  1. Well 'Carnival' expected to debut at shockingly high position of no.2 in the US Billboard. Cancel culture? What cancel culture.

If he was elected, he would be following the wishes of the electors who think that the current UK support of Israel's actions in Palestine are catastrophically wrong and need to stop. A position hardly voiced openly in the House of Commons today.

I dont trust a thing thar Netanyahu and Israel say, and FWIW I think there may be some truth to Israel deliberately letting 7/10 happen. He wants a Palestine ruled by Hamas and a justificarion to carry out their ethnic cleansing/territorial expansion. But yes Ali can't be the Labour candidate, especially as Kate Osamor, Abbot and of course Corbyn lost the whip for far far less. Maybe this will go to George Galloway and maybe not a bad thing to have a pro Palestine winner, despite his other failings. Makes a change to.the hideous pro Israeli bias everywhere else.

Feels wrong that Stick Season goes to ACR before Cruel Summer, Prada and Greedy so hope it skips it. The tour promo might help.
  5. At one point Putin mocked Carlson for applying to be join the CIA and getting rejected when he was younger as it "was a serious organisation". Complete snark there! But Putin then blames Poland for Hitler invading them because they "overplayed their hand".
  6. Yep and Biden is just no way fit to be US President due to his health - I mean Trump clearly isn't either but these are the crazy times we live in. One thing that does raise a question is how would Trump winning and US becoming closer to Putin affect World politics? I know it would be horrific for Ukraine (and Europe) but Russia isn't pro Israel, so could it be good news for the Palestinians as there would be pressure on the US to stop being Israel's piggy bank for their endless supply of bombs?
  7. Sunak is just an evil, snivelling, mendacious creep - just like 99% of the Tories. Smiling away whilst trying to blame Labour for the fuss. And FWIW (and I think Starmer is weak) I do think there is something to be said about how being horrible about someone in front of the victim is worse than being horrible about someone when they're not there (although it was the house of commons so it's hardly private). I know a lot of commentators were saying the opposite, and it would be great if no one said any anti trans comments, but I think there's a special place in hell for people who show the ultimate lack of respect by making jokes in front of the victim.
  8. Oh look what the rat brought in at 16. It's like an AI generated anti woke song lyrically although prob intelligence would be stretching it
  9. To be fair, there was a recording of the iconic modern classical masterpiece Gorecki 'Symphony of Sorrowful songs' with Beth as the soprano soloist released in 2019 but yep this would be her first album of new material since the wonderful 'Third'. This New song sounds absolutely beautiful - and I hate to use her as comparison but Kate Bush like, especially at the end. Both legends though!
  10. She's completely talking crap anyway - most people (especially younger ones not married to billionaires or from wealthy families) do support left wing policies BECAUSE they have to earn a living and find somewhere to live and they find that the system is completely against them with lack of affordable housing and huge wage disparity because rich pay very little tax but get all the benefits from cheap labour.

I remember he won in both Tower Halmets and then Bradford West. Who knows if he can do so again? He like Chris Williamson has some really bad positions (pro-Putin, sexist and in his case pro Brexit) but I do admire him for being pro Palestine when most MPs can hardly muster up the courage. Simon Danczuk is a bit of a creep all around and doubt that Reform UK will do that well to be honest. I'm predicting a Labour win with Galloway running them close.
  12. Respect to him about being honest about it. Rather than keep it secret.

Well Iraqi government are furious about the US actions claiming it undermines their sovereignty and risking destabilising the region. They should know - the US has form in that country especially. What with arming and supporting Israel's horrific actions I don't trust anything the USA does in that region anymore. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/feb/...gion-warns-iraq

Oh oh. USA now bombing Syria and Iraq in retaliation for 3 US servicemen dying in deadly drone attacks. When will they learn to stop interfering in that part of the world? All it does is breed more terrorists.
  15. I think 'Houdini' is doing just fine. She, with a few very notable exceptions, charts lower in the US than her native UK. Good climbs for Sophie, Kenya too

Although they haven't called for an immediate ceasefire - a ruling that both sides can find something positive out of and certainly not going to affect Netanyahu's slaughter campaign (although even calls for a ceasefire would have fell on deaf ears there).

Oh and thanks so much for your hard work on this thread Gezza - a fantastic experience which I've enjoyed every day. A few recommendations I need to check out too from the other Bjers.

Great news that Bowie came 2nd - I most love his really avant garde stuff like the 'Low' album, 'Blackstar' (the ten minute video is like being transported into another world) but most of his pop songs are fantastic too - 'Changes' (how was that never a hit), 'Sound and Vision', 'Life on Mars', 'Fashion' and 'Modern Love' (actually gutted that a proper video wasn't made for that). Michael Jackson - although I'm just slightly irked by his personal life and choices there is no denying he changed pop music completely forever. I loved his 'Bad' and 'Dangerous' singles the most - 'Will You Be There', 'Who Is It', 'Liberian Girl', 'Another Part of Me', the not quite the biggest hits. Probably my favourite is 'They Don't Care About Us' - a song that is ever more relevant and clearer who 'They' are as the years progress.
  19. Trump being surprisingly reflective and incredibly gracious about his NH win over Haley @1750345261367333061 Serious - out of all the tyrants in the world, Trump must be the only one that talks like a spoilt 4 year old. And very threatening to Nikki Haley. Not a fan of her as she's a horrible transphobe who'd sell her own soul for power (look at the way she denies her previously stated racial experiences) but kudos that she is carrying on with so much hostility stirred up by Trump and his mob.
  20. As Public Enemy and later Tricky once sang I got a letter from the government the other day I opened and read it, it said they were suckers They wanted me for their army or whatever Picture me givin' a damn, I said, "Never" Serious - the wars that have been fought by this country - Iraq, Afghanistan, probably get us to join Israel in their genocide if they had their way. I do sometimes think that there may be a civil war in the USA between far rights and progressives/woke and there maybe some minor kind of mirror in the UK. Certainly don't think can rule out anything in these times.
  21. Trump predicted to win by a margin of 10 percentage points over Haley in New Hampshire according to the NYT. It's over - Trump vs Biden rematch. God help the world
  22. I wanted to just do the dance ones (Tricky Disco, LFO et al) but Talk Talk and The Scotts are just too damn good!
  23. It's weird - Trump is leading Biden in head to head in Presidential election polling but have the Republicans done well in any recent elections - it especially seems that if they "Fight Woke they Go Broke", despite their idiotic slogan saying the other. I still don't see him winning on the day - although of course him and his deranged supporters will undoubtedly claim he's got a landslide!

Def have to listen to more Weeknd albums. 'Starboy' was my favourite single of the tens. Really hated 'Earned It' and never was that keen on 'Blinding Lights' but all his other songs great. His rather disturbing imagery really reflects the times we live in unfortunately. Complete genius.
  25. And Trump has made thinly veiled racial jibes at Nikki Haley - such a scumbag.
