Proud of the team, it was disappointing having put ourselves in the position to make the final, but it’s not been a bad 8 years and it’s not easy to win a tournament; very few countries have done it! Going to take those songs being so high as a celebration of that rather than awkward

Lovely shakeup today, Prospa and Cloonee and Shakira/Burna Boy could finally breach the top 10 this week! Proper summer vibes for this heatwave, just like in 2018 - hopefully a better result on Wednesday than in the semi final that year! Add Anotr to this list as well!

It doesn’t seem to matter this year, songs just aren’t getting heard - I haven’t heard Charli’s yet, but the other three are all worthy of at least a top 20 debut imo

Another week of precious few new entries then - where are Sombr, Charli, Gracie and Benson? We’re really sleeping on songs this year!

That’s fantastic, I created quite a few of the Wikipedia pages for the top 10 singles charts going all the way back, and that got me listening to a lot of older music I hadn’t discovered

Maybe in the past, and maybe I’ll buck the trend but I’m 34 and going to make sure I discover new music forever - don’t get me wrong I still get nostalgic for the music of my youth and listen to a healthy mix of that alongside the new music

The reason they stick around for so long is a bulk of the British public’s music taste is so set in stone they won’t try anything new which is sad - I couldn’t imagine not keeping up with new music

My list was the same except I also included Lullaby - and Tit for Tat should also be there above Talk of the Town, was number 54 in that chart

“Too Lost in You” always reminds me of this time of year because of Love Actually - the others are definitely less obvious (although Night Changes does have winter vibes)

All female top 5 albums officially this week

I ageee Opalite has peaked, but for me it’s my absolute favourite on the album - I would like to see a few more get their moment though

Is there a list of the sales of top 3 singles for this year? Would be interested to see overall how the three TS singles rank already.

Opalite is my favourite on the album so hope it does make it, I love Elizabeth Taylor too but wouldn’t mind if that makes way for TLOAS

Honestly sums up my feelings about Buzzjack, as much as I love the forum and the community, and have a deep love of music of many genres, to see artists like Alex, Ed and Lewis dismissed does feel wrong, and this actually makes sense why it is

Probably down to Buzzjack’s general dislike of Ed more than anything (which I still will never understand). Such a great set of #1s, I struggled to put a least favourite

Or it could just be a good comeback song (one of his best imo and I’m a big fan). Still don’t understand the dislike that talented male artists with heartfelt songs get on here

2024 was such an amazing year for music so it’s not a surprise that plenty of the big hits are sticking around, but it’s a shame that plenty of great new songs from this year aren’t landing as hard, even from those same artists - particularly want Blink Twice to have a sharp rise and hope Myles new song has a decent shot, and Benson to get top 10 with both his recent releases, feels like this year still hasn’t properly got started and we’re nearly in May!
