Know it was as part of a group (Wah!) but absolutely LOVE the 1982/3 smash 'The Story of the Blues' by Pete Wylie such a rousing anthem! For some reason thought Brian McKnight would have had bigger chart success than a 36 in the UK. Much bigger in USA .
  2. Oh confused with Rosemary Clooney. Oops! I'm waiting for the weirdness of 'You're a mean one Mr Grinch' and 'Linus and Lucy' to enter the top 50 in a couple of weeks.

And not looking good in Netherlands either with Geert Wilders '(whose been around for aeons) getting most seats with the Far right Party for Freedom party. Which sounds fun but isn't... Early hours mind
  4. Wham finally breaking up the eternal Christmas top 4 of Mariah, Rosemary, Bobby and Burl by re-entering higher than the latter two!

Despite having quite a few hits haven't heard about Conor Maynard for like a decade... oops! "Solo Dance" was cheesy but quite a fun hit. Always remember Prince William and Kate announcing Martin Jensen's chart position on the chart show when they guested.

Argentina on the other hand have elected a Far right populist President Javier Milai Happy fash today - although maybe not so much in the UK as he wants the Falklands back. :coffee:

Must admit found male soloists more difficult to vote for (unlike females as tend to find I listen to them more in groups. And my favourit)e one (Tom Waites) wasn't eligible.

'Nazis 1994' by Roger Taylor was actually played on the chart show back then! It's absolutely impossible to imagine Radio 1 touching something like that nowadays even though it's an anti facist and sadly prophetic song.

Good he got in but in a weaker position than before he voluntarily called a GE right?

Khalid was on every other hit it seemed 4 years ago - completely fallen out of favour. 'Lovely' remains a streaming behemoth mind
  11. If you are equating streaming power to quality, by your definition 'Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran would be the best song of all time! Ot near enough.
  12. I don't see why Labour aren't voting for a ceasefire - is it to keep in the good books of USA (not that they regard us as anything like equal), worried about antisemitism smears as per the Corbyn years or do they really think that the response is proportional or not? Good so many resigned though.

"Cola" is one of the best dance tunes of the last 10 years. :music:
  14. I don't even like the song but that Jack Harlow one is such an earworm. Really catchy (even in a slightly annoying way) - can't stop singing it!
  15. I'd think the wooing of the Blue Wall is too little too late. The right wing media may try to hype up divisions in Labour over Israel/Palestine but even then doubt that would seal the deal. People want the evil feckers out. Thought it was hilarious when Bravermann and her supporters keep on banging on about how she voiced the views of the "quiet majority" that a recent poll says that the GBP approve of her sacking by 70% vs 17%.
  16. So is David Cameron becoming Foreign Secretary an indication that Suank wants to soften the Tories image as he's horrified by the Blue Wall voting figures. There's going to be civil war between them and the Far Right wing lead by Bravermann.

Most of the coverage in the press and the uttering if Tory MPs will be about the few offensive placards and chants from the Pro Palestinian marches. They don't give a monkeys about the mass slaughter of innocent children in Gaza. We live in a country ruled by evil people.
  18. Slightly odd official video released a few days ago (only a brief cameo for ArrDee) VGJlu7nlikY

Oh and DMX is/was a homophobic nutcase - loved by the conspiracy theory crowd.

Just Jack did have great singles - 'Embers' and 'Stars in their Eyes'. He just didn't look very star like (which is kind of appropriate bearing in mind the subject of his biggest hit!)

Ian Brown did some really great solo stuff like 'Corpses', 'Golden Gaze', 'Dolphins were Monkeys' and 'Be There' with Unkle is one of my favourite songs of all time. Just magical But he is a dick which put me off voting for him. Mind you I gave 2 points to an even worse (but musically great) tosser and can see on that one I wasn't the only one to give him points!
  22. Just in time for Tommy Robinson (not his real name) to organise a Far Right protest on Twitter to counter the Free Palestine marches on Saturday. Bet Bravermann is egging on the violence so she can take away even more protesters rights.

Lol at Buzzjack only giving Eric Clapton and Van Morrison 2 points in total each. Prob deserve more in terms if legacy but both vile vile people especially racist Clapton.

Loved 'A Song for the Lovers' but prob vote for Verve instead.
  25. Musk has just unbanned both Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkin's accounts. Expect both to become mainstream very soon.
