Imo, Baby One More Time is the definitive song of the bubblegum pop era of the late nineties/early noughties and while poker face, bad romance and just dance are classics from the electropop/dancepop era we are in now, the definitive song of this era is I Gotta Feeling

Sorry I meant in the UK, the problem with using worldwide sales is due to the internet and globalisation, artists like lady gaga have been able to use it to get more sales while in the early 2000's it wasn't used for this purpose. Also, mediatraffic measures airplay so we can't take that as a fact for selling more

Baby One More Time sold 1.5 million......

iTunes Chart: May 2011 (IV)
I have to agree with this and Eric as well, britneys biggest song baby one more time was ridiculously huge, and bigger than gagas biggest which could be either seen as poker face or bad romance and that IMO are both their peaks

Which US hits do you wish were hits in the UK?
Can't believe hey soul sister has been missed out, narrowly missed out on the best selling single in 2010 in the US and only peaked at no.18 and also I'm Yours, another song that is one of only 10 songs in the digital era to sell over 5 million in the US and it peaked at 11, however, i'm glad both have become well known for great longevity in the charts
