I usually watched it as it was an easy watch and you always find some good comedians on it. It's certainly helped launch some careers, would be a big shame for that opportunity to go completely.

Very good race, if only that rain had come 5-10 minutes earlier! Mercedes just 30 points behind Ferrari now, incredible for them to be so close. Something I looked at earlier in the week has now happened, the first time Red Bull's second team have had 5 non-scoring consecutive races since Ricciardo and Vergne in 2012. AT really have been dreadful recently.

The grid is certainly set up for an exciting race. Hopefully Mercedes can show good race pace again and Russell can convert pole into a win. It's generally just really positive to have a third team up there.

I think it's very difficult to see Everton in anything other than a relegation scrap. Their squad is awful, their manager has questionable quality and the signings aren't ones I'd be wanting in at my team who are trying to survive. Their August run is quite pleasant, but if they get to the end of it with less than 7 points those fans will be easily turned.

This is certainly the least I've ever cared for a Mercury Prize list. Self Esteem and Little Simz albums are both amazing, other than that there's nothing I'd be bothered about listening to, maybe Joy Crookes at a push @1551876998775148544 :heart:

Thanks for your excellent hosting Rich! I thought I would like this a lot more than I did, ended up a bit disappointed. Really enjoyed my top 4 but as I said in the voting thread, a much of a muchness after that, listening to the playlist in one go really dragged. Pleased enough at how my entry did, was a bit of a rushed entry as I hadn't seen the initial thread, felt like an apt act to enter and some remixes of theirs are good, but I do wish it was a bit shorter, doesn't need to be over 7 minutes. I was unsure whether Pack of Wolves would have done better but perhaps not given its worse performance in the BJSC semi. Looking at the scorecard, 22 points swapped between Cody and I in a contest is certainly a surprise!

Brundle is such a huge miss when he's not there. It really was the B-team for Sky this weekend. My preferred lineup is Karun, Jenson and Naomi, and I'll take Johnny and Damon but Di Resta, Davidson and Rosberg on the same weekend? Eurgh

Wet Leg are the early favourites (meh) followed by Kae Tempest, Self Esteem and Little Simz. I would certainly expect all four of those to be nominated

Ferrari continue to throw away. Hard to see how Verstappen can lose this now, with such a lead he doesn't really need to take risks. Mercedes have, in a way, been excellent this year. They've got the maximum at nearly every race and their only retirement has been Russell's Silverstone crash. Hamilton with the same number of podiums as Leclerc :mellow:

I will hopefully give another listen through later before I vote but I might not. I will go against the grain and say this is a very meh contest. Nothing really bad but I find it all much a muchness with not much sticking out, and most entries could definitely be shorter (I don't exclude my own entry from that!)

Hopefully the end of Hero now, although my next target is Doctor Pressure so nice to see that closest to it

I'm absolutely loving Wide Eyes, a great return :wub: Going to have to revisit their previous albums, they were both so strong

Got round to listening to it yesterday, would agree it's probably stronger overall than the debut from first impression, though as I've never been quite sold on either Circumference or Ploys it was a pleasant surprise

1 year with the option of 1 more for Lingard makes it a bit of a no brainer really, minimises the risk. Reported to be closer to 120k a week than the original figures, which I think is fine for a player like that - proven, on a free and brings a greater commercial reach

Unfortunately clubs don't have much choice when their promotion was achieved with a heavy reliance on loan players. There were only 15 players that played 1,000+ for Forest minutes last season, Steve Cooper had a settled squad of trusted players and backups weren't used much. 5 of those were on loan and haven't returned (I'm sure we'd have liked 3 but Spence we had no chance, Man Utd will take ages to decide what to with Garner, and Villa have put way too high a priced on Davis), 2 were out of contract and wouldn't sign, Samba had a mardy about his pay situation so we've upgraded, and Joe Lolley is a shadow of his former self and told he could leave. So we're down to a decent 6 a side team and that includes Jack Colback - I'm not sure you want him to be a regular in the Premier League in 2022.

Until he's officially announce I'm going to assume Lingard is just trying to get West Ham to offer more, but what a signing Lingard would be
