  1. iam so happy for them. 6 years since the last one and i have been thinking for a while now that this might be their last chance to have a number one in the singles chart. The market are changing. When TT realese their next first single form an album, streaming will probably be bigger then Itunes, just like in Scandinavia and good old bands like TT will suffer from that.
  2. I dont know a single person that download music illegally since like 2008 as ther are free streamings now. But iam from Sweden, when nobody, not even the oldies, uses itunes anymore.
  3. How importent will streaming be for the top spot on the singles chart? In scandinavia, streaming is is over 95 % of the singles chart but i guess is not the same thing in the UK ^_^
  4. Iam pretty shocked really why streaming is still sutch a small part of the UK chart. In scandinavia, the singles chart is based on over 95 % of Spotify. Itunes sales are close to zero and has been for severel years. The Swedish and Norwedian singles chart started to including it alredy in 2010. In a way, i just dont understand why people these days pay for every single song insted of just listening everything for like 5 £ without any ads or something. These days, even the album charts includes streaming, and it really feels a bit messy as nobody really knows how they put together those charts.

I feel a bit sorry for them. Mosts critics seem to be happy or at least, dont care that much. But there are some great songs also on the last 2 albums. Its sad that Collapse into now was sutch a sales flop. Not the best ending. And this new greatest hits isent selling eather
  6. hey whadever was the start of westlife as a very uninspired, low quality and 'predictable period of westlife lasting to the end. Brian McFadden was the only real creative part of westlife, the only decent songwriter. When they lost him, they never got back in the same good formula. When Turnaround sold less then half of the previous albums. The record conpany went bannanas and the result was the laughable rat pack album they where forced to do and many years of cover singles as the orginal songs wasent good enough. Its a bit wierd that in the first years. They had stronger songs, more controll of their own career and they also wrote a bunch of songs on their own, (much thanks to Brian) As they got older and older, the less controll they got on their own and over the last years, its been very clear that they arent in charge of anything.. Its pathetic that after 14years in the business, they are more kind of Marionette dolls then they where 10 years ago. Its tragic, how things become and the sales over the last years is the result of that
  7. Sorry, but you cant see it that way. just bicause westlife sales this week would have been enough for the number one spot last week dosent mean it would have topped the charts. Sales where higher overall this week and their sales would be lower to. The last few years havent been good to them. 2009- Where we are becomes their lowest selling album ever, even worst then Frank. 2010- Gravity dosent even come close to Qhere we are sales and bacomes their lowest selling album ever. 2011- Miss the top 10 chart with a single for the first time with their last ever single. - Miss the top 3 in the album charts for the first time. Not much of a happy ending
  8. Yes i also think he will, the album will fall just like the single lighthouse single did from 15 in the midweek to 32 after the fans got their copy. If it ends up at 4 it will be their lowest charting album ever just like the single was
  9. The most laughable thing in Westlife land is that some fans still think that Coast to Coast has sold 12 million copies worldwide. Its and old Louis Walsh lie and the truth is that the album probably dont even sold half the amount.

  12. Since when are What about now, uptown Girl and I have a dream westlife songs? Those are covers, and some of them even sold better with the orginal artist. Uptown Girl was a bigger hit with Billy Joel for example. Thats why people in generel got tired of them, bicause of the covers and most of them had alredy been heard a few million times before. Westlife have 9 orginal number ones, just like TT and they have scored those from just 6 albums.
  13. well it was a top 10. The video is sure better then all westlife videos. All they do is standing there and Waving with their arms. I think the sales numbers for Take that speaks for itself
  14. You are funny  They havent done something wow you said? well, most people, lile 99 % of the critics thinks their music is better and i think their sales speaks for it selfs. What do you mean westlife being hard working? They are and have always been a karoke product band with absolute no controll of their own career. Its Pathetic to see that efter 13 years in the industri, they still arent in charge of anything and have always done the same formula with one album in November and toons of cover songs. 5 of those nummer ones are covers so dont bee a Fool comparing that to the beatles orginal songs. the last time WL sold Gold or more with a single was back in 2011 with Upptown Girl. Over the last 6 years, Over the last 6 years of TT. 5 of their singles have eather topped the single chart or selling gold or platina.. Here is the total sales for them Westlife Date: 1/11/1999 UK Position: 2 UK sales: 1,445,000 Coast To Coast Date: 6/11/2000 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,659,000 World Of Our Own Date: 12/11/2001 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,165,000 Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Vol 1 Date: 11/11/2002 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,073,000+ (the album re-enters every year around Christmas in the UK Chart) Turnaround Date: 24/11/2003 UK Position: 1 UK sales: around 750,000 ...Allow Us To Be Frank Date: 18/11/2004 UK Position: 2 UK sales: over 600,000 Face To Face Date: 31/10/2005 UK Position: 1 UK sales: nearly 1,300,000 The Love Album Date: 20/11/2006 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 851,000+ Back Home UK Position : 1 UK Sales : 910.000+ Where we are Uk sales- 620 000 Gravity- Uk sales 360 000 total sales around 10,393 000 That That Take that and party- 720 000 everything changes- 1,300 000 Nobody else - 650 000 Beautiful World 2,801,939 Cricus 2,150,472 Never Forget: Ultimate Collection 2,094,070 Greatest hits- 900 000 Cirkus live- 740 000 Progress- 2,300 000 Total sales- around 13,656 000 So with just 6 studio albums, Take That still beats the shit out of Westlife in Total album sales. As a tour band, Westlife arent even close eather. Progress sold more then 7 times more then Gravity, even their live albums do better and now westlife is leaving before its gets to embarrassing as the sales just getting lower and lower for every album
  15. Still on top? Back home sold over 900 000 copies. Where we are sold around 650 000 Gravity sold just over 330 000 copies. And lighthouse will be their lowest charting single ever. Recent years have just been a long and painful downhill for them so they cant really say they finnish on top

Yes, but their third single, said it all charted at place 9. I knew upp all night wouldent chart that high. They where trying for a new shine but, it just isent that good. Progress has severel potential singles, but its very hard to precitd how good they will do in the chart.
  17. So willl westlife miss the top 10? based on the last days dive?
  18. Do you think westlife will miss the top 10 ?
  19. Well tte newspaper says that 2 minutes of silence charty song will go to number one. I dont have a clue about it. When will we be able to hear that song? And why os not that in the list with the others?

So now when the X-factor single is deleyed. Who will TT be fighting with in the UK single chart for the number one?
  21. tryffel posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Iam more intresting in the single battle. TT could have their 12 number one single. Do they have a chance? and when can we hear that x factor single they be racing against?
  22. What do you mean with that? They had sales certifications for Germany back then to. And Germany is, or at least it was the third biggest Music market in the world. He also only have one number single single there compared to 9 with abba and Elvis was in the industri for over 20 years. Severel Scandinavian acts have sold better then Elvis in Germany
