Love 'Marea (We've Lost Dancing)' and 'Delilah (Pull Me Out of This)' best from Fred Again. Bangers but very emotive too. Mark Owen's 'Child' is a fantastic, rather unusual song. Must admit not been driven to listen to more from him.
  2. Plus Sam has physical singles out too and he's on a heavy promo schedule - a bit on the level of Lewis Capaldi's no.1s this year. No wonder he's no.2 in the charts so far this week.

I only really discovered Howard Jones this summer, he was huge in the mid 80s but a lot of music had passed me buy - his songs maybe simple but are very uplifting, character building and quite a few earworms too. Beautiful person in every measure too!

Wow I forgot about Damien Rice - definitely would have been in my top 10. His 'O' album was just amazing - especially the first track 'Delicate' which just hits you with emotion.

Had to look up who sang 'I'll Be Waiting' - Cian Ducrot completely forgettable so no big loss. 'Whistle' very meh too!
  6. Noticed that the Tories always use the terms "common sense" about their policies nowadays - if common sense means making the majority of people poorer, unhappier, angrier and contribute to the destruction of the planet with a whole lot of incompetence thrown in too, then I guess the Tories have common sense to the tee!

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/de...-14th-amendment Looks like Trump us disqualified for being President of USA due to a court in Colarado.. was ecstatic for a moment but then it says he can Appeal and that will go to Supreme court and that's packed with his cronies. Nice few minutes of hope mind!

'Loser' is great- just realised it made top 10 in USA which is slightly surprising as they don't often chart alternative music so high. But love the 'Odelay' singles especially 'Where's it At' and 'New Pollution'. Perfect album all the way through.

Wow - sales were really strong early 80s!

Love 'Games without Frontiers' with uncredited Kate Bush obvs but think my favourite PG track is 'Digging in the Dirt'.
  11. Agreed all above. Interesting news coming out that the ex lead singer of indie band Gomez (who had several minor hits including 'Whippin Piccadilly'), Tom Gray, is standing in Caroline Lucas' seat, Brighton Pavilion for Labour. He beat the much more famous Eddie Izzard in the candidate selection. Could he be the first top 40 star to become an MP?

Thought Lil Nas X would be higher here tbh.

Intrigued about the *cough cough* with relation to Bad Bunny! Not too surprised he's here as Buzzjack has a sizeable international contingent.

Actually relistening to the Seal version perhaps acoustic was wrong word (there is more guitar though) but the electronics are def a bit more subtle and less harsh/pronounced than the original which was starker and grabbed the attention more. Still fab song overall.
  15. Oh for once I wish Starmer would give us at least one thing to look forward to: Still dancing to the destructive billionaires tune :manson: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/dec/...hacking-victory

My favourite Seal track by far was 'The Beginning' - made no. 24. 'Music takes you round and round and round. Hold on to the love' :music: Miles preferred the Adamski (but sadly uncredited) electronic version of 'Killer' than the more acoustic solo version.
  17. Creator Universe have a piddling 7.2K YouTube views after 3 hours including mine for curiosity. It's not as atrocious as Ladbaby but still had to stop watching half way through as bored senseless and didn't recognise a single "influencer"
  18. Isn't Noah doing better because it's vaguely festive? Unlike the Jack Harlow which is decidedly not! Expect Jack to storm ahead again in new year.
  19. Oh yes immediately thought about the fantastic Space Brothers although only would have thought of Chakra and Essence initially. Did think of Alena 'Turn it Around' as well but that was the Space Brothers remix which made the top 20.

The "Hitler was actually not too bad/Nazis were misunderstood" line has been making a bit of a appearance recently including in the Jewish Chronicle of all places....hmmm
  21. Austerity was completely right actually..... ....for the richest 5% in society and especially the wealthiest 1%. The rest of us, especially the disabled were slowly slowly given a real deterioration in quality of life. And the debts are now as high as ever! I cringe about thar "We're in this together' slogan Osbourne and Co came out with. They're laughing themselves silly at the gullibility of people who fell for it!

Never actually heard any solo Thom Yorke stuff despite being a massive Radiohead fan. For years were my favourite band.

She was a bit rubbish all round IMO (sorry) but 'Honey to the Bee' was a quirky earworm.

Arrdee has great potential. I'm not that keen on his obvious sample hits like 'Flowers' but 'Oliver Twist' was great (especially as it highlighted his eccentric side) and 'Liquor and Cigarettes' definitely in my top 10 singles of the year..

Well I know it's a bit late but Labour are now stepping up their rhetoric against the intolerable killings by Israel. Pleased at this change in tone and hopefully isolate the Tories on being 100% behind them.
