Lol that look she has in the 'Demons' video is really something! Prob not one to watch just before bedtime....
  2. Thanks so much Simpson Fan - one video not much happens but this one which is the shorter excerpt looks really beautiful. Maybe will see it in full one day! vxQ3yHNzW8s
  3. Hi - hope this is the best forum for it. Two of my favourite trance tracks of all time were released in the late 90s and were decent sized hits but to this day I have no idea if there were official promo videos for the tracks or how to find out. Can't find anything on YouTube or internet generally. Intrigued to watch them if they were. Tracks are: Humate - Love Stimulation (Paul van Dyk's 'Love Club' mix) No.18 in Jan 1999. Insanely beautiful instrumental track by an act with no other hits- sounds very inspired by deeply emotional classical music. I do recall a video at a dance festival in bad quality (a bit like Wink 'Higher State of Consciousness' which "may" have been the promo but that's no longer on YouTube. (By the way, be careful if doing an internet search for the video, make sure 'Safe Search' is on as I found out) :kink: Space Brothers - Shine No.23 in May 1997 and a remix called 'Shine 2000' made no.18 in Feb 2000. Gorgeous therapeutic trance track with spiritualishy warm female vocals (Joanna Law). Can't see official promos for either on YouTube (or their well remembered 'Forgiven' track) but can find videos for 'Heaven will Come' and 'Legacy (Show me Love)' and one of their many aliases Alena's 'Turn it Around'. I could try asking the band themselves as they are still going and performing but thought I'd try here first. Any ideas if there were videos, what they were like and if they're available online? Thanks

I'm in the middle, a couple of my friends do have long term symptoms (although not debilitating). One is in his 60s and was relatively fit, the other with prior conditions. But in all honesty, covid isn't really a thing in my community now, hardly anyone talks about it. Plus the appetite for any further lockdowns, for better or worse, is simply not there. There would have to be a pandemic far more deadly than Covid for it to be considered.

Think this is the first for a no.1. However,I do remember when ACR was new, it felt very quirky when a track would peak after several weeks of climbing and then suddenly plummet from its peak. An example I remember was Little Mix/Cheat Codes 'Only You' which had a run of 32-40-28-19-16-14-17-14-{13}-40 which seemed very brutal. I'm sure there were a few more but can't remember any recent examples. Anyone else know?
  6. I did hear that he was started to get cancelled by the MAGA , oops- to be honest the song's crap anyway.
  7. In the year to dates Morgan Wallen's 'Last Night' has finally overtaken SZA's 'Kill Bill' to be current no.2. Likely to be no.1 next week or so overcoming 'Flowers' by Miley Cyrus. Undisputed biggest single of the year by December.
  8. I was all set to post this rather lovely chilled dance track (with the memorable giraffe video), a no.2 in 2013, in the 'One Hit Wonders' thread but then after checking found out he had a follow up no.23 with 'U Got It' (no me neither) KrMl32cuC2A

For another big US RnB/hip hop artist who's never had a UK top 75, there's Rod Wave whose had over 50 Billboard Hot 100 tracks, most of them are album tracks at the lower reaches but 4 top 20s to his name.
  10. I voted Mark Goodier (professional yet very lovely man), Jameela (iconic) and Jack (flawed and a bit over the place but definitely a good guy and passionate too). JK and Joel the worst obvs. Useless

Love this guy especially his ultra avant garde later period stuff like 'Alice', 'Blood Money' and 'Real Gone' albums. Such a beautiful soul.

I suppose one could arguably include lots of artists who are massive elsewhere in the world but can't get top 40 hits here due to language/cultural barriers - artists like Karol G. That said several of the other ones i was going to post seem to have got a feature on a top 40 (Becky G, Maluma, Ozuna) but you get the general drift. And lots of huge country artists (although the UK firewall against that seems to be failing somewhat recently with allowing Oliver Anthony, Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs in) but likes of Kane Brown, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Walker Hayes yet to score here.

For many years it would have been Led Zeppelin who released no singles period when they were together but a later release of 'Whole Lotta Love' made no.21 in 1997 (being their only official single released to celebrate their 30th anniversary). 'Stairway to Heaven' went top 40 on downloads too in 2007. Leonard Cohen was a legendary songwriter but only ever made the charts once when his original version of 'Hallelujah' made the top 40 the week Alexandra Burke went to no.1 (and the Jeff Buckley cover version was at no.2)
  14. I remember 'You Got the Style' from Athlete, way before they got big with 'Wires' - surprised they only had one other top 30 hit. Thought they were bigger than that.
  15. Don't want to post this but feels too important (and awful) to ignore. The vile Sun "newspaper" has posted an opinion piece which has conflated the horrific child killings of Lucy Letby with LGBT inclusive diversity schemes. https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/08/30/nhs-...w-badge-scheme/ This is the utter moral cesspit that has been stirred up by those by the fascist super rich.

Immediately thought of her. Considering how well she is promoted she must lose lots of money for record company? Shame as ridiculously talented.
  17. Awww, I don't disagree with that assessment for the general public but personally, I effing LOVE this by Kate Nash. By far better than 'Foundations' in my opinion - such a fab, campy, retro sound and catchy as hell. :cheeseblock: OqV-embx_tA
  18. I was going to include The Calling and Orson thinking they only had one other top 40 hit other than their biggies ('Wherever you will go' and 'No Tomorrow') but both had THREE other top 40 hits each. The charts of the mid noughties were so forgettable.

Roisin has done a kind of semi/non apology and said she's not going to say more about the subject.... https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/08/29/rois...backlash-trans/
  20. I def wouldn't include Fun in this category or Owl City ('Good Times' was a big hit too). Probably not Cassie or Esmee although more arguable. I can think of loads of pre 2000s easily but struggling to find any post 2000s but really tough..Jedward had a no.2 with that Queen/Vanilla Ice mutilation and a no.40 with a song called 'Lipstick' (and not going to waste my life hearing what it sounds like) mind!
  21. Awww that's one of my favourites - deep subject, beautifully delivered. But can see why not be everyone's cup of tea.

Eminem is turning out to be such a hero for me https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/us-celebrity-n...-stops-30806999 Vivek Ramaswamy is like a younger Suella Braverman of US politics and rapidly gaining popularity in the nominations for Republicans (and is being feted by Trump - possible VP?)
  23. Good thread idea. Obviously a lot of singles (Ladbaby) are atrocious but I'm guessing you mean more dirges. So generally for a song to be the most boring for me it is usually a ballad, extremely successful (as not going to hear a song that goes 30-OUT much but these are pretty inescapable) and I've got a 3 way Cheesy band name, cheesy lyrics and just doesn't go anywhere. Quite why it was massive over here too, who knows? h_m-BjrxmgI Not everything they've done is bad but this was painful with a strangled cat vocal and it's chart run (in the glory Jameela Jamil days :jameela: ) was interminable - it debuted at no.1 but fell on average less than one place a week and they played this every single week! pB-5XG-DbAA I know this song has a lot of Buzzjack fans and she is a great artist overall, plus it was a very personal, honest song to write but my god, it was so bland and such a disappointment musically. Just didn't deserve that success it got by default. U3ASj1L6_sY
  24. 'Walking with Elephants' and 'Sweet Disposition' were absolutely amazing tracks! Loved this song so much, a no.7 in 2015. I know he was a member of Mattafix but being Liberal with rules. BLRgaU9uUnA

Social media and the internet sadly is where most of discussions take place nowadays and such debates are leading lots of topics (not just this one) to very dark places.
