No, HMV closed in Ireland a few years ago. Golden Discs is our equivalent and have 14 stores here.

I really think this will be the end of HMV and other physical music-focused retailers. Golden Discs are the Irish equivalent, in a much better financial position, and they've temporarily closed here. I'd be shocked if HMV has enough liquidity to stay afloat if they've to close their doors.

I think Over My Head was also their first big hit in the US and just as big as How To Save a Life (both are certified 3 x Platinum).

I'm not sure how this 'removes a revenue stream' for them, the album sold the exact same regardless of where it charts. Very overdramatic.

If Selena had held off releasing one day later she'd have most definitely debuted at #1.
