I know I'm as guilty of anyone that complains about the Spotify Christmas playlists being Americanised but there's 6 UK Christmas songs in the top 10 although guessing Jorja won't stay there (and no loss because it's crap).

Matt Redman had a UK Top 20? Past me by. Will check it out. Pleased that my 28 pointer got more votes than just me.
  3. So 4 Friday chart shows of almost total Christmas domination. Gonna be fun....

There's surprisingly few stars who have appeared who I would have given points to but Travis Scott would have done - just love his ambient/prog rock style like in 'The Scotts' and 'Highest in the Room'. 'Let Me Down Slowly' is a beautiful lament. Shame it wasn't bigger than it was.
  5. Yikes Kanye would be pushing top 20 without Christmas - worrying thought.
  6. I hope it doesn't get a resurgent next year - although fear it will. Really don't get Taylor full stop.
  7. 'Houdini' is a great bop but can see why the reception is slightly muted - better than 'Dance the Night' though!
  8. I love 'Baddadan' but prefer the instrumental as the music on its own is so powerful and deserves full focus!
  9. And what a fantastic song from Olivia Rodrigo - although it seems like she's moved on from 'GUTS' already with this being her most successful song now.
  10. Mtizki is great - reminds me a bit of Ashe's 'Moral of the Story' which I would have loved to be much bigger than it was, so Mitzki's success makes up for that a bit.
  11. Surprised that Brenda Lee was actually still alive until I saw her new video a couple of weeks back!
  12. EOY chart isn't what it was sadly anyway. :(
  13. This is the last year of Ed and Elton being high in the charts isn't it. Enjoy it whilst it lasts - it's great musically even if the lyrics are generic even for a Christmas song.
  14. 'Asking' vocals are like a form of torture - stuck around WAY longer than I thought it would too. :puke2:
  15. This stand-in presenter is really decent isn't he - enthusiastic and no real mistakes!
  16. I really can't stand 'Greedy' but this is better. Interesting backing and better vocals.
  17. This is very much like 'Underneath the Tree' copy with a nod to Slade. Not a fan but don't like much Christmas music myself anyhow.
  18. Hope not - this so generic Guetta factory churn crap.
  19. Agreed, 'Santa's Coming For Us' it's quirky and fabulous - 'Snowman' is really nice mind.
  20. Lewis Capaldi with a new album out this year only 27th most streamed UK artist is poor....mind you his singles have been!

I'm wondering whether all this publicity over Brianna's murder may actually create more sympathy and understanding of trans people ith the general public than the other way round. Out of something so horrible maybe there can be some good.

Alexandra Burke can actually take credit for making another legendary male artist appearance here, a bit later on in this countdown! B-)

They seem to be a truly evil couple of children. I'm guessing they just love the idea of killing like a young Fred and Rose West.

Pogues only 10th biggest Chrissie hit! I know it may over take the odd song but what a change from 5 years ago say. And still love it despite that word.

It's been extended by 2 days although even if no more Israeli attacks were done the horrific loss of life and carnage in Gaza is just a tragedy. There was a big 'March Against Anti Semetism' yesterday which in reality for the most part was an Israel propaganda rally with lots of Israeli flags. There's no acknowledgement of the huge loss of Palestinian life, rightly condemned by the UN and most NGOs as textbook genocide by the Campaign against Anti Semetism, the head of the Holocaust education Trust, most of our front bench politicians on both sides and most of our ghastly media. I feel like I'm living in a horrible world where the highest people in our society blatantly ignore elephants in room (see also Climate Emergency)
