'The Roof' at 31 is criminal...

‘Underneath The Stars’ deserved to be much higher. No way is it only a 7/10 song come on guys. I am on tenter-hooks to see where ‘The Roof’ places. My favourite song of all time (not just Mariah song)… and to see how many low votes it got makes me v nervous.

This is such an outstandingly good EP. Every track is fantastic. I would love her to build on this sound for her next album. Something about ‘Young Gun’ is so haunting and emotional to me.

Crybaby and Sweetheart the biggest casualties so far for me!

She has been rushed into intensive care with blood clots on her internal organs it’s being reported!! Pray for Tori. She’s way too much of a shining light for anything to happen to. Please.

Shame about the 20 place drop for Stormzy and Raye. I would love it to become a proper hit.

Just got back and I mainly loved it… the script was super sharp, very clever and thought it was all perfectly pitched. It both managed to satirise the problems with Barbie whilst also celebrating the feminist possibilities so well. It got the tone just right, whilst managing to have lots of laugh out loud moments. My criticisms were mainly that although some parts were laugh out loud funny, there was definitely a bit of dip in the humour quality in the scenes in the ‘real world’ Barbie headquarters. Some of that was a little too much SNL type cringe humour for me. Also I wasn’t sure if I loved the ending? It seemed a little off kilter with the rest of it and I wouldn’t have chose that ending personally. I would give it a 7.5/10 personally.

The production on this is flawless. I think it needs time to grow on me as it’s obviously not the most immediate lead single, but I can see it sitting perfectly in a larger album/body of work. And I’m enjoying the return to more moody sounds like this.

Seems to have leaked LQ online... Not sure if it is just the quality of the leak, but it seems like a very bare and laidback instrumental, to the point where sounds like one of the least commercial and deepest cuts from the 'Nightride' era. I am always happy with Alt R&B mixtape Tinashe, but I am not sure yet... Let's see what Friday brings.

Oh great to know, I thought it was one more week! Obviously don’t follow the chart rules as closely anymore.

Brilliant that we managed another week in the official top 10! I do think that we are looking at the end of its chart run with a drop to 14-16 next week, and then on ACR the week after which could realistically mean out of the top 40? Would be lovely to see it miss ACR but unless there is some surprise I just can’t see it. Either way Padam doesn’t need to achieve more at this stage. We did it!

I mean... it depends on what you deem as success I suppose. I don't think FLO as an R&B band are going to have the appeal of Little Mix or any of these girlbands who get #01's. Also I don't really agree about throwing everything at 'Fly Girl', they released it and then I didn't see a massive amount of promo? There were no big TV performances in the UK booked, I actually remember how I was surprised at how quickly they moved on from the 'Fly Girl' campaign... in my opinion they could have defo wen't harder with it than they did. It has become their biggest song alongside 'Cardboard Box' which was exactly what they needed in that moment. I also think that FLO have gained a steady and loyal fanbase and don't seem to just be throwing things out there for the sake of it.. the fact they are taking time to get the album right is a good thing for me. There is no way we aren't getting an album by Q1 next year. I think even with the fanbase they have now, a debut album could easily clear 8-10k first week and give them a lovely first album peak. That would be a success to me (but again, it depends on what kinda success you are expecting).

The bonus track ‘Suite Life’ is out now and goes OFF. What a strong EP.

I’m thinking either #12 or #13 this week then… let’s hope for #12 for a smaller drop. What is #13 in todays update and around 600 copies behind? Do we know?

I’m not concerned. I think this is a happy medium to keep the fans happy with some new material whilst they narrow down their more commercial stuff. As great as these songs are (especially ‘Control Freak’) it is obvious none of these would be the best follow up for ‘Fly Girl’, so the fact they have recognised this, kept their fans off their back and happy for a few more months and have got a few more songs to play live to beef out their live shows this summer, I think it’s a win win.

Just because it’s probably peaked doesn’t mean it’s done… it’s still one of the biggest hits right now. Let’s stop with the dramatics. Getting multiple weeks top 10 is beyond most of our wildest dreams for Kylie. I’m happy with a decent chart run from here on out. It’s already achieved.

If I’m honest, I don’t think they should be really considering Single 2 yet… I feel like we need to leave it at least another 2 months for ‘Padam Padam’ to do its thing. If the ‘Tension’ album release date is staying September 22nd, I would personally hold single 2 until Friday, 25th August. Drop the physical CD’s on Friday 8th September, cassettes on Friday 15th September (after the success of this cassette campaign) and then obviously album release week would give single 2 a boost too, so you’re guaranteed a Week 3, Week 4 and Week 5 boost.

Wow - 306k in a single week is insane. I knew CGYOOMH was a mammoth but that’s ridiculous.

Looking at those figures, I do think top 10 may be a struggle depending on how strong the figures are... if they are as strong as last week it may be hard. I am predicting: - Physical - 10,500 (most fans will have already bought theirs, but she has released new ones today so that could climb more) - Download - 3,000 (don't see it doing more than double it is now, as already falling down iTunes slightly and doing around 170 a day) - Streams - 9,000 (if it has done 3.5k with Friday it's strongest day included... I don't see 10k being reachable) - Video - 500 (views aren't huge) = 23,000 final sales figures As I said, depends on the strength of the other songs in that region... but those sales would have given Leigh a #15 position last week. I think an active Twitter campaign could turn it around though and keep top 10 if it galvanises the LM fanbase... maybe a Wednesday or Thursday update showing it is just about to fall out of top 10 would manage to do that so still all to play for?
