Czech Republic: 'Lights Off' by We Are Domi Finland is very borderline, I feel it may get forgotten by the end of the semi. Israel should get through based on the vocal and whilst I feel the revamp was a little disappointing, 99% of the viewers will not have heard that version. Serbia is my favourite of the night and whilst I was worried about it pulling a 'Telemoveis' at first, I think she's a dead cert to go through now, the Balkan vote for this will be huge. Azerbaijan is also incredible vocally and they've still only failed once (even that was 11th) so they're safely through. I thought Georgia had a chance to sneak in before we got to Turin, but sadly I don't think the staging is enough to push it through. Malta will probably do it's traditional 'through on the jury but dead last on the televote'. San Marino. I WANT it to go through, especially after the semi 1 results, this is needed on the Saturday night. This should be through on the televote even without Italy voting tonight, it all depends how the jury took to it. Australia would've been top 3 on the jury last night so I think they're through regardless how well they do in the televote tonight. Cyprus feels borderline, I can see it getting lost but they're on a strong qualification streak, think it can sneak through in 9th or 10th. Ireland is the first pure pop banger of the night. If the juries are looking for a radio hit, I can't see how they could've ignored this. North Macedonia was always going to be an uphill battle, think it's got last place on lock unfortunately. Estonia should be safely through, if 'Storm' in 2019 could come third in the televote then 'Hope' should have no problem. Romania have done the best they could've possibly done with this, sadly I think it's going to just miss out in 11th or 12th, really hope I'm wrong though! Poland 's vocal will carry them through, if we were to have a shock NQ of the 3 sad boys, I think this would be it but I think it's unlikely. Montenegro and Belgium are very competent and done well, don't see where there votes will come from though. Sweden and Czech Republic should both be through easily, could well be the top 2 of the semi overall, both excellent. Want 01. Finland: 'Jezebel' by The Rasmus 02. 7. @1524135078212866053 No rest for the wicked and it's already time for round 2! Another 18 countries are competing for the final 10 spots in Saturday's grand final. Again, the national juries who are responsible for 50% of the result will be voting on tonight's dress rehearsal (hopefully that will go smoother than this afternoon's first run through!), whilst the other 50% come from the televote during tomorrow night's live show. All 18 competing countries will be voting, along with Germany, Spain and United Kingdom. 8q4bW_Fcnmw
  8. Thoughts on the non-qualifiers. Albania To say a couple of weeks ago this was a universally regarded locked qualifier, I'm pretty shocked Ronela has missed out. I wasn't a huge fan of the staging and styling of the performance, it was much better at FiK and suited the song more. It's a cliche for Albania, but reds and blacks would've fit a lot better than the neon pink and blue she went with (like Croatia last year, doesn't bode well for Brooke tomorrow!). The sound of the smoke jets I felt were really loud and off-putting as well, and the recap clip didn't seem to do it any favours. However, she's comfortably second in terms of YouTube views on the official channel (only behind Ukraine) so I think she made it on the televote, the juries must have placed her in the bottom 3. Latvia I thought they had a great performance that felt far more like the start of the show. I think this would've been close, probably Moldova took their place, I was really surprised at how well that looked on screen compared to what most press had been saying. If Latvia and Moldova had been switched in the running order, I think it could've been a different outcome for them. Slovenia Not a shock at all, they did the absolute best they could've done with it. It would've been a DNQ in any spot, but to go before Ukraine was the worst place they could've had. Bulgaria Visually, I think this was one of the best of the night, but good staging will never drag through a terrible song, and this was a terrible song. Croatia Again no shock, it was fine but easily the most forgettable performance of the night for me. Denmark Perhaps the long ballad intro really killed this, going after Portugal and Croatia people took the opportunity to go get a drink/go to the toilet/whatever. I wasn't fussed on having this through, felt a bit too 'BBC playing it safe' and we all know where that gets you. Austria Well we had Gromee, then Darude and now LUM!X, safe to say we won't be seeing any DJs coming through the internal selections for a while now. The vocal was not it, I feel really bad for Pia because she is not a terrible singer, but she had the weight of the world on her ever since that Israel Calling performance. I felt like it really needed dancers as well. Perhaps these DJs need to take a leaf out of Donatan's book and just do the song and leave the stage show up to someone else.

Armenia: 'Snap' by Rosa Linn Ukraine, Greece and Norway are definite qualifiers whilst Slovenia, Bulgaria and Croatia are all DOA. Albania, Armenia and Netherlands are all pretty likely, would be really shocked to see any of these miss out. The rest I feel could go either way but I'm thinking Latvia will join Norway in being one of the viral runaways on social media, thus knocking out Moldova, I feel they've really missed the staging train this year. I agree with the sentiment that Denmark have qualified in tougher semis with worse songs and the running order does them well coming after Portugal & Croatia, provided people don't give up on it before we get to the chorus! Portugal & Iceland are very beautifully staged and the songs should have been jury catnip last night. Lithuania, Switzerland and Slovenia feel like they're going to be completely memory-holed between Latvia and Ukraine. Want 01. Albania: 'Sekret' by Ronela Hajati 02. 12. @1523647381522239489 Welcome to Turin for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest! We're in Italy this year following Måneskin's victory in Rotterdam last year with 'Zitti e buoni', catapulting them to international stardom! The Sound Of Beauty is our slogan, with Alessandro Cattelan, Laura Pausini and Mika (yes, that Mika) as our hosts. Tomorrow night is the 1st semi final, followed by another on Thursday, both looking for 10 qualifiers to join the Big 5 in Saturday's grand final. Tonight 50% of the result will be decided by the national juries, with the other 50% coming from the televote during tomorrow night's live broadcast. You can vote if you're in one of the competing countries (+ France & Italy). So get those flags out and let the Eurovision Song Contest begin! DykX5iBMnUs
