Line of Duty β’ The future?
It always felt like it would return, and I'll be pleased if it does. I'm convinced the criticism it received was because it was assumed to be the end altogether, but that was never confirmed (or denied tbf) and just felt like an end of series ending, which in that case was absolutely fine.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
Self Esteem Position: 172 Points: 422 Date first charted: 15/05/2021 Entries: 5 Not quite as much of a newbie as others here had been, and she had technically charted once previously with Slow Club in 2014, but Self Esteem has been an absolute sensation in the last two years. The Best had made my bubbling under chart in 2019 and was something I'd listened to a lot for a song which I didn't chart, but it wasn't until I Do This All The Time was released that I took much notice, with a super quick rise to the top where it stayed for five weeks for a song which is, quite frankly, genius. 6 of the 7 singles she's released from Prioritise Pleasure have charted, with The 345 this week becoming the 5th which has made the top 10. It's an album so wonderfully varied and creative, full of high points, I'm Fine and f***ing Wizardry are sensational. She's a superb live act too and it's great to see her playing such big tours and shows - February will be fourth time I've seen her and I can't wait. My year end listening chart will almost certainly have her top 5 for a second consecutive year. I have revisited the debut album a few times, and whilst it's a decent pop album it just doesn't compare to last years. For Those I Love Position: 228 Points: 351 Date first charted: 03/10/2020 Entries: 5 The top 2 acts here were responsible for my two favourite albums of 2021, the first of which being Irish act David Balfe AKA For Those I Love. His self-title debut album a largely spoken word over beats in a strong Irish accent. It's not for everyone but with it dedicated to his friend who'd died, the subject matter is always so raw and emotive. First single I Have a Love is a song I grew to love so much more than I did at the time of its release when it peaked at #4, with Birthday/The Pain being the other standout. 4/5 singles have made the top 10 including an Ela Minus remix, which elevated the song into a banger. Chart History: 03/10/2020 I Have a Love 27-16-09-08-04-04-07-15-24-34-39-39 (12 weeks) 23/01/2021 Top Scheme 34-27-19-15-15-23-34-39 (8 weeks) 27/02/2021 Birthday/The Pain 34-25-20-14-08-04-03-03-03-07-11-14-19-24-33 (15 weeks) 24/07/2021 To Have You 28-17-12-07-07-07-07-09-12-18-27-37 (12 weeks) 18/09/2021 You Stayed/To Live (Ela Minus Remix) 35-29-24-17-13-10-07-13-21-25-31-38 (12 weeks) iTz3QZNORg4

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
I split cash on Mariah and Wham. Even if they lose they were still good bets, because they were massively overpriced based on the information available at the time, particularly when the longest odds you could get on the Pogues was 10/1. Realistically the absolute worst they were ever going to be was #4 & 5 (5 & 6 if England were still in the World Cup) yet had 20-40 songs with shorter odds. A professional gambler who's got any interest in the charts is 100% backing both of them.

Arlo Parks Position: 235 Points: 342 Date first charted: 30/05/2020 Entries: 5 Coming in slightly higher than HAAi is Arlo Parks. Sophie and the Easy Life collaboration Sangria were the first songs of hers I came across, and both were pleasant enough but didn't quite get into them enough to chart them. That all changed with Black Dog, such beautiful lyrics about coping with depression, such a magnificent song that made me check out a lot more of her earlier material, the Super Sad Generation EP really is excellent. Her debut album Collapsed In Sunbeams was a great debut, with Hurt and Too Good being standouts both hitting #6. An I. JORDAN remix of her work with Future Utopia elevated a boring song to give her a 5th hit last year. Chart History: 30/05/2020 Black Dog 28-19-08-01-01-01-01-01-02-02-03-03-04-05-09-13-20-26-34-40 (20 weeks) 29/08/2020 Hurt 31-24-17-10-07-06-06-06-11-11-16-20-26-34-38 (15 weeks) 12/12/2020 Caroline 30-24-20-20-19-18-22-29-24-29-35 (11 weeks) 17/07/2021 Too Good 28-20-12-09-06-10-15-21-35-39 (10 weeks) 04/09/2021 Stranger In The Night (w/ Future Utopia) (I. World Cup to be extended to 48 teams from 2026
Any tournament where half the entrants in each round progress is always preferable. Going to groups of 4 results in significantly more games being played an even longer tournament, which I'm sure will go down well with clubs. There's ultimately no particularly good scenario when you're only removing 1/3 of teams.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
HAAi Position: 241 Points: 337 Date first charted: 29/01/2022 Entries: 5 And now for my most successful act of this year, London based Australian DJ, producer and vocalist HAAi, who isn't someone I'd come across before this year when she joined Romy for one of Fred Again's many collaborations with Lights Out, which quickly became a top 10 hit. The Spring release of her debut album was one I got into a lot, with the standout title track Baby, We're Ascending with Jon Hopkins going right to the top, it's so euphoric and would be a serious song of the year contender if it weren't for the presence of Doomscroller. Everything she appears on now gets put onto my new music playlists on Spotify, so no chance of me messing her turning a nice but tad dull Warpaint song into a pure banger, and the standout of Daniel Avery's recent material as they gave her top 10 hits number 3 & 4. RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
Thanks Kath, glad you're a fan. Forbidden Feelingz and Heads Gone West were the two I liked most of her older material. I was pretty similar with Biaina, it's fine and I did end up liking it, but took a while and not as much as others. Anyway, about acts you might like :kink:

W. H. Lung Position: 266 Points: 310 Date first charted: 23/01/2021 Entries: 4 At the end of 2020 some of W. H. Lung's music was used in the first series of BBC/HBO series Industry, which I watched and was all over Shazam to find out what it was, and their songs begun to get some more prominent streaming playlist support as a result. Both of their albums are great, and the vinyl of Simpatico People adorns the wall of my living room, synth laden indie with superb and often completely nonsensical lyrics. They were my second most successful act of 2021 with two number ones in the form of Second Death of My Face and Pearl in the Palm, with another top 5 to follow. The albums are both top 5 of their respective years for me. Chart History: 23/01/2021 Second Death of My Face 28-16-07-01-01-01-04-04-04-05-07-09-10-14-20-25-29-33-40 (19 weeks) 19/06/2021 Pearl in the Palm 27-19-10-03-01-01-01-01-01-03-05-08-15-19-27-36 (16 weeks) 07/08/2021 Showstopper 37-31-24-21-20-26-34 (7 weeks) 02/10/2021 Figure With Flowers 37-31-25-17-11-07-05-09-12-19-28-36-39 (13 weeks) fIeObrRNq-M

Dizzy Position: 305 Points: 270 Date first charted: 15/08/2020 Entries: 4 I first came across Canadian indie-pop band Dizzy in 2019 with their single Heavy which I enjoyed but not quite enough to chart. A year later they were back with their second album and a couple of excellent singles in Roman Candles and Beatrice which both hit the top 3, the album The Sun and Her Scorch is magnificent dream pop. They hit the top 5 again very shortly after with their remix of fellow Canadian Ellis' Saturn Return, and finished the year with a covers EP including a beautiful version of The National's Light Years. They've just released their first new music since then, so am hoping for more hits next year. SOFT PLAY - HEAVY JELLY
I certainly preferred the last album to the second one, although neither hit the heights that Are You Satisfied did. I'm glad they're coming back and I don't think the name change will make any real difference, I get why they've done it, I'd seen some stuff about it in the past but wasn't sure how much it cut through.

Although I gave full input to the mods in terms of what they vetoed I was doing a bit of checking when entries were submitted to make sure there were no obvious red flags. A quick Google of LRDL I saw pop-rock and assumed therefore they'd be fine. Diva might be more on the pop side but I didn't think it was so far out of place (I just didn't particularly care for it!) Personally I think a fortnight or more is plenty enough to vote in a contest like this. I think regardless of how much time most will give the same amount of listens. I gave the stuff I liked most four listens as each listen through I discount a few more until I'm only left with the ones I really like (I had 16 this time). My favourites never stay in quite the same order after I add them to playlists and listen more regularly - the song I ended up listening to most from the most recent UP was the CLT DRP entry but I ranked it about 5th on votes.

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 Acts; 2003-2022
The next batch of acts outside the top 100 I'll discuss, are the most recent additions who've simply not had the time or releases to build up enough points to get into the top 100, but have a good chance of doing so in the coming years. The "newest" act in my top 100 first charted on 09/05/2020. These are the top acts who've made their debut since that point. Nia Archives Position: 379 Points: 224 Date first charted: 08/01/2022 Entries: 5 It was the end of last year when 18 & Over came to my attention, jungle not a style of music that I was that familiar with but it was an instant hit and huge grower. I delved into her previous releases and liked what I'd heard, and have been all over everything else she's been involved in since. A fortnight ago she got her 5th entry of the year with So Tell Me... which next week is likely to have climbed high enough for Nia to climb up to my 4th top act of 2022, and has a good chance of outpeaking her debut. Chart History: 08/01/2022 18 & Over 26-19-15-10-06-05-07-10-15-18-21-26-35-38 (14 weeks) 12/03/2022 Luv Like 33-29-23-20-24-34 (6 weeks) 11/06/2022 Mash Up The Dance (w/ Watch The Ride) 32-22-16-19-28 (5 weeks) 03/09/2022 Patience (w/ Mall Grab) 32-24-23-25-35-40 (6 weeks) 03/12/2022 So Tell Me 30-19* (2 weeks) QOzW5CWdTj0

I had considered sending Slomo from the same Slowdive album to either this or UP before, but was put off by the entry requirements with them having charted. Ultimately I don't really think a band who had a couple of top 75 singles and top 40 album in the early 90s should be disallowed from contests like this. KDIDLIE7Z1E

I mainly just tried to get a change of leader each time I updated, with as many different ones having a turn at the top as possible. Unfortunately that would mean some had to fall further, so made my own entry fall the furthest! The last three votes were the last three that came in though, so wouldn't have played out any different at the end with a more typical presentation.
