I agree about lack of nuance and of course there's a lot of gung-ho "Israel get rid of Palestine" crap on social media. I've seen a lot of rubbish too saying "Oh Hamas were forced into this by endless Istaeli aggression." But parading naked women in the streets, taking children prisoners etc is not the way to do.it plus in.this case, Israel are too strong. Only diplomacy and pressure could have solved it and now there's no chance and it's going to be fecking gruesome.

Some are saying Iran was behind the attack by Hamas. This is a very dangerous situations - well over 100 Palestinians killed today in retaliation and Israel have barely started. Which of course will lead to increased tensions between Muslims and Jews in the UK too, as has always been the case when there has been a particularly bloodthirsty episodes between Israel and Palestine.

All kicking off here - again. Hamas have launched surprise terrorist attack, killed at least 22 Israelis and taken hostages. Of course Israel's retribution will be likely very brutal and a lot of innocent civilians will end up dead. :no:

The thing is that although, tragically, people are in general less accepting of trans people since all these ridiculous, relentless scare stories, all the evidence is that it is not a vote winner as trans issues comes very low on people's priorities at election time. Yes it is a distraction/scapegoat but I think, sadly, the main reason the Tories go for trans people is that they are bullies and enjoy causing misery to people's lives. Especially, as despite this ridiculous assertion of an all-powerful trans lobby that unlike, arguably, some other minorities, trans people have absolutely no way of coming back against the aggressors. A statement I hear regularly in recent times is 'The cruelty is the point'.

'The Scientist' is achingly beautiful throughout. Definitely my favourite of the triptych of slow ballads from first 3 albums ('Trouble' and 'Fix You' being the other two. 'Viva la Vida' is a very worthy winner. Light and heavy at the same time, excellent tune throughout verse and chorus and intriguing lyrics, some said about Tony Blair's fall from grace. Thanks so much for this rate Roba. Great commentary and got me listening to a lot of Coldplay and discovering new gems 'Arabesque' and 'Everlast' especially.
