Because of how fast global warming and climate change are accelerating, I predict that shit’s REALLY going to hit the fan for us by the year 2030. Everything to do with climate change has happened sooner than expected, and faster than expected. Soon, modern civilisation as we know it will collapse. We will revert back to pre-industrial ways of living. Say goodbye to everything you know and love. Modern health care and medicine, electricity, technology, food and water security, you name it. On top of this, global warming will reach unliveable and unsurvivable levels for MANY of us. Places such as Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, France, and Croatia will become like deserts. This will be further exacerbated by the 9 planetary tipping points. Things that are carbon sinks (things that absorb carbon dioxide) will become carbon sources (things that release carbon dioxide). Carbon sinks are include the Amazon rainforest, the kelp forests, and phytoplankton. The Arctic permafrost is set to thaw out in the future. It contains double the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. About 1.7 trillion tons of it. Once it ruptures, global warming will increase at a very rapid rate. People in the Global South will start migrating to cooler regions - that’s until the developed nations become too hot themselves. On top of that, food security and water security will be at all time lows. Many people are going to die of starvation and dehydration. Not to mention the threat of nuclear wars for the last remaining resources, all while the mega rich are in their doomsday bunkers. Let’s just say, humanity is absolutely f***ed. I see every single person here dying a premature death, including myself. This is how serious this is.
