Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
How much did the previous live albums do in their first week? I seem to recall Progress didn’t chart too high?

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
I believe it’ll be treated as two separate entries for DVD and album. Not a great start on iTunes, but hoping it might creep into the top 10 based on physicals!

Ah, will take a look. Thanks for flagging! I do remember cringing pretty hard when Cheryl kept reaching for those notes...

Album release - The Christmas Present
I think this release is extremely clever. Could be a Bublé-esc recurring album every Xmas. Looking forward to listening to it!

Seeing the news about Robbie’s Xmas album, would you want to see a TT Xmas release? Is it a missed opportunity?

Album release - The Christmas Present
Any word on the track listing?

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Very good point - and at least this version won’t cannibalise the UC sales

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
It was more frustrating when lily allen pipped him in May after his James corden interview

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Yes, These Days is one of my favourite TT songs. It’s got even better with age!

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
How do we think that is album will do in the charts? Possible number 1?

Saying that, I do like Giants!

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Wonderland did feel a little like a cheaper rehash of Circus - like, copying the theme. If that makes sense?

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Also intriguing hearing him acknowledge the fans want the power ballads more. And...when he says, “who knows, we might be back as a 4”...personally, I can’t see them coming back unless or until they have either Jason, or Rob back for the record.

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Fascinating additional chapter. Also quite interesting hearing him mention the feedback he received on the health /diet element of the book

Yes, dvd for November. I wonder if they release it with the CD again? Like they did with III

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
How much lead time did GB give before announcing and releasing Open Road?
-
Music Played By Humans: 27 November
Yeah, I doubt it now too, but I had hoped. Not Least because it would have surely charted better than #34!

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
Strong list! I think it’s likely to not include any songs from 12 months, except possibly lie to me.

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
I don’t think we’ll see another TT record with the three of them - I think they’ll hold off now and almost re-boot when (and if) they feel Robbie and/or Jason will come back for an album and tour. They’ll need something like that to cut through the noise and reintroduce themselves again - as we saw after Progress, the 4 year wait worked against them in the end. Speaking of which, unbelievable that it’s been nearly 10 years since Progress!

Music Played By Humans: 27 November
I guess this would mean a tour in April 2020...!

New Gary album confirmed - sounds like it’ll very traditional Gary/Take That-esc! There’s new music in the air.I’m happy to announce a new solo record for the Autumn of 2020. I’ve done so much in my career but the one thing I’ve never recorded is a record with an orchestra. Original songs with big contemporary orchestral arrangements. I better be off then ....

Take That - Odyssey: The Greatest Hits
Interesting that some believe a straight GH comprising of the previously released singles would have done better than the Odyssey versions. I don’t really see why, when people had those versions already? I find it quite refreshing (despite not enjoying all of these new versions) that they tried something different and didn’t just take the easy road out and port 20 songs onto a CD and send it out.

Take That Best and Worst Album
Completely agree with both of these points! Wonderland is my least fav album, as mentioned for the same reasons many have already alluded to. TT&P also hasn’t aged well. My fav three albums would have to be BW, Circus and III in that order. I really liked the direction of III - These Days was a great single; Higher than Higher is one of their best in my view; Freeze; and the couple of extra songs in the Deluxe were also very strong. Looking at the results so far, III is joint second if you add the Deluxe and normal editions up, which despite my views, I didn’t expect to see! Wonderland. I mean. What happened there? It was rushed. It missed its usual Xmas release. Missed the #1 spot. Although, the tour was good. Question is where do the band go from here. Personally, I think fresh blood and ideas are needed. Jason or even a Robbie cameo would be needed to realign their sound for the 2020s. Will that happen? Who knows. But the charts now are against them and they’ll need to become relevant again like they did in 2006.

I wonder which songs they dropped and included?

I’m still waiting to see about this Vegas residency! Think it’ll happen? Strong performance again - shame it missed top 20, but a good return sales and charts wise
