So just missing out on our all important top 5 is...

    06. Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom (14 votes, 35.90%)

Yes, it's time to say goodbye to the fifth single from Minaj's second studio album, in the shape of 'Va Va Voom'. When the 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' album was released back in 2012, 'Va Va Voom' quickly became a fan favourite, with many questioning why it was not on the standard tracklisting and instead only on the deluxe. Lucky for us fans, it got the 'Superbass' treatment and was made a single despite it's album placing. The song was in fact intended to be released as the lead single for the whole album campaign, but was changed at the last minute in favour of 'Starships'. It seems, as much as the song is loved, this indeed was a clever move from Nicki's team, as when the song was finally released it only charted at #20 on the UK Singles Chart and #22 across the pond. However, it has had some success in this rate, coming very close to sneaking in the top 5. As much as I love 'Va Va Voom', I would say this placing is around right for it.

New artist watch time for Alessia Cara. Canadian singer/songwriter signed to Def Jam. Debut album is apparently coming this year, and if the debut single 'Here' is anything to go by, it should be rather lovely. Been listening to 'Here' a good bit recently. Really is the introvert's party anthem isn't it? Lovely lyrically and melodically.

  4. Really not impressed by that unfortunately.

I swear her diction never used to be quite that bad, I can hardly make out what she is saying as all the words are being run into one with some really uncomfortable to listen to high notes also thrown in. I have always been a fan of Leona's voice but it is by far at it's best when a little more subtle than she is using it in those clips.

Lyrically also, the songs seem to all be about her no longer being at Syco. Fair enough, make a song or two about it, but is it really going to be an entire album of "I was down but now I got up", "I am stronger without you" etc. throughout? It seems there that the lyrics all seem a little predictable and cliché. If she wanted to write a whole album about Cowell, do it in a more clever way that isn't so in your face obvious with every single line and isn't repeating the same kind of lyrics song to song because then it makes it seem you have nothing more to say.

Obviously this is only from those 5 snippets though. I do actually really like Leona and hope that the full songs and the rest of the album proves me wrong. Just I am nowhere near anticipating it like I was.

  5. I love Aisleyne so much and she has always been in my top 3 housemates ever, along with Makosi and Nikki (don't ask me the order, it changes all the time) but I don't know what on earth she was thinking in tonight's episode. She really isn't coming across very sane or rational in this whole Danny situation at all. Real shame as she is such a BB legend in my eyes.

    So falling out next is...

    08. Nicki Minaj - Pills N' Potions (12 votes, 31.58%)

It's time to say goodbye to the first single from Nicki's most recent album 'The Pinkprint', coming in at a very respectable 8th place. When the song was premiered back in May last year, it got an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, who loved seeing a more vulnerable side of Nicki once again. Much like the lead from her debut album, Nicki led with a delicate ballad, this time in an attempt to move away from what many had described her bubblegum pop era. This was to show that Nicki indeed did have depth, and it very much achieved what it set out too. Despite the positive reception, it unfortunately didn't translate into commercial success, with rather lip peaks of #24 on the US Billboard Charts and #31 over this side of the pond - not quite the big commercial comeback that some expected. However, Nicki subsequently proved later in the campaign she still had that in her and it certainly doesn't stop it from being a rather lovely song.

  8. I liked it a lot, reminded me a lot of Basement Jaxx's 'Good Luck' which I absolutely love.

However I don't think it is different enough from her previous singles to really hit the big time. I don't think it sounds massively different or more commercial than 'Together'. It is the same formula again.

  9. I don't really get the fuss over 'Which Witch'. I mean I do really like how big it sounds but I also feel as though there is something missing from it - it definitely sounds like the demo that it is. 'Queen Of Peace', 'Delilah', 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful', 'Third Eye' and 'Mother' are the stand out WOW tracks I think. All some of my favourite Florence songs ever already.

I still can't get over quite how good this album is either. I have always enjoyed Florence but never been a massive fan but this record has really turned that around and I have never liked her more. I would argue that the only song below an 8.0/10.0 on the standard tracklisting is indeed 'Ship To Wreck' and even that has grown on me a lot in the context of the album.

    So next to fall is...

    09. Nicki Minaj feat. Rihanna - Fly (13 votes, 30.23%)

Two of BuzzJack's favourite artists came together for Nicki's first full length LP 'Pink Friday', in the form of 'Fly'. Normally such a collab would guarantee a very high placing on such a rate like this, but it would appear although you like the song, it isn't really one of your favourites from either of their back catalogues. Unlike Nicki and Rihanna's other collab 'Raining Men', it is a rather calm and understated affair, with the main moments coming in the rather soaring chorus, as well as some memorable lyrics thoughout. 'Fly' performed decently worldwide, peaking at #16 in the UK and #19 on the US Billboard Charts.

So what should go next? Get voting and discussing below!

    Deadline: Sunday evening

  11. I really really like the album but I have to say it didn't quite live up to expectations. 'Kaleidoscope Dream' was an almost perfect record and this is solely a very strong one, I kind of wanted a little bit more. Nothing is really as instant or as exciting as on his previous work for me so far, but maybe I just need to give it more of a chance to continue to grow.

Having said that, coming out with an 8.0/10.0 album can't really be sneered at.

  12. I would do the whole thing but I've never listened to Alive once despite loving the other two,

Would be good for as many people to rate as many songs as possible so if you can't do all of Section B you could do most of it! Helps us get a better view of what people think of the album tracks if you do as many as you can!

So she may not be one of Buzzjack's favs (already anxious for some of the rates on here), but whether the impression bad or good, she has certainly made a massive impression on the music industry in the last 5 years, since she burst onto the pop stratosphere, and seeing as there hasn't yet been a rate for old Jessica Cornish, I thought it was indeed time. With 3 era's now under her belt, there are plenty of songs to rate. So let's get started.

    Rules:

    - When rating a song please rate between 0.0 and 10.0

    - Half rates (0.5's) are allowed but please no 10.5's

    - You are indeed allowed one 11.0 and one -01.0 per album section (however just one of each in the single rate section)

    - You can choose whether to rate Section A or Section B depending on how many songs you know, however as many people able to rate Section B the better!

No set deadline as of yet. Aiming to have it closed in the next 2 weeks or so though hopefully.
