Will Sam Smith break the record for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 by a debut album this week?

Sam heading for another Number One-I bought the physical edition today in Sainsburys. I just hope it doesn't propel the album past Madonna, denying her the Number One.

Thanks to everyone for their response-very interesting!

That's a bit daft. Has anyone ever published a revised chart for 1981? It's just so weird that the million selling Don't You Want Me doesn't exist on either the 1981 or 1982 charts.

Every chart source suggests Tainted Love by Soft Cell as the biggest selling single of 1981 in the UK, but The Human League's Don't You Want Me outsold it but fails to appear in the year end chat. Anyone have any background information on this?

Bang Bang haters-check out the Youtube video of Jessie J doing the song-BADLY out of tune-it's hilarious!

Exactly why would a "Lawyer" be on "A witness stand"????????????????????? Surely he would be elsewhere in the court?

I just hope Madonna doesn't release Rebel Heart soon after Adele's album and break her run of No 1 studio albums that stretches back to 1998's Ray Of Light and includes Music, American Life, Confessions On A Dancefloor, Hard Candy and MDNA

These Days Ready For Your Love Nobody To Love Jingle Bells Real Love Air Guitar A Sky Full Of Stars Me And My Broken Heart Waves Budapest Ghost Thinking Out Loud Rather Be Something I Need

Worst Christmas TOTP ever. With the exception of Take That, absolutely no-one interested me. Just boring. The Vamps doing Jingle Bells: Really??????????????????????????????????????????????????? Very pale comparison to the mighty TOTP of Christmas 1979 shown the night before!

So we are looking at Singles 1 Ben Haenow 2 Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars 3 Olly Murs/Demi Levato 4 Ed Sheeran 5 Take That Albums 1 Ed Sheeran 2 Sam Smith 3 Olly Murs 4 One Direction 5 George Ezra

Thanks Ben, it would be a shame with all the success he's had this year to miss out on a million sales in the same calendar year. He will obviously sail past a million with the Brits and Grammys next year. As for this week's chart, I can see Olly climbing back in the top 3 albums after his 'Night In' special, and I really believe Uptown Funk could be this year's Christmas Number One!

How likely is it that Sam Smith can sell a million copies of In The Lonely Hour by year end?

It's on Drownedmadonna-and they have been pretty spot on with everything else.

Re your avatar: Hasn't Gary got 15 No 1 singles now: 12 with Take That, and Forever Love, Love Won't Wait and Sing ?

Madonna will release the Diplo produced Living For Love in the New Year. It is described as having a "reggae sound", we have already heard a snippet of it, with the choir in the chorus. It also has Alicia Keys on piano. The video will be shot in new York in January.

Think they sold just over half a million for Progress. That will take some beating.

What I don't understand is that the record is announced as Wasted-so the word can be broadcast when spoken but has to be replaced when sung??????

Did you know Foxes is going to be in Doctor Who?

Dur-sorry-i see now you said 'non winning entry' Sorry-it's late.

Not forgetting Nicole: A little Peace-which topped the UK chart in 1982!

1 Madonna: Borderline 2 Like A Virgin: Like A Virgin 3 True Blue: Love Makes The World Go Round 4 Like A Prayer: Like A Prayer 5 Erotica: Bad Girl 6 Bedtime Stories: Love Tried To Welcome Me 7 Ray Of Light: Sky Fits Heaven 8 Music: Gone 9 American Life: X-Static Process 10 Confessions On A Dancefloor: Get Together 11 Hard Candy: Miles Away 12 MDNA: Masterpiece

Tove Lo Number 8

Looks like the screening of the Symphonica documentary didn't help George much. Supermarket shoppers will probably push Sam and George ahead of Kaiser Chiefs at the weekend.

George Michael's documentary screened tomorrow may just scupper Kaiser Chief's chances of a Number One Album this week.
