Self Titled Chart Hits
And both LFO and Tricky Disco were awesome. LFO was so different to anything else in the chart - that bass was so deep and the atmosphere was great. Tricky Disco with the alien voices and bird robots in the video was definitely the product of a very ahem, active mind. Of course LFO got used for a far less unique American boyband several years later but much prefer the Leeds act. LFO's Mark Bell later worked closely with Bjork for several years but sadly died tragically at the age of 43 in 2014. :(

Self Titled Chart Hits
Even if we're talking exact matches I was expecting lots more obscure tracks mainly instrumental dance tunes. I had a very cursory look at some 1999 charts - massive year for trance and found one on the 5th chart. A no.94 by Nojahoda - Nojahoda which sounded very odd. I'm sure there's many more. Just a case of trawling through the hideous to use Official charts website when there's time!

OPINION POLLS 2019-2024
Oh to lose those 4 evil people (Truss, Sunak, Braverman and Mogg) in one night who have damaged this country so much would so make my day!! Even if one's a bit meh about Labour under Starmer that's enough reason to vote!

The Middle East Today
So Netanyahu himself has now said "In the future, the state of Israel has to control the entire area from the river to the sea." Which of course means that he wants to abolish Palestine and the one state solution. That would be via genocide and breaking every International law going. Clear as crystal. Yet both of our two main political leaders will give mealy mouth deflections and "Oh I'm not an international expert" hand shrugging if asked about it and are not going to withdraw support to Israel. And we'll be bombarded with endless propaganda about the (undeniably awfully treated) Israeli hostages but the 25000 and rapidly rising number of Palestinian deaths, not to mention famine coming their way will not be spoken about.

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
Personally think no 2 was shockingly high for JT so pleasing to see him fall so much. So many other in top 10 are better. And although not completely his fault was bothered about Janet taking all the Nipplegate flak.

Love 'Come Undone', 'Trippin', 'Love Supreme' the most but vast majority of Robbie's singles are decent. By far the best Take That member.

2024 United States Presidential Election Thread
100%. The stolen votes is a particularly ludicrous example of the phenomena of objectively wrong information being believed as fact but also see the non acknowledgement of Palestinian casualties, the people who go on about a "climate scam", the anti vaxxers, idea that owning firearms makes society safer etc etc The thought was that in the information era that people would wise up but instead it seems that outlandish and very dangerous propaganda becomes "fact" and technology is used to promote it - and this year we'll see lots of fake AI content and propaganda. The biggest problem is the promotion of this crap is paid/aided for by wealthiest in society like Elon Musk, oil companies, dodgy media moguls. And with wealth being more and more uneven then this can only grow.

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
From what I know about The Weeknd's lifestyle and fondness for ahem, sweeties that made me chuckle! Thought Harry and Ed would be Top 10 tbh. I reckon George Michael could well win this time if the Michael Jackson controversy costs votes...

2024 United States Presidential Election Thread
To be fair, all 3 are absolutely awful (especially the way they attack the LGBTQ community) but Trump really is another level of scary, especially the hold he has over a significant chunk of the US. And Biden's many accomplishments are not getting noticed and his position on the middle East will put a lot of left wingers off.

Which artists have the best collaborations in their history?
Although I flippantly dissed Calvin in my earlier post, no way in God's earth is Guetta better than him. The second half of Guetta's career had been formulaic to truly dreadful. Calvin has had loads of truly memorable, huge bangers with biggest stars - Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith,Katy Perry, Rag n Bone Man, Migos/Frank Ocean, Florence Welch, Tineh. And evey song has a different twist. Far more no.1s if we have to use that benchmark.

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
Probably the only artist I would have voted for but his personality was too horrific to do so - not that everyone else would factor that in, which is cool. Very good ranking nevertheless. That was Kanye West Usher's music is just not my thing at all - too slick, annoying and utterly unrelatable.

The Middle East Today
Because every time the West gets involved in Middle East affairs it all goes catastrophic - Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya. With the current tensions in the region, it is a very reckless action to take.

The Middle East Today
So we're getting involved in another war by bombing Yemeni Houthis in the Gulf and aligning ourselves with Genocidal Israel. Hmmm, can't see this going well at all.... And funny how we can find money for war but not for NHS, helping business, councils etc etc

Which artists have the best collaborations in their history?
I suppose Calvin Harris although not all of them are highest quality - cough ('Potion')

Why nobody has done a "Wedding Present" again?
Yes it shows that chart positions can be misleading when 'Come Play With Me' is a bigger hit then 'Set Fire to the Rain' (as one example) just based on peak!

Mason vs. Princess Superstar – Perfect (Exceeder)
I'm the opposite - find the vocals distract from the energy of the original instrumental megablaster. Found the same with loads of dance classics like 'Love Story' by Bushwhacker/Layo, 'Needin U' by David Morales and 'Tsunami' by Dvbbs/Borgeous. Miles prefer the instrumentals. But this version is the hit and giving it the publicity so... :music:

Yay George rises despite the cruel unjustifiable outpourings of venom towards GGG :cheeseblock:

Buzzjack's Favourite Male Solo Act
My favourite Moby album is 1995's 'Everything is Wrong' - it's a bit not polished and rough around the edges - because he wasn't sure he would release another one. Real mix of styles from with ambient trance, euphoric house, industrial rock and a couple of beautiful ballads. And really bears his soul and vulnerability on it,lot of anger but beauty too. The closer 'When it's Cold I'd like to Die' with Mimi Goese vocals just goes so deep. Although my favourite ever Moby track is probably 'Play's' closing and a mainstay of chillout compilations, the world music mood piece that approaches a glorious crescendo 'My Weakness'.

You couldn't make it up. Are they determined to lose by a landslide?

It was a decent sized hit - by far the weakest of the 3 singles out IMO. 'Vampire' has done extremely well especially as it's not instant.

I really must listen to more Kendrick and James Blake. Morrissey would have given more but he is such a w*n**r, although quieter recently that he has been.. Top rapper is pretty much a given I would have thought!
