At the moment for me, my top 5 for number ones would probably be on the floor, grenade, changed the way you kiss me, price tag and give me everything although for everyone else I'm sure songs like grenade and give me everything would be in a lot of buzzjackers worst 5 number ones of the year :P

I can see where you're coming from, the faster pace chart does make it more interesting but nothing came out that was of interest to me personally and the majority of songs that did do well, such as she makes me wanna and swagger jagger really aren't my cup of tea. For me, from april to the end of june/early july was my favourite part of the year so far although it is clearly not on a patch with 2009 and 2010.

I suppose, july and early august up to swagger jagger were the absolute nadir. I haven't seen a worst and most boring part of a year in music as that in a very long time if you get what I mean.

At least they've got better since swagger jagger
  5. Depends if you would class his new single as urban, although imo I don't think he is. I think he is a singer songwriter
  6. I feel the need to bump this topic because bre has broken his record for the longest time without posting on this topic once again

IMO I think example will take no.1, he will be around 80% by the end of today and I think he will be able to make up 20% tomorrow to get no.1 on iTunes plus he has got his EP selling well
  8. I thought don't wanna go home by derulo split example and DJ fresh?

Emeli looks like she might go back up to 4, she is only 0.4 behind Christina perri. What is the reason behind this small boost?

Nice to see Emeli finally above wretch 32

what about songs that sold well in the 80's like the original band aid and 70's like the boney m singles? I presume it must be quite hard to find weekly sales for them though

  13. It will be interesting to see what the video will be like, if it will be the brits performance, another performance or an original video

It's nearer bad meets evil than Bruno in terms of themes

I really hope Ed manages to get number 1 that week, YNMIDNY is better than Stay Awake and is so catchy. It also deserves to do better than the a team which is quite good although not on the same level as YNMIDNY
  17. It makes you wonder how Newcastle managed to win 5-1 against Sunderland and 6-0 against Aston Villa last year

    Your song at 98

It probably was released just as rolling in the deep was tearing up the charts over there
  20. I think the top 3 would be dynamite, forget you and love the way you lie, they've all passed five million and although hey soul sister has, I think some of it's sales came in 2009
  21. I'm sure it is because I remember it was the first song from 2010 to cross the 5 million Mark in the us and with it's insane longevity I doubt even love the way you lie which has also crossed it has overtaken it. I do agree with you that it does seem like a standard song but considering tik tok did similarly well and they're quite similar songs it doesn't surprise me
  22. Don't forget it is also currently the biggest selling single of the decade over there

I hoping x factor isn't just a singing contest of who can sing an adele song best. Hopefully after last year with cher, we will have some more creative song choices than just the standard ballads that turn up every series. Adele is not the only artist I can see getting overplayed and oversung on the show, I think Bruno Mars is another artist although not to the same extent as adele and songs like forget you are bound to be sung loads
