  1. Am I right in saying that the best bet in stopping LadBaby in getting number one is probably getting tens of thousands of people to actually download Mariah Carey and Wham this year, as that will then count for a lot when adding on top of all their streams (despite the ACR rule). Or is ACR still in effect even with paid-for downloads too?

    Hello everyone!

Long-time Buzzjack user/reader, but been quite a long time since I posted on here. I always enjoy coming back and checking the latest chart chat!

10 years ago, I made a podcast series about the Christmas number one race (and posted it on here in fact!). Suddenly 10 years has passed, and I felt it was time to make a brand new version.

So, please enjoy my brand new podcast series Christmas Number One Rewind, which looks back at every single Christmas number one race, playing the winners and remembering what just missed out (plus all the festive releases that charted, good or very, very bad).

I knew that if there was going to be any people that would enjoy this, it would be you guys!

So far, the 1950s to the 1990s are available - with the 2000s and 2010s coming very soon.

Head over here to listen, download and subscribe etc etc: Christmas Number One Rewind

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this btw, please do move it to the correct place if not.

  3. I feel so out of touch with current chart music, and thus this forum nowadays. I only actually like five of the final 20 songs, and of them only two I really like (Eminem, Cee-Lo). And most of the others wouldn't come close to my Top 100 of the year. But I'm clearly in the minority so I shouldn't whinge or complain as most will disagree with me. I just find it interesting.

  7. I remember there being a song that this girl recorded in memory of her mom. It was a cover of Paolo Nutinni's song 'Autumn' & that started the week low 75ish & then on the thursday rose to number 11 or 10? Then dropped & missed the top 40.

    Sarah Phillips - Autumn

Was a really lovely cover, was surprised at the time it didn't make the Top 40 overall. Was probably too late in the week.

  10. Wow these are soooo good! I hope you don't mind Tom but I've burned these so I can get the discs out every xmas, and play them at work to boost my colleagues' morales too. What ever station you end up working on I want to be able to listen to, I could even imagine you doing a TV version of these shows with original vids and some acts/artists in the studio with you!

Wow - thanks for the kind words - fingers crossed you can hear me on a station soon. You can hear some of my other radio work and music documentaries by clicking on the middle link in my sig.

And go for it with the CDs, feels awesome to know it'l be heard by others - what is your work?

  11. This is brilliant, thanks for doing these and posting them here! Reminiscing over the 90's one and will put the 00's one on next. Had to skip forward at The Millennium Prayer though, never gets any less awful does it :puke:

Are you a radio presenter or are hoping to do this in the future? Because it definitely sounds like it's your calling!

That's very kind of you, thanks! I've presented on some stations here and there, just finished an MA in radio production so fingers crossed 2011 will bring me somewhere!

  12. which link do you click, just incase im pressing the wrong one.it just downloads the file which idont want to do!

What browser do you use? I use Chrome so it may be different for others. It's the 'Download the MP3' link, or if you visit the blog there's another link you can try.

Or maybe if you have Windows Media Player you can use 'Open URL', and paste the link of the MP3: http://traffic.libsyn.com/eamezey/Christma...les_-_2000s.mp3
