  1. I don’t think we’ll see another TT record with the three of them - I think they’ll hold off now and almost re-boot when (and if) they feel Robbie and/or Jason will come back for an album and tour. They’ll need something like that to cut through the noise and reintroduce themselves again - as we saw after Progress, the 4 year wait worked against them in the end. Speaking of which, unbelievable that it’s been nearly 10 years since Progress!
  2. I guess this would mean a tour in April 2020...!
  3. New Gary album confirmed - sounds like it’ll very traditional Gary/Take That-esc! There’s new music in the air.I’m happy to announce a new solo record for the Autumn of 2020. I’ve done so much in my career but the one thing I’ve never recorded is a record with an orchestra. Original songs with big contemporary orchestral arrangements. I better be off then ....
  4. Interesting that some believe a straight GH comprising of the previously released singles would have done better than the Odyssey versions. I don’t really see why, when people had those versions already? I find it quite refreshing (despite not enjoying all of these new versions) that they tried something different and didn’t just take the easy road out and port 20 songs onto a CD and send it out.
  5. Completely agree with both of these points! Wonderland is my least fav album, as mentioned for the same reasons many have already alluded to. TT&P also hasn’t aged well. My fav three albums would have to be BW, Circus and III in that order. I really liked the direction of III - These Days was a great single; Higher than Higher is one of their best in my view; Freeze; and the couple of extra songs in the Deluxe were also very strong. Looking at the results so far, III is joint second if you add the Deluxe and normal editions up, which despite my views, I didn’t expect to see! Wonderland. I mean. What happened there? It was rushed. It missed its usual Xmas release. Missed the #1 spot. Although, the tour was good. Question is where do the band go from here. Personally, I think fresh blood and ideas are needed. Jason or even a Robbie cameo would be needed to realign their sound for the 2020s. Will that happen? Who knows. But the charts now are against them and they’ll need to become relevant again like they did in 2006.
  6. I wonder which songs they dropped and included?
  7. I’m still waiting to see about this Vegas residency! Think it’ll happen? Strong performance again - shame it missed top 20, but a good return sales and charts wise
  8. Interesting news! Gary has co-written the new Craig David single: When you know what Love is. A very good song and an interesting collaboration!

    Great longevity for Take That!
  10. Will be interesting to see how the sales do once the final show happens tomorrow night. Can’t believe how fast the UK and Ire tour has gone! Hopefully the european leg will help boost sales and maybe help re-peak in some markets
  11. Good longevity! I’m going to see the cinema showing next Saturday! Will be interesting to see how it translates
  12. Odyssey officially platinum now on the BPI website. The album itself is down from 28 to 31 this week
  13. Another great concert from TT! Was at the O2 last week for what was my sixth tour! First thing I’ll say is the set list was great and flowed really well. There weren’t really any ‘stop-start’ moments, while they change the stage and such. That leads me to the staging itself. Whilst the Orb was impressive, I feel it was under utilised. There were also no ‘wow’ moments - be it a flying bike, 30ft ringmaster or wonderland-esc giant screen. I felt the staging was their poorest since they returned. Vocally, Mark was fantastic. Everlasting was a big highlight! Howard also did well on Spin. Unsurprisingly, Gary’s vocals were as strong as ever. Some of the notes he hit in Love Ain’t Here Anymore. Pray was interesting. It was very nicely done, but I was hoping we’d get at least one verse and chorus of the original dance and speed. Overall: solid concert, but felt like they could have taken it up a notch or two with the staging.
  14. Great to see Odyssey has now turned Platinum! https://twitter.com/garybarlow/status/11264...0709236736?s=21
  15. Incredible how much the album charts have changed in the last 10 years or so. I wonder how this album would have done around the time of Circus
  16. Excited to see TT on Thurs! Has anyone else seen it or planning to see it at the cinema?
  17. Odyssey up 1 place this week to 38 23 weeks in the chart which is good to see!
  18. I don’t think it charted unfortunately, but unsurprisingly
  19. Hold up a Light has been re-released with a primary school today. It’s #22 in the iTunes chart currently! Would be nice if it raised the profile of the song among no TT listeners
  20. Haha, I hope I can keep my energy levels equally!
  21. That’s a very interesting and thorough review, thank you! I’m going early May in London, so will be sure to share my thoughts too!
  22. Nice to see Howard stepping out of the shadow of the band - he was great when he did the dancing competition in Germany. How’s mission ignition doing at the moment? Anyone seen it?
  23. Fantastic! So what’s this do to sales? Are we nearly at platinum?
  24. The tour seems to be really well received, and the set list is looking great! Interesting that there’s no 1992 throwbacks from the TT&P record or something!
  25. It’s a difficult landscape to compare at the moment when it comes to GH albums - or any albums come to think of it. But it’s great to see TT back in the top 40!
