  2. If only I'd entered one more contest at some point and my 100th could've been an imaduck one
  3. The top 10 looking better as all these dance songs that I didn't vote for, drop out but Stardust isn't one of them?! The last three would all at least have been top 50 for me.

  5. I thought 2009 was a great year for chart music, but I did my usual of picking songs I did and still really enjoy, and only selected 13, which has to comfortably be the fewest of any of these. Never Forget You FTW
  6. Mick certainly seems to have a lot of very annoying fans that blame everything that goes wrong purely on Haas. I think it's perhaps slightly harsh for him not to get a third season given Latifi and Tsunoda have done and his replacement is really uninspiring (but at least it isn't Gio), but at the same time I don't think he can complain too much, he's binned it way too often in both seasons and the difference between him and KMag at the beginning of the season was pretty embarrassing for him.
  7. Sit Down was a huge favourite when I was very young, and I still think it's great, although seeing James live I found very off-putting. Tim Booth is a monumental tit.
  8. Tender is fantastic. I absolutely love Blur when they're like that and the length only adds to it - This Is a Low, To The End, The Universal all easily join it in my top 10 of theirs  Their bigger songs on the other hand... Song 2 is certainly the better of them, but I can't remember if I voted for it, and it wouldn't surprise me if not.
  9. Hello! Welcome to the 15th edition of the Indie/Alternative/Rock forum's Nuggets contest. As the winner of the previous contest (and for the third time no less!) it is down to me to end 2022 in the same way as I started, by hosting a song contest within one of BuzzJack's genre forums. How does this one work? To differentiate from others the theme of this is guitars, there are no restrictions by genre, release date of length of song, but all entries must be guitar based. There are some other rules to abide by too: Rules 01 The artist or band must not have reached the top 75 of the UK singles chart (ideally not the albums chart either). 02 The song cannot have been submitted to any previous song edition of Nuggets or Unknown Pleasures, the links for the archives are: Nuggets Archive Unknown Pleasures Archive 03 The contest is anonymous so please keep your entries to yourself — your entries will be revealed with the results. 04 If the same artist or band is entered by different people, then the first person to submit will be chosen. 05 The entries will be confirmed by the moderators of this forum to make sure they follow the rules above. To enter, simply click here. Your deadline for confirmations is 23:59 GMT Tuesday 22nd November 2022. Voting will then be open until around the 9th December, but I will try not to make it clash too much with any similar contests across the site. A reminder of why I'm hosting, the winning song of Nuggets #14: KennyHoopla - How Will I Rest In Peace If I'm Buried By a Highway??? 10. 30 votes and I'm the first one to vote for that hideous mess of a DJ Sammy cover?! :manson:
  11. Absolutely delighted for K Mag. Hope he can deliver and give Haas some points. I want them to stay ahead of AT but it'd be great if he could get a haul to give them a chance of getting higher in Abu Dhabi. I wonder if this has happened before where it's been fair and down to pace, even if there's a little luck with red flag. There's a possibility of first and last when one driver of a fast care had problems, crashed, didn't participate etc. but Kevin and Mick were both fair and square times in equal conditions/chance as the rest of the field.

I've not listened to this one yet but have enjoyed the three singles he released before it quite a lot, Georgetown bringing back the GSCE English memories with the John Agard poem. I really should listen though, Not Waving But Drowning is an excellent album with good features and the Dear Jean / Dear Ben opener and closers are wonderful
  13. 55th when I had a top 5 :nocheer:
  14. What would be the easiest way to pick up the points necessary for a race ban? Track limits is easy but think it's only worth one point so would have to do it a lot. Something like crossing the white line on pit entry/exit seem or cutting a corner to gain an advantage seem like the 'safest' but would appear really obvious, but then I think anything would do, and surely he wouldn't do anything genuinely dangerous or cause a collision?
  15. Given after my last listenthrough I put Los Bitchos up a couple of notches from 3rd to 1st, Jadakissnia were really the lucky ones! :cheeseblock: Can't complain at losing a tiebreak to a song with three higher scores (even if I did think it was the worst qualifier from the semi! :D)
  16. On the columns, Kath got three more on the Qualifiers and three fewer on the DNQs, so think it then goes to 18s? The Gold, Silver, Bronze columns are calculating 12s, 10s and 8s though (remaining from the semis I assume?) Kathaldazia received 0 18s Cumulonimbia received 1 (from Kath lol)
  17. There are often winners in BJSC that I don't like, often actively dislike, but I can usually see why they're so popular, but Release sounded like the kind of bang average dance Aquafina would finish 37th with  Looking at the rest of the top 10, I'm unlikely to do much to prevent it from winning through! :D
  18. Thought I might have climbed higher up the table with not voting for any of that 10. Not a bunch of songs that I'm overly fond of, Freed From Desire and What's Up probably the only ones that might have got close to my votes that I'd choose to listen to.
  19. I tend to find that most retro acts charge way more than I'd typically want to pay to see them, so I only ever see acts from 'before my time' at festivals really. The one exception is that I am going to see Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott next month, they committed to capping tickets at £30 for their whole tour which is excellent for arena venues.

  21. No one outside of Sky's team takes up as much of their programmes as Christian Horner, and frankly I'll be delighted to see much less of him.
  22. In December 2020 I didn't hear Mariah Carey's voice once, so Christmas in lockdown wasn't all bad.
  23. Think I missed Rolloland out of my votes by mistake, probably would have got 4-5 points. I hope the song that beat me by a tiebreak wasn't one I gave 2-4 points to
  24. Urgh how devastating :(
