans literally went to his website and plastered hate message / attack on the kids forums as well as on all his video. It was really bad to the point where the admin had to block people and censor words, etc. Then the media started attacking him and calling him a flop when he just won and still got #1 in the end, a platinum single, and the Top 5 best selling single in 2009. Then, he is honest with himself and the media is all over him and although he has gotten a lot of support, he still has to face abuse. And through all this Joe is still Joe and did not let it get to him. I will give props to the kid for being brave and just being himself when he knew he was going to get a lot of abuse from that point on. For a young kid, he is strong and I hope he can continue to be that because I don't think it will be the last.

Joe did sing live, you could hear him breathing at points and I personally think he did an amazing job. You can't fault his vocals and he sang it so well. Great performance. Upset about Usher, what was that?! He WASN'T even singing. Really disappointed in him.
