Aren’t there rules about eligibility criteria? Chappell deservedly had an amazing 2024 but putting her on an upcoming 2025 list feels incredibly disingenuous after she’s had multiple hits and a #1 album.

It seems to just be a new way for labels/artists to label tracks so if it's a bomb they can just say it's not a single. To the actual listener it's inconsequential how it's labelled.

Apt would be an excellent #1, shame it's unlikely to get there.
  4. Not Tom Grennan finally getting the highest chart Christmas song.

The biggest challenge with Leona’s second album is they just tried to repeat the formula of the first. A big Ryan Tedder produced ballad should have been an easy smash but Happy was just so lifeless. She needed far more of a statement song. It’s a pity as Echo is a far superior album to the debut, it was just totally mishandled.

If only Maxipads had bought more we could have had a great Xmas #1 and wouldn't have had to endure that Sausage Roll nonsense for so many years.

Is this year on track to have the lowest selling Christmas #1 album? And same for the singles?

I’m glad some people have sense on here. The Last Easter garbage story has been perpetuated long enough.

The Albums charts are far more of a disaster. The fact that literal playlists like The Weeknd's are classed as an album makes zero sense.

Kesha's new Xmas song is excellent so I'm totally here for her scamming another "hit".

It's one month from today, think you're being a tad over dramatic.

Is Cher getting much playlist support with her Christmas song? It was an unexpected hit last year so I'm curious if that will continue.

Band Aid should release a physical variant for each artist on Band Aid 40, likely the only way they'll get anywhere near #1.

    Where has Gaga slipped to?

So you only listen to mainstream music and curated playlists, got it.

I'm shocked how low Razorlight are, I thought they'd have a bit more of a fanbase.

Kylie's apparently quite significantly ahead of Rag & Bone Man in the midweeks so I almost wish her team had held these additional versions to soften the week 2 drop.

That Sam Ryder song was excellent, I really hope it pops up on other streaming services this year if the Amazon exclusivity is over.

Charli xcx must be one of the biggest cases of Emperor's New Clothes I've ever seen. The album, outside of the odd good track (Guess), is an absolutely dire, tuneless, squeaky mess.

What were Coldplays week 2 sales for their last album? They’ve huge physical numbers so could be in for a very steep drop.

I still think they'll be very front-loaded and probably finish the week closer to 200k but that's still a really impressive achievement.
  22. Was it really worth joining just to post an essay where you hate on everything

    Oh sod it. Iconic.

Vile, why would she record that and put it in a song :puke2:

This must be a sick joke. His albums will plummet down the charts but this Greatest Hits will be lodged in the Top 10 until the end of time.
