BJSC - CLIV - The Final - Results!
Great to see a Kathaldazia win, took me a few listens to properly get that one but ended up scoring well with me and well deserved after so many incredible entries in the last two years  Great to see my 18 pointer in the top 5 too ^_^ 38th slightly disappointing for Slow Crush, but 131 points does feel like a very good score for being that low down so I'll take it. I did think I was in a bit more dodgy semi than I'd have ideally liked for it, so not surprised I qualified so narrowly!

2023 Formula One Season
Even with a mixed up grid it wasn't the best of entertainment. Max breezing through because no one sees any point losing time defending the inevitable, and most overtakes coming later on as those who'd done the alternative Hard > Medium strategy breezed through on newer, softer compounds.

Buzzjack Song Contest - CLIV - Finals!
Voted - not had the chance to listen to do a usual final listen of the best songs to determine the order so had to go from memory to combine my faves from S1 last week and S2 this week. I don't want this host to feel like this is singling out criticism because it's far from an outlier, but huge thumbs down to voting periods that don't last a full week where there is no reminder sent.

UK Local Elections 2023
I cast my postal vote on Tuesday, the least enthused I've ever voted in something. Got a reasonable amount of material through from the two main parties. A lot said about potholes despite voting for councillors on a ward in a district council (no responsibility for roads). The state of the roads in both the County (Conservative run) and neighbouring City (Labour run) is equally abysmal anyway.

Definitely a much stronger week than last week, a few better than George which I voted for, but an easy vote for ConMan and Daniel

2023 Formula One Season
Not really sure about the new Sprint format. I think I preferred it being separated from the main event, and really liked the shortened qualifying with there being cars on the track at all times, but ultimately it's just not set up to be exciting - not much is likely to happen in a race that short when you start in grid order and there's barely any differentiation in strategies.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
#01 Robyn Points: 1548 Date first charted: 25/06/2007 Number of entries: 20 Total weeks on chart: 259 Most Successful Year: 2010, 2nd -ojHWQrm4UM And coming in at all time number one, is the delightful Robyn. With three fewer entries than Arctics and six fewer than Kanye, she's way ahead of all acts with 12+ entries on points gained per entry, such has been her consistency over the years. 20 entries, 5 #1s, 4 #2s, and 5 more top 5s. Just six of her 20 entries have missed the top 5, and that includes songs which peaked at 7, 8 & 9. I had no memory of her earlier hit Show Me Love, and have never really got into it, so her career here started with the delightful With Every Heartbeat, simply the most perfect pop song. Its parent album Robyn was one I enjoyed but was a bit inconsistent, but she got the single choices spot on as Handle Me, Be Mine and Who's that Girl all followed it into the top 5, as did Dream On, guesting on Christian Falk's single in 2008. She's been consistently excellent at providing vocals to others, with three hits with Royksopp, including two #1s, and Caesar with once promising pop singer I Blame Coco. Her 2010 Body Talk series remains one of the finest pop albums of all time. Lead single Dancing On My Own made it three chart toppers in a row, a song deservedly going on to be a big favourite worldwide, with a further three top 5s from it, Call Your Girlfriend the one of those I go back to most now. The likes of Fembot, Stars 4 Ever and In My Eyes would also have been nailed on top 5 hits from it. It's such a brilliant varied album, and one I go back to frequently over a decade on. Since then, hits with others have continued, two with her project with La Bagatelle Magique, and ones with Jonsi and SG Lewis in 2020. Between that there was her next solo album, again it was remarkably consistent, Missing U was a great lead and title track Honey was at a level higher. I'm absolutely delighted she has ended as my #1, fully deserving of it. Chart History: 25/06/2007 With Every Heartbeat (feat. RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
#02 Arctic Monkeys Points: 1525 Date first charted: 17/10/2005 Number of entries: 23 Total weeks on chart: 227 Most Successful Year: 2006, 4th EqkBRVukQmE When Arctic Monkeys songs first demoed on Myspace, I was a sixteen year old indie fan and soon became obsessed with them. The hype around them was fully deserved, as a band who were only a bit older than I was made punchy songs which were great lyrically, the likes of Fake Tales of San Francisco, From The Ritz To The Rubble and Cigarette Smoke all had a certain charm but Scummy was the one that I really loved. They were all updated for their album release a year later, but it was Scummy - now When The Sun Goes Down - which is the one which has remained my all time favourite of theirs. Despite having heard it loads by the time it was a single, the new version still entered at the top spot. There have been many songs since which have been sensational, but seventeen years later nothing has quite managed to top it. It's hard to imagine anything they released as a debut single not entering straight at the top, but I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor is fully deserving of it, the perfect stomper to introduce themselves to the world - I was in Asda on its release day buying a CD copy and delighted it defied the odds to be the UK's number one too. Its B-Side, Bigger Boys And Stolen Sweethearts, is probably their most underrated track, and sneaks into my top 5 overall - it still sounds incredible and as it's not something you hear out of your own listening, it's hard to get bored of it. The album was brilliant - I wasn't a fan of some of their reworkings (Riot Van especially) but it gave us enough new songs and was more than good enough to deserve all of its success and accolades, predictable but A Certain Romance and Mardy Bum the highlights. Teddy Picker is perhaps the surprising choice of their second album's singles to hit the top, but all three are fantastic and remain so, showing the huge variation in their style. Humbug is my second favourite album of theirs, I find it hugely underrated and undercharted the latter two singles from it somewhat. Cornerstone is up there with my favourite tracks of theirs, easily my favourite ballad and showed the type of thing they'd go on to produce later. I think Suck It And See is largely unappreciated too, and the title track is magnificent; "you're rarer than a can of Dandelion & Burdock, while those other girls are just post-mix lemonade" is a marvellous lyric, though I stopped pretending I liked Don't Sit Down Cos I Moved You're Chair after a while, pre-2017 it was comfortably the worst song in their discography. Their 2012 return of Do I Wanna Know? was superb, deservedly getting them back to previous heights. It's gone on to become second to WTSGD for me, and whilst I'm not as big a fan of AM as most others, I absolutely get why it's so highly rated so well listened to a decade on. Of the two recent albums, although they're in a similar style I think they've built on that so well and developed it to make The Car., There'd Better Be a Mirrorball was better on first listen and such a grower. Tranquillity Base... was probably the most I've ever been disappointed by an album, but the songs on The Car take that sound and do so much more with it. I thought I'd give it another listen recently, but I still couldn't get through it all - even on their own, the songs are just so dull, but I can easily allow one flaw in an otherwise superb discography. Pre-BJSC success I was only aware of which was a decent enough instrumental but not so amazing it made me want to discover more. The trio of the two new singles and Zone 1-6000 are all exceptional, both up there with the best songs released this year, and Zone.. still on my regular rotation.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
#03 Kanye West Points: 1499 Date first charted: 22/03/2004 Number of entries: 26 Total weeks on chart: 232 Most Successful Year: 2005, 2nd L7_jYl8A73g With three more chart entries than anyone else, there is an element of Kanye being so high because of the quantity of work he's put out over the last two decade, particularly so many collaborations and features on other artists work. But he has had three number ones and a further nine top 10 hits too. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Runaway remain my favourite rap album and song of all time. I've never been that fussed with any of his other full albums, although did buy some of them. In this all-time chart he took the lead in 2009 for five years, and then again in 2019 with his work with Francis & The Lights, but Jail wasn't quite successful enough as a final entry to continue ahead of the two above, finishing 49 points off the lead. The quality of his music has certainly dipped in the last decade, and he's become that much of a hideous personality it's hard to have much time for him these days, Jail itself was a huge surprise. Heartworms - A Comforting Notion (EP)
Loved the first two singles from this, and 24 Hours is good enough too. I had bought What Can I do on bandcamp too which I've enjoyed a lot. Very annoying she was announced as Black Honey support after it had sold out. A gig on Saturday evening when I had day plans and was going away for a fortnight the day after I didn't bother, I'd like to see them but they're not a must - if they were here any other night this week I would have done, but if they'd have announced supports before then I'd have got one for tomorrow!

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 5 Single - The Final
The top 5 appearing in the order I voted them in which is good. I said Green Day was a contender so would like it to win, but definitely prefer Run of the two, good top 3 either way.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
#04 Arcade Fire Points: 1352 Date first charted: 28/03/2005 Number of entries: 21 Total weeks on chart: 211 Most Successful Year: 2013, 4th 8vN2vqaEBhM For a long while, Arcade Fire were one of the best and most consistent bands around, until releasing a duff album in 2017, before what felt like a return to form, but the listens to these 21 songs (plus a few select others) accounts for about 75% of my listening to them in the last 6 months, and it's difficult to think I'm ever going to want to play an Arcade Fire album again now. Rebellion (Lies) was the first song of theirs that I properly got into, the most brilliant feel good indie hit, my three longest running singles of all time appearing consecutively for the acts in positions 6-4. Funeral was an album I loved so much, up there amongst my favourites of the time, so varied and clever throughout. Their second and third albums didn't produce a number one but Sprawl (Mountains Beyond Mountains) is up there with their best, songs just sung by Regine often were (In The Backseat too). They had three more number ones with the two main singles from Reflektor and then the disco-esque Everything Now, rarely has a single set an album up for such disappointment. Last year they got a 13th top 10 entry and 10th top 5, tallies they will almost certainly not be adding to.
