The chorus of 'Getaway Car' reminds me so much of 'Masterpiece' by Jessie J :lol:

Bey sounds beautiful and the chorus is definitely the highlight. Really don't think the verses and the chorus mesh well though and the whole thing is a little dry for a lead.

I am so shocked at the positive critic reviews so far. Honestly was sure this was going to get a panning. The Guardian even putting "superb songcraft" in the title of their review?? Alternative facts galore.

I think she will end up doing somewhere around 65-70k.

'1989' must have been a fluke because this is even worse than I was expecting. I was expecting it to be bad lyrically but was at least expecting some strong choruses and undeniably high production value and I got neither. I'll keep 'Gorgeous', 'Delicate', 'Getaway Car' and at a push 'Call It What You Want' but even that is kinda disposable. What a massive comedown from '1989' where I genuinely enjoyed every song.

About to give this my first listen. Kind of tentative as I haven't been impressed with the material so far this era and I am finding her more and more insufferable. '1989' was a fantastic pop album though and I am willing myself to like this. Let's see how this goes.

So glad this doesn't include 'Shockandawe' as it just wasn't that strong. Loving 'Told You So' and still adore 'Sky Walker' so I am defo hyped for this.

I'm not loving this album as much as I should in full. I think it's because I love her so much and I think she could have made one of the best records of the year and yet it's held down from being so with the inclusion of some dull dross like 'Sam' and 'Hearts' which are just way too nicey nicey Ed Sheeran for me. Jessie has always been pretty Radio 2, but when she first came out with 'Devotion' the material was still so boundary pushing and edgy enough to keep her feeling so cool too. I can't help but feel she's going a tad too much in just the Radio 2 direction and the end product is an album which feels like her most safe to date? I have to say though, despite feeling like a few dull tracks let it down, the standard of the highs are outstanding and there are some tracks on here that are amongst her best ever. 'Thinking About You', 'First Time' and 'Finish What We Started' are incredible and will be on repeat for a long while. I'm still also so obsessed with 'Midnight' and 'Selfish Love' too. Maybe it's because I was expecting such high quality as they are so 10/10 and then I got an 7.5/8 on a good day album.

'Right Thru Me' is wonderful and is in my top 5 Nicki songs, it is just so good. 'The Night Is Still Young' should not be anywhere near that high. It's her worst 'pop' song for me, even all the 'Roman Reloaded' pop album tracks are strong than it. Nicki at her most basic.

#51 is not bad really all things considered. I'm just so happy I have this album in my life finally as its everything I've been needing :wub:

tWPDww10aic I know this is 15 minutes long but it is so worth a watch as it really puts the album in context and makes me love the record so much more. Seeing her being so frank and open throughout and get emotional when talking about 'Enough' and 'Bluff' really got to me. She really wears her heart on her sleeve and she just feels so human. I don't know, she is just so real and I love her.

Everything about this post. 'Blacker The Berry' is one of my absolute favourite singles of his (along with 'King Kunta') and so should not be going. I was also the other person who voted 'Loyalty'. I love it but compared to some of the other tracks on DAMN. it's not as strong and wouldn't have received single treatment if the collab wasn't so high name. Both have way better in their discography.

Don't Hold Your Breath is so gonna beat all of the iconic PCD anthems isn't it :(? It's good but no way in hell is it better than the PCD material.
